SPOTLIGHT Jennifer Felts Label: Tokyo Twiggy Indianapolis, IN In her own words… Raised in Dallas,Texas, my passion for fashion grew as I traveled around the world. First place i traveled to abroad was Japan, so it holds a special place in my heart. I love learning new crafts and evolving. As a designer, I strive to keep people guessing. I don’t want to produce art that has been done before. I am not afraid to branch out and experiment with new techniques and styles. I keep evolving my craft each day. My style is usually edgy and colorful. I believe fashion should be for everyone and anyone. It should be able to cross cultures, races, gender, and expression. I try to design for someone who wants to express themselves. My designs are meant for all kinds of women in different sizes and ethnicity. I continuously push myself to find solutions to different design problems.
- - Jennifer was the headlining designer at the Alabama Fashion Alliance’s 2019 Fashion Weekend Alabama in Huntsville, AL. She is also Indiana Fashion Week’s 2019 Emerging Designer of the Year - My style has several different reoccurring themes. One is Culture. I am always inspired by cultures and different patterns/silhouettes that each culture has. Another is origami. I use origami to inspire silhouettes and textile prints. Whimsical is the last one. All my designs and work have an edgy mood, but is also pretty whimsical. The mixing of patterns and asymmetrical silhouettes help create the whimsical feel. I am skilled in many fields in the fashion world including design, concept, illustration, graphic design and textile design. Each of my works complement each other.
