THE EXPERIMENT

Baby Foot’s instructions are simple:

1. Clean your footsies.

2. Cut open the plastic booties and place on your feet, using the included adhesive strips to close them around your ankles. Your feet will feel like they’re covered in a thin layer of snot, but go with it. Slip some socks on over top for maximum absorption (and some semblance of grip on the floor).

3. After one hour, rinse with soap and water.

4. The Baby Foot box suggests soaking your feet nightly for 20 minutes to maximize your results. According to Amazon reviews, those who did not do this had more of a dandruff-like experience versus skin peeling off in sheets. Choose your own adventure, and soak accordingly.

Oh, and don’t do this with a fresh paint job. Baby Foot peels polish right o , too.

The Results

On day one, the skin on my feet felt extra dry and tight, but otherwise the same. On day two, some barely noticeable peeling began in between my toes. But day three…oh day three…

On this day, I went to an outdoor festival. I purposely wore sneakers and socks hoping a little foot sweat would, shall we say, loosen things up. My skin bubbled up in multiple places and–graphic content warning–was all but falling o . I immediately got to peeling and consistently pulled o pieces the size of a quarter, some larger. And while it’s objectively gross, I loved every second.

From day four on, it was just a matter of cleaning up the edges. Some of the rougher patches on my heels flaked o slowly. On day six, the tops of my feet and my ankles began to peel.

As one of those sickos who watches pimple-popping videos, I’m not surprised that I love Baby Foot. But besides feeling oh-so-satisfying, it truly made my feet feel exceptionally soft. They’re visibly smoother, too, and look better than they have after any pedicure. I can honestly say I will be purchasing this again and trying to convince my fiancé to Baby Foot his feet so I have four to peel.
