A SHOT OF COMPASSION

As a young boy growing up in South Florida, Maurice Marholin remembers making repeated trips to Ocala to see his father’s horses.

While passing through Clermont, he was always intrigued by the area’s picturesque landscape, particularly the gentle, rolling hills and sparkling spring-fed lakes.

In later years, he would briefly visit this fascinating area to enjoy the abundance of outdoor recreational opportunities.

“Clermont is a place that always fascinated me,” he says. “I would come here periodically and fish on the lakes and utilize the walking trails. Also, I was always impressed by how friendly the people are.”
