George Corey of The Villages had a wonderful experience when he underwent knee replacement with Dr. John Williams, Jr. three years ago.
“He told me that when I went to the hospital I’d be in a country club-like environment, and he was right. He has his own area and his own staff in the hospital. They were right on top of the things the entire time. Of course, Dr. Williams did a wonderful job with the surgery, and his physical therapy team did a wonderful job during rehab.”
He found that Dr. Williams’ bedside manner is every bit as impressive as his impeccable surgical skills.
“I’m a fan of the New York Jets, and he’s a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles. We were in his office talking football. That shows what a personable, guy he is.”
When George’s wife, Delia, needed a knee replacement several years later, there was little doubt which surgeon she would choose to perform the operation.

To say she had an equally wonderful experience would be an understatement. “He listens, and that’s hard to find in a specialty doctor these days. He treats me as a patient—not just the condition. He is a very empathetic doctor with a wonderful heart.”
That was especially evident when Delia was in agonizing pain for several months before undergoing back surgery. Although Dr. Williams does not perform spine surgery, he welcomed Delia to his office just to provide a listening ear.
“He listened to me even when that meant having to hear me cry.”
