COLOMBIA THE MOMENT OF THE LEFT IN COLOMBIA

Gustavo Petro won this June 19 the presidential elections in Colombia and will govern in the period 2022-2026. It is the fi rst time that the left has won the presidency in that country. At his side is Francia Márquez, the fi rst Afro-Colombian to hold the Vice-Presidency. Petro obtained 50.44% of the votes over the right-wing candidate, Rodolfo Hernández. Gustavo Petro ganó este 19 de junio las elecciones presidenciales en Colombia y gobernará en el periodo 2022-2026. Es la primera vez que la izquierda gana la presidencia en ese país. A su lado está Francia Márquez, la primera afrocolombiana en ocupar la Vicepresidencia. Petro obtuvo el 50,44% de los votos sobre el candidato de la derecha, Rodolfo Hernández.
