FILADELFIA

HIPANIC HERITAGE: WHAT IS IT ALL ABOUT?

Hispanic Heritage Month is the official time of the year to celebrate Latinos’ contribution to the country. However, every year the same questions arise: What is actually celebrated? Is it about the Latino identity? Are Latinos a homogenous culture, or are they a multicultural and multiethnic blend? Since it was created in 1988, Hispanic Heritage Month is supposed to be the official time of year for Latinos TO READ or Hispanics in the country IN ENGLISH (those who have been around GO TO for a long time, those born NEWS.com/OPINION here, and those who continue to arrive) to celebrate their identity. But Hispanic Heritage Month is especially celebrated so that the American society recognizes the contribution of the Latino-Americans to the nation.

The 500year legacy that shaped a nation.
