Without a doubt the piece of property on which I decided to build my home is among the finest I have ever seen. From my first trip down the long, private drive I was hooked. The long, rolling lawn, the mature trees and plantings, and the waterfront vistas of the Atlantic are unparalleled on the South Shore. The site is quiet, private and serene, but also enjoys easy access to the highway and Plymouth’s vibrant downtown scene. Sunrise and sunset are magical times at this coastal site regardless of the time of year, and if you relish feeling connected to nature, you will enjoy a front row seat here as you are immersed in all the beauty of New England’s ever changing seasons. Whether you plan for an entertaining lifestyle, or want to use the home as a quite retreat from a busy life, the ocean-side deck will perfectly complement either desire. Being a veteran of two significant home renovations, and a previous large custom home building project, you can rest assured that all my construction experience was distilled into this special home. My experience as a professional chef informed the design of the kitchen, always the center of any home, and I wouldn’t hesitate to put it up against any other with regard to its beauty, quality, and outstanding functionality. If you enjoy cooking, you will not find a finer home kitchen to play in. I could go on and on about all the things I love about this home, but a visit to 216 Warren Ave. will tell you more about this special place than I ever could in a short letter. If you should decide to make my home your next residence, I trust that you will love it just as much as I have.

This custom built home enjoys almost 3 acres of rolling lawn, mature trees and plantings, a long driveway greets your arrival to unparalleled views of the Atlantic and sight to a magnificent architecturally designed 8,000 square foot home built just 7 years ago. Stairs off your back yard lead you to a large Ocean-side deck, with views of Gurnet Head and Saquish Beach and the most stunning sunsets and sunrises you will ever see. If you relish feeling connected to nature, you will enjoy a front row seat here as you are immersed in all the beauty of New England’s ever changing seasons. A stand alone barn with half bathroom and heat, a garden shed with electricity, water and custom shelving, a private, vinyl outdoor shower and two stunning Bluestone patios complete the grounds.

The design of the home is what you see on Nantucket, with natural wood shingles, white trim and stone fireplace. The combination of half-paned windows, transom windows, and fully paned floor-to-ceiling windows along with the dormer and the cupola above the two-car garage all add to its craftsman charm. The paved driveway turns into beautiful, white stone as you pull in closer to the home.

As you enter this gourmet kitchen from the mud room, your eyes immediately graze over the large Island to the panoramic views of the vast, Atlantic blue ocean. The oversized windows show the water so clear as if it’s a breathtaking painting ceiling high. It’s overwhelming, yet calming. This kitchen was custom built for someone who has a deep passion for making incredible meals, and entertaining guests. Designed meticulously by a Le Cordon Bleu chef, you’ll notice the two zones that make the kitchen – the first is the main island, or cooking zone. The main island features Silestone counter tops and a custom concrete breakfast bar designed by Livingstone Concrete Studio, a MIELE dishwasher, a deep stainless steel sink, MIELE microwave and deep extensive storage drawers to store the most essential ingredients. Top of the line appliances include a French WOLF 4-burner gas cook top with vent to the outside, a SUB-ZERO refrigerator, MIELE conventional oven, MIELE steam oven, and MIELE warming drawer. The second zone is the island facing the dining area. This zone feeds the table, with a serving area, it’s own sink, second MIELE dishwasher and trash compactor for easy cleaning, “red dragon” granite countertops and wide drawers for flatware that can be custom arranged to fit any dish big or small. Every glass, every spice, every cutting board and knife has a home.

The stainless steel open-shelf concept is masterfully designed and featured in this highly functional kitchen. The Onyx tile back splash and underneath cabinet lighting are also features in this kitchen. A chef’s walk in pantry with a second AMANA refrigerator is a dream come true for any kitchen lover. Last but not least, a small breakfast nook rests just beyond the islands facing the water. With a long, comfortable window seat that includes storage and a built in bookshelf to hold the world’s finest of cookbooks. Right here is where you start your morning. Look beyond the water to the horizon and you’ll find Gurnet Point and Saquish Beach. You’ll see the white sandy beaches of Plymouth Long Beach to your left with views of the Waterfront in the distance. A feeling of calmness fills your body as you sip your coffee, music on the surround system throughout the entire home and watch the birds fly overhead and the tall cattails swaying in the warm breeze.

Productivity is no problem in this room with built in storage and filing cabinets under the “red dragon granite window seat, custom shelving, extra desk space and French doors leading to a closet where the brains of the home are held including the whole home audio system. The entire coast line can be seen from your office chair. The panoramic views of the Atlantic ocean and the warmth of the gas fireplace might shift your concentration from your work, but these types of distractions are usually welcome.

The Master Suite rests on the second floor facing the ocean. Two frosted French doors lead to the Master Suite with cathedral ceilings, recessed lighting and beautiful large windows that allow an abundance of bright, natural light in and incredible views. Enjoy the convenience of not one, but two walk-in closets with custom built shelving. Another set of French doors lead to a mahogany balcony off of the master bedroom for those mornings warm enough to lounge outside. The master bath hosts a gorgeous soaking tub, double vanities and an extra large, beautifully marble tiled shower with 3 shower heads, seat and stone flooring. Did we mention radiant floor heating?

This is the heart of the home. Built with an open concept design where capturing the Atlantic views was kept in mind at all times. Wall to wall and floor to ceiling energy star French doors and transom windows adorn the entire ocean facing side of the room, letting in incredible lighting. 9-foot high coffered ceilings, a custom gas fireplace with slate surround mantel, surround sound and light bamboo radiant heated flooring are also the room’s features.

The lower level is playground heaven, featuring a gymnasium and full bathroom, a large movie theater, a craft room, and behind that beautiful yellow wooden door that once acted as the front door to the original home, is an over 90 sq ft temperature controlled wine cellar.

A mudroom built for active kids, with cubbies and drawers to hide away those dirty shoes and keep the entryway organized. The dark floors radiate heat to warm your toes when your take off your shoes after a long day. You can head every which way from the mudroom – upstairs to the kids’ bedroom quarters, down to the movie theater, to the kitchen, out to the ocean or to the garage. The options are endless and it’s a perfect meeting place when playing with friends.
