This class is a fun art workshop for kids in which we’ll be doing both directed and independent projects. Students will have the opportunity to work in both 2-D and 3-D art by exploring a variety of art materials and related tools. $25 material fee paid to the instructor on first day of class.
Take a walk on the wild side & explore working with leather in this next level jewelry making class. You’ll explore leatherworking techniques such as dying, stamping & burnishing! Learn the properties of leather and jewelry making how to combine them into enviable wearable art. Material Fee: $10 paid directly to the instructor on class date

Write On! Creative Writing Labs AGES 8 -13
For both the enthusiastic and reluctant writer, this fiveweek intensive course aims to make writing fun! Students will stretch their imaginations and writing skills through collaborative and individual writing games that explore various types of writing, including mystery stories, choose-your-own-adventure multi-ending stories and for this class only - multimedia writing games and monologues to be recorded and presented. Students will edit and polish their best work to be published in a magazine. Optional writing exercises will be offered in between classes along with feedback on students' writing. Previous students are encouraged to attend!

Art Exploration Studio for Kids
Instructor Abby Skrivan, a veteran 8th Grade English teacher at Albany Middle School, has been running the after-school and summer Write-On Creative Writing Labs for fifteen years.
Tap into your natural creative talents and personal style by designing your own jewelry! Create customized jewelry for you and your friends to wear by choosing from a huge selection of hot colors, textures, and unique beads to make one-of-a-kind pieces. Students will begin with the basics by getting to know the tools of the trade and then practice beaded jewelry making skills such as crimping, bead stringing and designing their own pieces. You’ll walk away with the knowledge to make your own beaded jewelry and have 2-3 pieces to wear! Material Fee: $10 paid directly to the instructor on class date.

Beginning Cartooning - Anyone can do this class - if you have a pencil & an imagination! This class will help develop your drawing skills & creativity. Design an original cartoon character. Understand the creative process and development of a cartoon from brainstorming. Create a comic strip and comic book.
