The mansion is a listed historic monument and has been meticulously restored. Work began in 2006 and great care was taken to retain as much of the original fabric as possible to preserve the charm of this elegant abode. Love and care were also lavished on the garden and old photos were used to restore it to its former glory and replant many of the original shrubs and plants. The Literature Centre (Maison du Livre) is housed in Maison Célières. Admission is free and a fascinating exhibition about local retail trading from 1870 to 1940 is on here until December.
