JOHN N. McGUIRE
Redactor AL DÍA News johnm@aldianews.com
A

JENNIFER RODRÍGUEZ HAS THE KEY THAT LEADS TO SUCCESS IN PHILLY In the United States, only 3 percent of Hispanic companies generate $1 million in revenues annually. This means that the vast majority of the economic and commercial activity of Latinos in the country is developed in small and medium businesses, usually of family origin. In our region, there are over TO READ 18,000 businesses owned by IN ENGLISH Latinos. There are just 8,000 GO TO businesses in the city - among NEWS.com/OPINION restaurants, bodegas and several microenterprises - that mostly belong to Latino immigrants or the first generation of their descendants in the country. Among the types of Hispanic-owned businesses in the city are the bodegas and grocery stores, in which the Dominican and Puerto Rican communities play a dominant role; and the gastronomic sector that, with the leadership of the Mexican community, has changed South Philly, especially the Italian Market, which some have long called “Puebladelfia”.

That’s why Einstein’s Breast Health Program continues to pioneer new imaging techniques. As one of the first hospitals in the U.S. to offer 3-D mammography — and now the first hospital in Pennsylvania to offer Molecular Breast Imaging, a new procedure using nuclear medicine for a clearer view of abnormalities in dense breast tissue — we are at the forefront of mammography breakthroughs. And our patients know they are getting the best treatment possible.
