May is Harley-Davidson Women Riders Month, and Crystal Harley-Davidson is joining women riders from around the world to celebrate International Female Ride Day on May 7.
To connect women riders with each other, Harley-Davidson has declared the month of May as Women Riders Month to celebrate “the millions of women who have already grabbed life by the throttle, while inspiring even more women to take control and to experience the freedom of the open road.” Throughout May, rides and events are held at various dealerships to encourage women to come together and share their passion for motorcycles.
“Women have been enjoying the sport of motorcycling for the last century,” said Leslie Prevish, past women’s outreach manager with HarleyDavidson. “In the past two decades, we’ve seen a dramatic increase in the number of women who embrace the sport. By declaring May as Women Riders Month, we’re honoring all of the women who enjoy the freedom and adventure found in taking control of their own handlebars.”

And Jewel Lamb, owner of War Horse Harley-Davidson in Ocala and Crystal Harley-Davidson in Homosassa, couldn’t agree more.
“That is what riding is all about: the freedom to create your own legendary stories,” she says. “And International Women Riders Month gives all of us ladies the opportunity to do just that.”

To kick off the month, women from around the world will take part in the 10th annual International Female Ride Day. This campaign takes place on the first Saturday of May, which is May 7 this year, and encourages all women to get out and “Just Ride.” International Female Ride Day celebrates and promotes women motorcyclists while creating awareness for the cause. The event gives women from all over the world the chance to express their enthusiasm for motorcycling all on the same day.

Jewel. “This is a global, synchronized riding event that will be taking place simultaneously around the world, and we want to show our support by riding the beautiful back roads of Citrus County. The ride begins at 10am at our Crystal Harley-Davidson dealership and ends at High Octane Saloon. And the event consists of way more then just the ride—there will be live entertainment and activities for everyone to enjoy throughout the day.”
Be one of the first 200 women to register and sign up at Crystal HarleyDavidson on the morning of May 7 and you’ll receive a free commemorative patch. Registration is free. Everyone participating in the ride will also be served a free Southern-style breakfast and coffee. Participants will be given a free raffle ticket for the chance to win prizes, including a $50, $100 or $250
Crystal Harley-Davidson gift card. The drawings will take place at 4pm. After the event, be sure to stick around for a concert by the Greg Billings Band. Official ride T-shirts can be purchased by visiting motoress.com/ international-female-ride-day. You can also find out more about the global event and connect with other riders on the website.
