West Africa’s favourite IP backbone solutions provider, Suburban is one of the fastest growing companies in Nigeria with a robust multi-backbone carrier network.
Our History Suburban Telecom was initially incorporated as a consulting, research and development oriented solution and equipment provider with a strong entrepreneurial spirit. Based on its research findings and market knowledge, the original founders of the company were able to capitalize on the market opportunities available in the deregulated Nigerian telecommunications market to set up cost effective transport and switching network infrastructure. Before long, Suburban became the largest private supplier of satellite based connectivity solutions and developed a competence in deploying and operating transmission networks primarily within the West African terrain. The company continues with its network expansion into other West African markets, with the deployment of cross border networks into the Benin Republic and Ghana. Anticipating the need for Next Generation technology, Suburban proceeded to implement a technology refresh on its network. The result was a fiber optic based Next Generation Network that serves as the backbone for the global connectivity solutions it offers to its customers.
