f there is one thing about Councilmember Helen Gym which no one could question, it is this: She shows up. Protests, events, signings, openings—she’s everywhere that she has something to say. And there are a lot of things about which she has a lot to say. It’s part of her ethos, not just as a politician but as a citizen, an organizer, and, perhaps most tellingly, as a journalist (in our story on pg. 12 it’s notable that, intentional or not, Gym says she is a journalist, using the present tense to still identify with the profession). “I hope that what people see, despite all the chaos we see all around us, is an essential need for people to get engaged and involved—to understand that politics doesn’t have to just be election day and candidates, that politics is about every single day of our lives,” Gym told AL DÍA in September 2018. Her Fair Workweek legislation was about to be passed that fall, and her work so far in her first term in City Council had solidified her role as a leader of a variety of progressive causes. Flash forward a year, and Gym is still focused on the same message. It’s just that now, her audience has grown. Her legislative achievements in 2018 set the stage for
ENGLISH Gym’s rising national profile in 2019, and a resounding affirmation of her first-term legislative efforts at the ballot box with her own victory and that of third-party candidate Kendra Brooks, whom Gym supported against Democratic establishment wishes. The councilmember, who achieved the most amount of votes in recent history for any at-large City Council candidate, has been a local voice on the national stage. In July, she gave a keynote address at Netroots Nation ahead of the presidential forum—featuring Democratic presidential candidates Elizabeth Warren, Julian Castro, and others—in which she urged Democratic leaders not to fall into looking for safe routes to victory at the expense of bolder action given the urgency of climate change, poverty, discrimination, and the many other issues which the country faces. Another national spotlight shone on Gym last week, when she was named in ELLE as one of 20 women of color to watch in politics in 2020, according to She the People. In her interview with AL DÍA for this week’s cover story featuring the councilmember as our person of the year, Gym says that she eschews the label of “progressive,” and dislikes the concept of “celebrity politicians,” though at this point many would find it difficult not to associate her with both of those concepts, given her popularity among voters and her track record in City Council. But all labels and honors aside, Gym is adamant that she sees herself as part of a movement for “quality public schools, clean drinking water, and a roof over people's heads,” and other “immediate and fundamental human rights needs.” And if her personal political trajectory tells us anything, it is that her legislative vision is winning—in Philadelphia and beyond. ❚

rowing up, Katherine Gilmore Richardson says she had the privilege to attend some of Philadelphia’s most prestigious schools. For middle school, she got into the extremely competitive Julie R. Masterman Laboratory and Demonstration School, and in high school, Gilmore Richardson went to the educational mecca that is the Philadelphia High School for Girls. Both schools were integral to shaping how she views education today, but it was another experience that put into perspective its importance. After getting her undergraduate degree in political science from West Chester University, Gilmore Richardson spent two years as a substitute teacher at Overbrook High School. “It was a life-changing experience,” she said.
A NEW PERSPECTIVE

Having spent her childhood and adolescence at institutions of excellence within Philadelphia’s educational system, Overbrook was Gilmore Richardson’s first time seeing some of the difficulties facing the city’s schools. She admits to witnessing things in her classroom that she’d never seen before and found herself visiting students’ houses and buying them uniforms when they couldn’t afford it. When Gilmore Richardson visited AL DÍA on Dec. 11, she shared a specific story of a student who had trouble staying awake in one of her classes. “Why are you falling asleep?” she remembered asking him. At first, he was resistant to Gilmore Richardson’s daily inquiries, but she finally learned that his exhaustion came from having to stay up at night and protect his mother as she went to buy drugs on the street. It struck a chord in the young substitute teacher, who was reminded of her own life experience as an adopted child.

CREATING JOB OPPORTUNITIES
In the fall, City Council launched its Special Commission on Poverty Reduction and Prevention in arguably its most widespread and holistic approach to poverty to date. Gilmore Richardson said she’s “excited” to be a part of the discussions brought to Council by the Commission, and is specifically focusing on the educational solutions. Her approach involves making the Philadelphia high school

graduate as prepared as possible for university or professional life. “I learned working at Overbrook that not all of our young people will go to college, but they should be college, or career-ready at graduation,” said Gilmore Richardson. One way she wants to do that, is by committing to put more funding into Philadelphia’s trade schools to make them more accessible. She also wants to see more connections being made between graduates and the city’s corporate, nonprofit and government sectors to open up further opportunities for sustainable employment. “We can’t expect our external stakeholders like the corporate community, nonprofits and others to do all of this work alone,” she said. It all begins on January 6, 2020, when Gilmore Richardson and the rest of City Council's newest members are sworn in at The Met. ❚

ecember 22, 1977 was a clear day, perfect for the arrival in their native country of a group of young Cubans residing abroad. They had been taken out of Cuba as children by their parents. Nothing like this trip had happened since 1961 and it marked a before and after in the incipient relations that would develop between what is defined today as the Nation and its Emigration. The 55 young Cubans, eager to explore their roots, but also to see for themselves the reality of Cuba, distorted and demonized during many years by U.S. propaganda and its Cuban American allies, proudly took the name of general Antonio Maceo, one of Cuba’s greatest heroes of its wars of independence against Spain. The trip, the emotions, the moving and welcoming visits with family residing on the island are all documented in "55 hermanos," a film made by Cuban filmmaker Jesús Díaz (available on You Tube). “Today we pay tribute to those who no longer accompany us, Carlos Muñiz, Margarita Lejarza, the Gastón brothers, Dagmaris Cabeza, Jorge Cañas, Yoel Camayd, Elizardo Martínez and Onecys Villarreal Lemus,” said Raúl Álzaga, one of the founders of the Antonio Maceo Brigade and a resident of Puerto Rico. “Today we also greet the rest of the 55 brothers and sisters who continue to work for

ENGLISH itnessing the vote on the impeachment articles in the House of Representatives on Wednesday amounted to 11 hours of painful, almost childish exchanges between Republicans and Democrats. It was arguably the latest evidence of the erosion of American politics. One thing was clear, however: the Democratic caucus had research-based arguments to support the need to pass the articles on the abuse of power and obstruction of Congress, while the Republicans fell short of questionable counter-arguments rooted in troubling tribalism. For all of us who were attentive to the "I yield back" of each legislator, it was difficult to find any respectable media or commentator who could make the case for the president or his party on social media. Finally, with 230 votes in favor and 197 against, President Donald Trump was labeled on the floor of Congress as "an unorthodox president who has tested America's institutions with a series of uncontrolled actions," to quote the Washington Post.
W
ENGLISH These are three key issues in the impeachment vote:
1. THE LAST HEARTBEAT OF U.S. DEMOCRACY IS, WELL, ON THE DEMOCRATIC SIDE
Alexander Hamilton used to say that government was instituted "because the passions of man will not conform to the dictates of reason and justice without constraint.” That is why the Founding Fathers designed the impeachment process: to ensure that no man was above the law; that is, to avoid tyranny. It is very difficult, however, to understand how political partisanship works, especially when it is as fierce as it is today. Among Democrats, five people disagreed with the vote for both articles –two voted "no" on the first and three voted "no" on the second– and even Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii and candidate for the Democratic nomination) voted only "present" on both occasions. Let's just say that breaking with consensus has never been as laudable as it is in the Trump Era. Republicans, for their part, repeated in unison the script stipulated by the president, his advisers and Fox News, all voting against both articles. In fact, the only Republican to disagree with the Party and the president, Rep. Justin Amash of Michigan, had already resigned from the party and gone independent.
2. THE IMPORTANCE OF SYMBOLISM
No one can dispute the work of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi over the past year. From getting the job to keeping the president in line, the 79-year-old California representative has carried out the impeachment decision and investigation process with calculated sobriety. On Wednesday, while the younger members of the caucus and the general public were congratulating themselves by saying
8•
"Merry Impeachmas," Pelosi adopted mourning and sadness as symbols of what is really happening in the country. Wearing a long-sleeved black dress and an outstanding golden Ann Hand eagle brooch inspired by the symbolism of the sergeant-at-arms of the House, Pelosi wanted to make clear what she had said from the beginning: This is a sad moment for the country. "No one comes to Congress to impeach a president," the Speaker has often repeated, opening the vote by assuring that "the vision of our founders of a republic is threatened by the actions of the White House.”
3. THIS VOTE DOES NOT IMPLY THAT THE PRESIDENT IS REMOVED FROM OFFICE
No, Donald Trump will not pick up his bags and leave the White House after the Democratic majority in the House passed the impeachment articles. The issue is more complicated than that and, paradoxically, is likely to be resolved in a very simple way: the Republican majority in the Senate can vote to acquit him. But to do so, rules and procedures must be stipulated, for this is an unprecedented situation in the country. What is true is that the Republican majority controls the Senate and, in theory, it takes a twothirds vote to remove a president from office, and that is virtually impossible. For those who still had doubts, it was only a matter of listening again to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky tell the media that any decision they make regarding the Senate trial will be "coordinated" with the White House Counsel. (You can read our point two above and understand our argument.) However, the House of Representatives still has the advantage of deciding not to send the articles passed on Wednesday immediately to the Senate, and to wait for the rules of the trial to be established to act accordingly. "We are not sending (the articles) tonight because it’s difficult to determine who the managers would be until we see the arena in which we will be participating," Pelosi said in a press conference after the vote. "So far, we haven't seen anything that looks fair to us, so hopefully it will be fairer, and when we see what that is, we’ll send our managers.” ❚

ast month, the Urban Affairs Coalition celebrated 50 years during its annual Anniversary Breakfast event at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. The Urban Affairs Coalition (UAC) is a coalition of more than 80 partner organizations from the government, business, and neighborhood sectors. Founded in 1969, as a result of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s assassination and the civl unrest that was happening in the nation at the time, business and community leaders partnersed together to create the then-Philadelphia Urban Coalition, with the purpose of eliminating poverty, discrimination, and unrest while securing human and civil rights. During the Anniversary Breakfast last month, several speakers detailed the impact that the UAC has had across the region during its 50 years. “A world without the coalition would be one with far less equity, inclusion, and humani-

To honor the work that the UAC has done, Mergiotti announced a new $25,000 UAC competitive fellowship, named the Sharmain Matlock-Turner Legacy Project, after the coalition’s president. The fellowship will look to provide valuable opportunities for recent college graduates of color. With each program and initiative, the UAC’s main objective remains adhering to the community’s needs. “The work that this coalition does to give voice to the voiceless, to give voice to people who are struggling and striving and sacrificing for a better life for themselves, their families and their communities… is so central to our nation’s future,” said Senator Bob Casey. Several leaders were honored during the event, including Charisse R. Philadelphia Foundation, which celebrated its own milestone anniversary this year, also presented Sharmain Matlock-Turner with the inaugural Key to Community Leadership Award for embodying the vision of connecting, activating and accelerating change across the region, as well as for her fierce and fearless advocacy. As she accepted the award, Matlock-Turner showed great excitement and appreciation for the honor. “For me, it is always about trying to drive change and including everybody in it. And I believe in the glass half-full, I believe that things can change and that things can get better, and that if we do it together, it is lasting,” she said. ouncilmember Helen Gym is as comfortable among people in a crowd as she is giving speeches at a podium. Her ability to move within and between different groups might be the secret to the movement she is leading both in Philadelphia and on the national stage. It’s enough to see Helen Gym just once speaking in front of a crowd or circulating among protesters to understand that being around people is where she feels most at home. But, the Lizzo fanatic confesses that she also enjoys time spent alone, writing, thinking, reflecting, and reading. One of her favorite topics are books about what other people are doing to change the world around them, like “People like Us: The New Wave of Candidates Knocking at Democracy s Door” by Sayu Bhojwani. “I read for fun, sometimes I like to read poetry, but mostly I am a journalist, so I like reading journalism,” she explains. “I love the idea of the intrepid journalist who would go everywhere, see things and change the world.” It’s a curiosity and a passion that comes from her childhood growing up in Columbus, Ohio, as “the only Asian kid.” Feeling that she did not fit the model of a “blonde cheerleader,” she pursued other interests, like reading, and looked up to characters like Wonder Woman. The description of the superhero, Diana, says: “Beautiful as Aphrodite,
ENGLISH wise as Athena, swifter than Hermes, and stronger than Hercules, Princess Diana of Themyscira fights for peace in Man's World.” Just like the journalist in her books and Wonder Woman, Helen Gym has dedicated her career to seeking justice and supporting others in that fight. In 2000, before she ran for public office, Gym led the campaign “Stadium Out of Chinatown Coalition,” that stopped the construction of a baseball stadium in the neighborhood in an attempt to prevent gentrification and displacement of the area’s longtime residents. Eight years later, she found herself fighting a similar battle, opposing the Foxwoods Casino construction on Chinatown. Over the years, Gym has worked as a community organizer for education reform, co-founded Parents United for Public Education and the Philadelphia Public School Notebook, and has even been honored by the White House with a Cesar Chavez Champion of Change. In 2016, Gym decided to step into politics and make change happen from the legislative branch. Her background in activism, the support of her family, and the coalition of groups and communities she had worked with as an organizer helped her become the first Asian-American woman elected to Philadelphia City Council with 145,087 votes. “Time is limited, I definitely feel the pressure of time and you know, opportunity can only happen at certain points

If you look back on 2019 in Philadelphia, it was another year the city took a leap to the left in both leadership and policy. Many would call it a “progressive” push, but Gym isn’t big on labels. “It is kind of funny, but I saw this ad during the elections that was like, ‘the radical left is trying to take over Philadelphia,’” Gym said. Her reaction? “If the radical left means quality public schools, clean drinking water, and a roof over people's heads, then I'm happy to be part of that mission and vision,” she told AL DIA. But if anything, she considers her work to be more "populist than progressive.” Yet, this imposed characterization, she says, comes from seldom-updated political language, that brands her as “progressive” for supporting legislation and movements that “provide immediate and fundamental human rights needs” for people. “What’s happening to their kids in schools? Do they feel

ENGLISH safe on the street? Can they afford transit and a bus pass to work? Does the water turn on and will it be safe? Can I predict that I will be able to pay my rent this month?” said Gym of the questions that drive her focus as a legislator. In 2018, that meant fighting for and passing a Fair Work Week bill to expand workers’ rights in the city. Inside City Council’s chambers this year, she has both introduced and backed over 230 bills to continue that message. For one, after securing money for a legal fund to represent residents facing eviction, Gym built on the victory by passing a bill this year requiring free legal counsel for low-income Philadelphians. She’s also been a major part of making Philadelphia one of
the most LGBTQ-friendly cities in the country. In the area of transgender rights, Gym introduced and passed three bills. The first deals with potential discrimination at Philly’s youth-serving organizations by requiring them to create policies protecting trans and non-binary youth, and then display those policies on their websites and inside their physical locations. The second bill updated City Hall’s historic facilities and the rest of the city’s by requiring gender neutral bathrooms. The final bill expanded the definitions of gender identity and sexual orientation in the city’s Fair Practice Ordinance. Another bill Gym also sponsored in 2019, alongside the bill’s primary legislative sponsor, Councilwoman Maria

ENGLISH Quiñones-Sanchez, was the Domestic Workers Bill of Rights, which will provide labor protections to the city’s 16,000 nannies, housekeepers, and caretakers in what has been acknowledged by many as the strongest such legislation in the country. But for all she’s achieved inside City Hall, a large part of Gym’s impact and appeal also comes from her past as an organizer - and the ways in which she continues to apply the organizer mindset as a councilmember. If you ask Gym about her favorite achievements from the past year, both involve organizing people outside of her office behind issues and getting results. Issue-wise, she’s most proud of her office’s efforts around calling for the closing of Glen Mills Reform School after a Philadelphia Inquirer investigation revealed extensive abuse by faculty towards students. The school was eventually closed. Other organizing efforts from Gym’s office over the year included fighting the closure of Hahnemann University Hospital alongside its thousands of employees (which also led to her passing legislation in Council), standing with DACA recipients part of the Home is Here movement when they came to Philly, and calling for the closures of the Philadelphia Refinery after part of it exploded and the Berks County deten-

2019 ELECTIONS
All that organizing outside her office and across the city has made Gym by far the most popular City Councilmember in Philadelphia. If you don’t believe it, just look at the vote tallies from this year’s primary and general elections. Gym does benefit from being an at-large, city-wide candidate, but her approximately 107,000 votes in May’s primary were more than anyone had received in recent history. For perspective, in 2007, when Mayor Jim Kenney was the most popular councilmember, he brought in about 95,000 votes. Gym followed up her performance in May by reeling in over 200,000 in the November general election. Gym’s influence extended beyond her own victory. The

PORTADA ENGLISH councilmember’s support was a significant factor in the success of third-party candidate Kendra Brooks in claiming one of the two at-large minority seats as a rep from the Working Families Party. Gym and Brooks are friends from their days of organizing around education. For her, Brooks’ triumph was also one of her favorite moments of the year. Back in November, AL DIA was present at Brooks’ election party. Gym was one of the people invited to be on stage with Brooks as she announced the results. When her victory was announced, Gym could not contain her excitement. With bright eyes and a big smile on her face, she jumped and clapped, waiting her turn to give Brooks a celebratory hug. It was an uncommon scene in a field, and a society, that tends to pit women against each other. “I think it is essential for women to support women, but I also think it is incredibly hard to do it,” Gym explained. “It is not like, ‘Oh! We are all women, we all get along,’ the opposite is true. We are encouraged not to get along so you have to very consciously break that. When Kendra won I feel like we made it together, we did it together.” It was a victory hard earned by Brooks in the midst of Gym going against the wishes of the Democratic establishment in Philly to support her campaign. There was pushback against Gym’s decision to cross the aisle, but to her thinking, the strength of a wider movement she sees herself as being a part of is what prevailed. Her widespread success places her on a short list of potential candidates for mayor in 2023. Gym admits the mention is exciting, but at the moment she is more focused on accomplishing more goals over the next four years. After all, she has never been into “celebrity politicians.” For her, “Council is not about us individually becoming a superstar, is about us pulling a body together that could harness the power to really create amounts of change.”❚
“I love the idea of the intrepid journalist who would go everywhere, see things and change the world.”

Their work, like that of the little elves who work for Santa, is hard and constant: Tlalpujahua is one of the first places in production of Christmas ornaments worldwide and around 37 million units are made, 60% of which are exported to Argentina, the United States, Canada, Malaysia, Japan and some European countries.
THE SPHERE FAIR
The municipality is so famous that it holds its annual Sphere Fair, which welcomes thousands of national and international tourists looking for unique and handcrafted decorations to decorate their homes at Christmas. But what makes them so special?
20 •
Above all, their careful elaboration, which sometimes requires up to seven people to make a single sphere in the nearly 150 manufacturing workshops in the village. But also the great variety of models: up to 400 different ones, points out El Heraldo de México. And with prices that can reach up to $10, depending on the size and decoration, which is also of the most varied, from drawings of Santa Claus to painted unicorns, according to taste. That includes models that adorned the Vatican in 2012 and had not been presented before. While red is, along with green, the color of Christmas, this year the matte shades set the trend, says the manufacturer Alfredo Muñoz Ruiz to El Universal. "We are practically every year at international fairs in Germany or New York, which are setting the trends for us to follow," he says. If it wasn't enough to consider Tlalpujahua the Latin Lapland, they even have the House and Village of Santa Claus, which simulates the street of Bavaria, in Rothenburg, in honor of the first spherical artisans of the world.❚

sually we only think about our health when there is something wrong. But for Dr. Patricia Guerra-García and other doctors, it’s essential that we all pay attention to our daily habits to better cultivate our health and well-being, long before we find ourselves in a health emergency situation. One of her goals as a physician with Independence Blue Cross is to ensure that people have access to the insurance and preventative health care that they need to stay healthy all year long. “Ever since I was a little kid, I wanted to be a doctor and help people,” Guerra-García said. “Most people think about visiting the doctor only when they’re sick, [but] it is important to visit the doctor also to stay healthy. or lo general, solo pensamos en nuestra salud cuando nos pase algo malo y no tenemos otra opción.

care, we’re able to identify illnesses earlier, we are able to manage the conditions more effectively, and treat them before they become more complicated or debilitating,” she added. Dr. Guerra-García recommends that everyone make at least one visit to their primary care physician per year, and she also suggests choosing your doctor according to your language needs or other preferences. IBX offers a way to find Spanish-speaking doctors, for example, on their website and mobile app. If you want to start investing in your health, here are five things you can start focusing on, says the physician: Drink water. Sounds simple enough, right? But to consume a good two liters (8 cups) worth of water a day often takes a concerted effort, said Dr. Guerra-García—one that is certainly worth making. You should try to complete your glasses of water before the evening and avoid drinking a lot of water at night to avoid it affecting your sleep (more on that later). Eat healthfully. Start with practicing portion control, says Dr. Guerra-García. Stick to one plate’s worth of food at a meal. Ideally, your plate should be one half vegetables, one fourth lean proteins, and another fourth should be whole grains. You also need 2-3 fruits per day. Though it’s important to stay away from eating trans fats and saturated fats, you need healthy fats in your daily diet, of the sort found in olive oil, canola oil, salmon, nuts, eggs, avocado, yogurt, or dairy. The physician says that one way to kick off the new year is by clearing your kitchen of high calorie foods or junk foods, and replacing them with healthier alternatives before the calendar switches over to 2020. Exercise. The American Heart Association (AHA) recommends 150 minutes, or two and a half hours, of moderate intensi-

ty aerobic exercise, which includes activities such as walking briskly, dancing, or riding a bike at less than 10 miles per hour. AHA also says that 75 minutes of vigorous exercise (running and high intensity activities), said Dr. Guerra-García. Even if you can’t get to a gym, the physician suggests building movement into your daily routine. “Every little bit adds up,” she says, noting that that might mean parking farther away from the entrance to get in a few extra steps, taking the stairs instead of an elevator, and getting off the bus a stop earlier to walk a little bit farther. “You can get creative, you just have to think about it that you have to get done,” Dr. Guerra-García says. Get sleep. The recommended amount of sleep that people should get on average is 7-8 hours of sleep each night. Basic sleep hygiene means you should “try not to bring your worries to your bed,” Dr. Guerra-García says. You should avoid bringing your phone or a bright light to your bed so that you can fall asleep more quickly while experiencing a better quality of sleep. Connect with others and take care of your mental health. Socialize. Take care of your relationships. Get some kind of health screening for mental health. Latinos and women especially, Dr. Guerra-García said, can find a lot of support from family members and friends, but sometimes it is necessary to speak up and reach out to a behavioral health provider if you are struggling with your mental health. It’s important, and it’s also connected to your physical well-being. “It’s hard to say what started first, depression to physical health conditions or vice versa—they are intertwined,” says Dr. Guerra-García. “Now we look at patients from a holistic way. An integrated approach.” For more information on IBX health insurance plans and general health tips, check out the website www.ibx4you.com ❚

y full name is Julio Aviles. I was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, but was raised in Mayaguez, a city located to the west and home to the only zoo on the island. It was in Mayaguez that I attended the University of Puerto Rico at the local campus and received my bachelor’s degrees in business administration, majoring in accounting. After graduating, I moved to San Juan to kickstart my career in finance and in 2019, made the move to Philadelphia. Before moving to Philadelphia, I was a controller for Fortune 500 medical device company, Baxter International for eight years. At Baxter, I was responsible for accounting and financial activities for the Puerto Rico and Caribbean regions, working closely with various departments in the business, such as marketing, supply chain, sales, human resources and others. In 2017, an opportunity arose at Johnson & Johnson in Trenton, New Jersey, and I jumped at the opportunity that eventually led me here, to Philadelphia. At Johnson & Johnson, I managed financial planning in one of their medical device franchises, which included operations across the U.S., Puerto Rico, Latin America and Europe. Today, I work as a Finance Manager for Aetna Inc., a CVS Health company, in Center City, which I joined in 2018. At Aetna, I manage all accounting and financial responsibilities for the Medicaid line of business for all Pennsylvania.

In my personal time, I very much enjoy traveling and experiencing different cultures, people and food. Some of my favorite travel adventures include skydiving in Las Vegas, cruising around the Mediterranean Sea and river rafting, ziplining and volcano climbing in Costa Rica. To me, there is nothing better than discovering something you have never seen or tried when visiting somewhere new. In my opinion, the key to success is being true to yourself, while being confident, motivated and persistent. As someone who has remained true to who I am at every stage of my career, I have built that confidence to achieve any goal ahead of me that I have set for myself – but that is not without a good bit of motivation and persistence. One very important person who inspires me every day is my father, Julio. He was a business owner and as I was growing up, I saw firsthand how success does not come without hard work and persistent progress toward achieving your goals. I will always carry the lessons he taught me from a very early age into every stage of my life and career. One year from now, I would like to have acquired new professional certifications on leadership and management. Five years from now, I expect to have developed new skills in my career and have obtained a higher managerial position within a company that supports me in pursuit of my professional goals. ❚
