ATC DUAL ENROLLMENT STUDENTS

Recognized Spring 2023 with 124 Degrees, Diplomas and Certificates Earned

One hundred twenty-four students in total will be recognized as Dual Enrolled high school students who graduate with either an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree, a diploma, or a Technical Certificate of Credit. Two separate ceremonies will occur at Albany Technical College (ATC) Friday, April 14, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and another from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. honoring the Dual Enrollment graduates from Albany Technical College. The 9:00 a.m. ceremony will be a pathway signing and include 14 students earning an AAS degree. At 3:00 p.m., 110 students will be recognized and encouraged to “Elevate Your Potential” after earning a diploma or a technical certificate of credit.

“We wanted to celebrate their outstanding achievements and bring attention to their accomplishments,” said Barbara Brown, Vice President of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management. “Albany Technical College is extremely proud of the achievements of the Dual Enrolled students and eagerly anticipates hearing about their future successes.”

With the Georgia Dual Enrollment program, all Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) colleges are witnessing success, particularly those moving to four-year universities to obtain higher degrees. The goal is to spotlight these students each academic year and motivate other graduates who did not graduate with a degree to go ahead and elevate their education by moving from a diploma to a degree or from a technical certificate of credit to a diploma.

“The Georgia Dual Enrollment program is among the top programs available for high school students. We encourage local area students to talk to their parents and take advantage of this state-supported opportunity. Albany Technical College offers a chance to accelerate high school students into careers right here in the local community,” said Dr. Emmett Griswold, President of Albany Technical College.
