Application Fee - 650 USD
The fee covers the administration of the application and must be paid upon submission of the application. It is valid for one academic year and applications can not be reviewed until the fee is paid. Should an application not result in enrollment, the fee is not refunded. The Application Fee is payable for the year when a child is applying to the school. The Application Fee is non-refundable.
4
The Application Fee is a one-off. If an applicant has been accepted into the waiting pool and their application is being renewed for a consecutive year, then the school waives the application fee payment requirement for the year when the application has been renewed. The Application Fee is payable via online payment through the admissions portal in USD only. In case you need an invoice for the application fee, you may request that by email from the Finance Office at financeoffice@aisb.hu
Registration Fee - 1.000 USD
The one-time registration fee is paid to secure an offer of admission from the school. The registration fee is due within 14 days from the invoice issue day and is non-refundable. The invoice will be issued upon acceptance by the Finance Office.
Building Fee - 3.000 USD
The building fee is a mandatory, annual fee that applies to all students. Students attending for less than 20 school days in a school year will be charged 50% of the annual building fee.

Payment Schedules
At the time of enrollment, families must opt for one of the offered payment plan options. Plan B and Plan C offer an installment payment option; however, in these scenarios, a 5% processing fee is applied to the 2nd and 3rd installments. Plan C is not available for companies and may only be applicable to private fee payers. For families whose child is accepted to AISB after August 1st, the building fee and tuition fee are payable in one single payment.

Late Payment Protocol
Late payment of any amounts due to AISB, will result in an additional late payment fee of 6% per annum on the unpaid balance, calculated on a daily basis. Students whose fees have not been paid by the due date will not be allowed to attend school unless an installment payment has been agreed upon in writing with the Business Office team. If a substantial amount of fees (exceeding $1500) remains overdue for a period of over 30 days, the one-sum payment option (PLAN A) is only accepted for the following school year. The installment payment plan is not possible in these cases.
Seat Reservation Deposit - 1.500 USD
The Seat Reservation Deposit of 1.500 USD, deductible from the tuition fee, is to be paid each year by March 1 to secure a place for the following academic year. The deposit is non-refundable. Re-enrollment payment after March 1, leaves the place vulnerable to new admissions and is then subject to space availability and unfortunately, the seat is no longer guaranteed by the school.
Leave of Absence Fee - 25% of the building fee and the grade-related tuition fee
If requested by the family and approved by the school, AISB may agree to prioritize enrollment for a student who is planning a one-year Leave of Absence. Should the student return at the start of the following school year, this fee guarantees a place. The Leave of Absence Fee is not prorated or refundable under any circumstance. The Leave of Absence may not be extended beyond one year. Approval can be obtained through contacting the Admissions Office at admissions@aisb.hu. During the school year of the Leave of Absence, the family must adhere to the regular re-enrollment timelines, providing school reports of the year and the payment of the Seat Reservation Deposit for the following year in order to secure the student’s return to AISB.

Third-Party Payment
It is the Parents or guardians responsibility to ensure that the third-party payments are made according to the school’s payment terms, and parents guardians are liable for any outstanding balances of school fees including charges for late payments.
Payment Method for Tuition and Fees
Fees are set and payable according to the schedule approved by the School Board each year. Fees are charged in US Dollars and the payment must be net of any bank fees. Name of account holder: American International School of Budapest Name of the bank: UniCredit Bank Hungary Zrt. IBAN: HU03 1091 8001 0000 0076 5893 0019 Swift code: BACXHUHB Please state your child’s name, age, and invoice number for reference. Once payment has been received by the School, a payment confirmation email will be sent automatically from the billing system. Any extraneous charges (e.g., bank transfer charges) must also be covered by the applicant. For this purpose, please ensure that the section “Details of charges" is completed as "our” when making the transfer. In case the payee intends to transfer funds from the United States of America, they should contact AISB’s Finance Office before making the payment. The Finance Officer can provide them with the school’s TD Bank information in the US. 14
Settlement of Tuition and Building fee in HUF
Fees are set and payable according to the schedule approved by the School Board each year. All fees are invoiced exclusively in US Dollars (USD), and payments are expected to be made in USD net of any bank fees. Starting from the school year 2024/25, fees (except the application fee) for Hungarian students, or students who have permanent domicile in Hungary, can also be settled in Hungarian Forints (HUF). If the USD invoice issued by AISB is paid in HUF, the amount will be converted to USD during the settlement process, using the exchange rate of the Hungarian National Bank one day prior to AISB receiving the payment. AISB's invoicing policy specifies that all invoices are exclusively denominated in USD, and the HUF is only accepted as a settlement method for eligible payers. AISB will not issue invoices in HUF. The school's Application Fee payment remains in USD only. The following guidelines apply to this option: The Hungarian National Bank's exchange rates are applied to determine the HUF amount, and thus the HUF amount cannot be determined now as the calculation of the equivalent tuition fee in HUF should be based on the exchange rate provided by the Hungarian National Bank from the previous day before the actual payment. Invoices will be exclusively issued in USD. Although the settlement takes place in HUF, the invoices will continue to be denominated in USD. AISB will not have the capability to generate invoices in HUF, as HUF payments are solely utilized as a method of settlement. Payment can be made either in full or in installments, as detailed in our payment plans outlined in our schedule of fees. This payment option exclusively applies to tuition and Building fees. All other payments to AISB must be made in USD. For any further personalised help, please contact our dedicated Finance Team at financeoffice@aisb.hu.
