01. c o l l e c t p o n d p a v i l i o n An exhibition design for New York’s refuse collection Framing Question - The beautiful 8 acre Collect pond vanished hundreds of years ago due to irresponsible disposal of the city’s waste which was located in today’s China Town in NYC. Through interventions in exhibition design how are you representing this history of a pond that was the only source of freshwater for the city in the 17th century? How are you raising awareness to maintain sanitation standards in an attempt to save our existing natural topographies today and in the future? This exhibition design aims at reminiscing the past with an ambition of trying to give back to the users, a space where you can contemplate and question our serious ignorance towards waste disposal from so many centuries ago. Articulating the various layers of transition and history of the pond, the pavilion takes the form of the reverse topography of what existed here. Contours of the pond are abstracted into a suspended feature that moves with the wind representing the calming and dramatic qualities of a lost freshwater pond. The history of the pond is realised through a series of permanent and temporary exhibits where this public realm can be used for various other shows and events. The ethereal quality of this pond is brought out by the use of materials like translucent fluted glass that creates a wavering tape like form which holds the reverse topography inside it representing the sacredness of this pond. Acrylic is used for the suspended feature and the permanent exhibits which are illuminated.

A marketing office that encapsulates the essence of the apartment project
This project was envisioned to exude a sense of luxurious tranquility while perfectly encapsulating the essence of the apartment, Pelican Gardens. The landscape of this 19 floors apartment regards the lake and its innate flora and fauna. This newly built apartment complex was in need of a marketing office that would represent the ethos of the apartment complex. With an over-arching goal of creating a remarkable walk through experience for buyers, the design employs the play of senses and cutting edge technology while being completely synchronized with nature. Extraordinary details with an unconventional mix of form, texture, and colours derived from nature will blend to create a space ensuring to have an impactful impression in people’s mind. The play of natural light in each space adds a dramatic feature and the subtle textures unveil a sort of calmness that you see in nature.
B I O P HI L I A
Biophilia is an approach to design that connects the building occupants closer to nature. This concept has been closely studied and incorporated in the spatial design of this marketing office. A lighting system that is either naturally or artificially radiated, changes throughout the day to mimic our circadian rhythm to help link people to the outdoor environment and feel a sense of warmth. Hence lighting plays a very important role in this design to represent the biophillic nature.

03. r u s t i c c o l l a g e A beach holiday retreat
A rustic feel to the chic and modern furniture creates a dialogue in this project. All surfaces were painted with a similar texture to create a correlation with the sandy tones outside. An Airbnb listing was a part of the design brief and hence had to entail visions of a holiday home to be rented out during a few months of the year. Simple furniture pieces with ornate accessories was the design principle. All renders are made using Sketchup and Enscape with furniture from the 3D warehouse. A natural palette with soft, warm tones and organic textures form the crux of the design to invoke a sense of home. Sisal rugs, texture walls, stone cladded walls create a particular vibe that was aspired for. Minimalistic furniture pieces with relatively straighter lines and rather simply upholstery play an important role in making a simple modernistic design. The use of natural materials like stone and burlap are elements in the design that make it very organice and free-flowing. 03. e l e m e n t a r y r e t r e a t A clubhouse interior project that emanates a luxurious lifestyle The clubhouse is visualized to provide an access to a high quality lifestyle for its residents of an apartment building. The design aim was to create a luxurious, multifaceted, timeless space dedicated for leisure and relaxation. Extraordinary details with an unconventional mix of form, texture and colours are blended to create spaces that connect with the taste and aesthetic of a diverse audience. EL EM EN TA R Y R ET R EAT
An aesthetic that is evolved and sophisticated is employed in the design. A sense of drama through the play of contrasts is essentially achieved. Organic shapes, natural materials, rugged surfaces will flow in profusion with smooth, straight lines creating balance and movement. Serene, fresh, airy spaces with foliage will be a distinct characteristic of the clubhouse. Project responsibility - Understanding the client requirements and creating a concept collage for the spaces that reflect materiality and the aesthetic style. Project contribution - conceptualisation, 3D views done using Photoshop.

An aesthetic with lines and patterns revolving around an existing black staircase
Simple fluting, bold colours, intricate wall paneling, marble flooring, accent pieces of furniture flow together seamlessly. Artwork in various spaces add a pop of colour to a monochromatic scheme. The champagne leaf ceiling and the brass paneling on the sides of the ceiling drop add a sense of opulence to the space. Ample amounts of natural light and greenery make most of the immediate outdoor context. The glass facade is treated with breezy sheer curtains to let natural light pass through.
B LAC K S EQ UEN C E
Located in the outskirts of Bangalore city, this villa interiors embodies a design that is relatable, functional and elegant. This 4500 sqft villa consisted of a beautifully made black wooden staircase. We found the need to accentuate this staircase with various other elements. A set of patterns were accumulated seeking inspiration from the surrounding. These patterns were then carefully articulated into the design that created an impact radiating from the wooden black staircase. Repetition of the patterns are also observed in every floor that link them together. Each floor is unique in it’s own way but these repetitive patterns bring all the spaces together.

Enriching the cultural experience of Mysore City
Creating Mysore’s own cultural space, calls of understanding the lifestyle pattern and replicating the feel of the city into this site. This is achieved through carefully studying the various elements in the city and re-create a version of the same language in the design. Materials that are easily relatable that flows well with the context and are familiar to the locals are used.
SANGAMA
Sangama, which means ‘meeting point’ in Kannada, is a project that is a part of various government interventions being taken up for a more meaningful visit to the city of Mysore to the tourists as well as create a space for the locals to sensitise the rich heritage they live around. This promotes community participation where there is easy accessibility to a wide range of arts and cultural activities with amenities that can contribute to social inclusiveness and conserve the living heritage of the city.
The building blocks surround the public plaza which contributes to a major part of the design. It includes a gallery space, monumental representations of the past, nodes that represent the focal points of the city and seating area central to the shopping center. The site also includes an existing vegetable market that observes a large footprint during mornings.

FIG 1a - The periphery of the Palace complex in Mysore consists of city markets, public service buildings, cinema theaters and residences. The roads connecting these major nodes, consist of marble statues of the Kings that ruled Mysore.
FIG 1b - These round-abouts are abstracted into a design that represents the ‘chhatri’ meaning umbrella. Situated at the end of every cluster, these act as an acitivity space as well a seating area that represents the architecture of the statues.
FIG 2a - The Mysore Palace which is the main attraction in the city that resonates it’s architecture style to the entire city, has a very unique elevation. The proportion of the arch opening that opens out into the durbar hall is divided into 9 parts wit unequal sizes.
FIG 2b - The Cultivation center consists of shops that sell the local handicrafts and delicacy. These sheltered corridors in front of the shops mimic the arch opening of the Mysore palace that follows the same proportion
FIG3a - The palace architecture consists of a significant feature where every facade has a fixed formula to Repetition. The window openings, chajjas, arches or doors are multiplied in a certain way that creates a harmony with the elements around it.
FIG 3b - This Repetition is represented in the form of change in materials in this design. The gallery and cultivation center consists of a wall paneling made of cement and wood that creates a pattern unique to it’s elevation.
