President’s Message
Welcome to 21 Glowing Years! I wanted to use this opportunity to give my heartfelt thanks and appreciation to each and every volunteer, business and community supporter for their time and effort to make this happen! Our Board, and volunteers have been extremely busy this off-season upgrading all of our displays to meet new Provincial Electrical Codes. There were days I wasn’t sure we would get there, but am happy to say we will be opening on December 1st with our Glowing-est year yet! We can’t wait to see you down there! Donations appreciated. We couldn’t Glow Without You! Volunteers are the Heart of who we are! Did you know it takes more than 3000 hours to set up and take down the displays every year? We also run 31 nights with 20 volunteer spots to be filled. Some nights we run with 4 volunteers… We NEED YOU! For 21 years we’ve remained family and budget friendly because we don’t charge admission. But with an overall budget of $100,000, we need volunteers to ensure we run efficiently each and every night. If you have 3 hours to spare in December, please email coordinator.afols@gmail.com and sign up for a shift!
Things to know Admission
Admission to the Festival of Lights is by cash donation – your donations are what keep us glowing. Look for our donation stations around the park. HOURS: 6 pm until 9 pm, every evening in December 2016, including Christmas Day and Christmas Eve.
Handicap Access
A designated row is available just outside the parking lot for vehicles with Handicap permits. In addition, golf cart transportation, for those unable to walk through the Festival, is usually available, although it cannot be guaranteed or reserved. Availability depends on the number of visitors requesting their use and the number of volunteers available to drive.
Pets
Dogs on leashes are always welcome at the Airdrie Festival of Lights. However, please be advised that pets are not allowed in the tent, where food may be served.
