Seniors Learn about Web-Based Programs & Apps
The Covid-19 pandemic created a new reliance on the internet for socialization, communication and commerce. With that reliance, those individuals who are not internet savvy are at a disadvantage. The Center for Business Solutions created a course to help senior citizens, and others with limited computer knowledge, navigate webbased apps to stay connected.
The first Seniors Staying Connected course was offered in April as an in-person course with Covid-19 safety protocols in place. The class was so popular, CBS offered it again in June.
The course instructor was Jason Cadogan, a Multi-Media Specialist in Albany Tech’s Marketing and PR Department. In the class, he explained web browsers, searching the internet, downloading files, browser settings, safe practices for surfing the internet, Facebook and Instagram, understanding apps, and much more.
