The thesis is placed in the broad range of mountain contemporary architecture, proposing a bivouac at high altitude, which is different in concept and appearance, from the previous configurations. The bivouac has a vertical arrangement and is therefore composed of an outer shell in composite materials, with crystal clear suggestion that arises in coexistence with the high-mountain landscape. The external volume is equal to 50 m3, hosting a maximum of 12 people, including equipment. The base has a very small ground footstep surface, equal to 2.50 m2, and contains the electrical energy and rainwater storage systems. The internal structure is made from aluminum profiles and can accommodate climbers on two different functional levels. The internal environment is set in communication with the outside through a number of openings, that allow internal natural lighting and its placing on particularly scenic views.

An educational workshop, developed jointly by the Polytechnic university of Turin and the municipality of Roccasparvera. The proposal, through the organization of an educational site, provided the restoration of a seventeenth century fountain in the village of Tetti Beraudo, funded in part with funds arising from the Polytechnic Institute and external companies. Organizing this experience has allowed me to ask myself how professionals relates to institutions and local residents, according to an entire architectural process, from the meta stage through to construction. This intervention, in addition to generating a beneficial media coverage of the village, allowed the renewal of the living conditions of those who inhabit the mountain, increasing the chances of enjoyment of a territory; common theme in my master’s thesis as well. The architecture that arises from these intentions drives the rebirth of places almost forgotten, therefore remains at the service of people, becoming the most tangible sign of a shared successfull process.

The teaching involves redrawing a house, existing or simply designed, with the help of Autodesk Revit BIM software. The plan is to work directly on a three-dimensional model, where you can get all the classic performances, plus the ability to create multiple views and renderings that greatly increase the perception of architecture in its essence.

The area of the former cafeteria of the Palazzo Bricherasio needs to be converted into a temporary shop. The research developed on the meaning of the word temporary, led to the realization of a series of display elements that were at the same time furnishing objects and strong internal characterization, toghether with the possibility of assembling and disassembling them quickly and easily. This raises the modular concept of the exhibitor “Triangolo”, which is joined by element “Wave”, which opened in stylistic contrast with the first and creates niches, dressing rooms and crates. The project was finally taken care of under the aspect of lighting, thanks to the use of Dialux software, providing equipment with LED technology, distributed in such a way as to ensure, in passageways, a maintained illuminance of 200 lux.

The work has been developed on the urban part that stands between the denser and organized tissue of Turin’s outskirts and the natural area along the river Stura. This is a situation in which fringe industrial presences are intermingled with portions of residential or mixed tissue. The hypothesis is that this band works as an osmotic membrane that shows, on the inside, the characters of the separated parts: a privileged place to articulate the relationship between the city and the river. The project has attempted to increase the porosity of this fringe considering its conformation in detail. The situations of which the membrane is composed are assimilated to materials with different porosity and characteristics (concrete, steel, brick, sponge) that were imagined to be exposed to various corrosion processes in order to promote spaces and sharing opportunities more intense current ones.

The project involves the construction of a system of connected walkways, built over the existing buildings. The areas in blue are semi public, as governed by and attributable to private owners’ space, shown here in red. The Design Unit involves the construction of a roof that hosts events and performances at high altitude, situated in front of Ceresole’s Massimo Mila retreat. The work has led to the implementation of the concept of a pile of wood that becomes an object strongly inorganic, thus accepting the human being inside of itself. The cover is then made with a massive hollow boxes construct made from laminated wood beams. Their main characteristic is to be traversable by visitors, who can enter into and then walk into the architecture.

The theme of the design workshop is the superelevation of an existing masonry building, following a default structural pattern, which involves the construction of three new floors above ground, directly supported by a steel structure. The case study is a small building, located in the center of Turin, which is supposed to be used as a residence for students / guesthouse. This choice was motivated by the small size of the existing plan, and the will to decline an existing architecture into one capable of redefining the concept of hospitality through temporary spaces featuring high architectural quality. The choice is for a dry construction system that takes advantage of high thermo-acoustic performance shows a main faรงade covered with NBK pattern ceramic tiles.
