May 28 - June 2, 2013 AIRSTREAM factory Jackson Center, Ohio
E
Welcome to AlumApAloozA 4, the Airstream factory, and the town of Jackson center, ohio! You’re going to have a great week, and a busy one! use this guide to plan your fun. In addition to many favorite activities from years past, we’ve got lots of new things to do, including towing Test Drives with Andy Thomson, organizational sessions with professional organizer Ramona Creel, tax tips for travelers from Marty Shenkman, advanced kite-flying lessons from Kimberley Ewell, a musical Jam Session, Blogger’s Roundtable, and the Aluminum Gong Show!
FEATURED EVENTS Airstream Factory Tours Airstream will be offering daily tours of the factory (twice a day on Thursday and Friday). Register at the Service Center. Closed-toe shoes are required, and you should plan to walk about 3/4 of a mile. Production is shut down during the Friday tour. This means there’s less to see, but also it’s quieter so you can hear the tour guide more easily.
Open House This event is a great opportunity to show off your Airstream, or take a peek inside everyone else’s! It’s also a great way to break the ice and meet your fellow ‘Paloozers.
Outdoor Activities Every morning there will be yoga in the Activity Tent, led by instructors sKY:: and slaDE~. This class is always popular, so please arrive 10-15 minutes early! Wear comfortable clothing (dressing for the weather) and bring either yoga mat or a large towel, so you can practice yoga, breathe, and stretch. On two days we’ve got some easy bicycle rides planned, around Jackson Center and Shelby County. Each ride will be arrowed so you A LU M A PA LO O Z A SURVIVAL GUIDE

FEATURED EVENTS (continued) can go with the group leader at scheduled times, or anytime you want by yourself. On Saturday morning you can join the “Tiger Trot” annual 5K and 1K fun runs, held at the Jackson Center High School. To register at the event, show up by 8:00 a.m.
Open Grill This year we’re going to have Open Grill on three nights. It’s a lot of fun sharing the big custom-made grills with your fellow Airstreamers, and sharing the interesting items that people bring to cook. We’ll supply the charcoal and the grills, you bring whatever you want to cook.
Rivet Masters Competition Think you know how to buck a rivet? Bring a team of two to the Rivet Masters Competition and see how your team stacks up against Airstream professionals, and compete with other amateur teams for prizes! Sign up in advance, in the Main Tent.
Roving Happy Hour At the 4 p.m. announcements (under the main tent, where we give away the door prizes every day), we’ll have 10 flags to hand out. If you want to host a Happy Hour at your trailer at 5 p.m., just pick up a flag and stick it in the ground near your awning. Anyone who wants to join your Happy Hour is welcome when the flag is flying. The next day, we’ll collect all the flags and hand them out to 10 different Airstreamers.
Backup Derby Show off your skill at backing up a trailer! We’ll supply a trailer, a truck, and an obstacle course made of traffic cones. This year the task is harder because we’re going to black out the rear window and mirrors. You’ll need a team of two: one person to drive and the other to give instructions over a radio. “The Stig” will drive the course first, to set the time to beat. Sign up in advance in the Main Tent and get ready for some hilarious fun.
Vendors This year we are expecting representatives from Airdrapes, Fantastic Vent, Josh Rogan, Ramona Creel, Silver Trailer Jewelry, TechnoRV, SkyMed, WBCCI, and Zip Dee. Fantastic Vent will be on site Friday and Saturday to do warranty work, repairs, sell product in the vendor tent, and answer questions. However, they won’t be able to do new product installations in the field.
