The scale and complexity of retail podium required additional support to the team. Alongside working on the office tower, I have been tasked to develop the design geometry into structurally sound systems. This process

helped drive the structure choice for feature attractions of the podium as well as material choices. Structural systems were set and sometimes required massing adjustments to fulfill structural integrity. +37.5 M

WIEN NEU MUSEUM Intervention in Historic Karlplatz

May 2015 Vienna, AT Studio Link-Arc

PHASE : Competition ROLE : Key member design team (3 people)

Design of a museum extension in Vienna Karlplatz at the border of the historical district of City Center. Not only a museum, the proposal aims to solve chaotic situation of the plaza overall and reestablish Karl Church as a prominent monument. The exhibition spaces are transfered to the extension’s volumes both overground and underground. The park is given large greens to address the lack of nature within the city and respond to the need of civic spaces bordered by many institutions and universities.

BAUHAUS MUSEUM Museum in a Park

March 2015 Dessau, DE Studio Link-Arc

PHASE : Competition ROLE : Key member design team (3 people)

In the past two decades the assumed need for ‘ultra-flexible black box museum space’ has resulted in a disorientating and faceless museum volume that can be placed anywhere in the world with little or no relationship to context. The open floor plate and flexible space that curators have once desired so much has become an Achilles heel of exhibition design and engaging museum experience: an empty vessel, empty of inspiration, empty of a truly unique experience for the visitor. Our proposal seeks to undermine this trend by readdressing the museum and exhibition paradigm as both an exhibition specific and place specific response to the program requirements.

LAKEFRONT KIOSK Face the City / Filter the Nature

March 2015 Chicago, IL Studio Link-Arc

PHASE : Competition ROLE : Project Architect lead (3 people team)

The kiosk, in modern times, is very much restricted to minimal square footage and maximum function, stripped from non-quantifiable spaces. This design addresses the question of how to reintroduce the notion of a non-quantifiable social space as expressed in the ancient idea of a kiosk. The design has been centered on the use of simple wood modules. Each piece is parametrically tagged and located to ease installation. The enclosure system let the air, sounds and smells of the landscape and the lake permeate through to be an immersive experience, yet offering a refuge during the cold months.

LAB CITY Ecole Centrale

Turn a «Black Out» into a Field of knowledge In an era of privatization, cities are facing a major challenge: investment in the public domain depends increasingly on the private sector. As a result of this reframing of the collective agreement, the role of architecture often misses

its potential contribution to a new educational, social and civic dimension. The Ecole Centrale competition of a new engineering school has become the perfect opportunity to explore ways to answer this demanding challenge.

FAMILY HOUSE

House extension: traditional and contemporary

August 2009 Finistère, FR DL Architecture

PHASE : Building Permit ROLE : Main executant under architect supervision

This house extension is designed on top of ruins of previous farm corpus. The new body of the house is meant to express complementarity with the existant stone house and at the same time offer all the advantages of a new construction - space, comfort, economy of energy, new materials, and light. The Bretagne region is indeed a very traditionnal place concerning house construction with a strong expression of vernacular style. Simplicity and sobriety were our tool to find the aesthetic contrast with the existant.

MAGNUM Gallery Remodeling in medieval Saint Germains

Jun - Sept 2009 Paris VI, FR DL Architecture

PHASE : SC to Remodel Permit ROLE : Main executant under architect supervision

MAGNUM - an american photographer collective internationally famous for their work - took the opportunity to reattribute their office space in the historical parisian district of Saint Germains and give room for a ground floor Photography Gallery. The process was delicate since the claystone building already had several lives and dated back from the XVIIth Century. Along several interactions with the client, fine detailing of exhibition wall panels and furniture project made their way to completion.
