METAL DECK
METAL DECK TYPE “E” - GALVALUME™ The TYPE E panel is a best-selling for exposed metal roofing and siding applications because its soft lines are architecturally attractive, while the deep ribs provide strength and weatherproof construction. All panels are precision rollformed from hot dipped GALVALUME™ coated steel conforming to ASTM specifications A792-89, Grade 50B for structural quality sheet having a minimum yield strength of 50,000 p.s.i. GALVALUME™ sheet alloy coating is typically 55% aluminum, 1.6% silicon and the balance zinc. Applied to the substrate steel by a patented hot-dip process results in a highly corrosion resistant sheet steel. Each TYPE E panel provides a net coverage width of 36” in. and is fabricated to custom lengths up to 35’ ft. thus requiring fewer laps and allowing faster construction. 36” 12” 1 3/8”

TYPE “B” ROOF DECK Type “B” 1.5 is a wide rib steel deck that can be used as Composite Steel Floor Deck, Non-Composite Steel Form Deck or Steel Roof Deck.Type B1.5 Composite Steel Floor Deck acts at the positive bending reinforcement for structural concrete. After the concrete hardens, the steel deck and the concrete are interlocked by the shape of the deck, mechanical means, surface bond or by a combination of these means. Type “B” 1.5 Non-Composite Steel Form Deck is used as form for reinforced concrete slabs. Type “B” 1.5 Steel Roof Deck is used as the support of roofing materials and design live loads primarily for roof construction with rigid insulation board and built-up roofing. Type “B” 1.5 Deck is roll-formed from steel conforming to ASTM A653 Structural Quality, Grade 40, with a G-90 hot dipped galvanized coating. Finished panels provide a net coverage of 36 in. and are manufactured to custom length up to 35 feet.

1. Loads shown in tables are uniformly distributed total (dead plus live) loads in psf. All loads are governed by the allowable flexural stress limit of 20 ksi (0.6 of minimum yield strength of steel). Figures in shaded areas are governed by live load deflection not in excess of L/240 when a dead load of 10 psf is assumed. 2. Multiple span loads shown are based on equal adjacent spans. Tabulated loads may not apply for adjacent spans that differ in length by more than 10%. 3. Load tables are calculated using Section Properties based on the specified design thickness listed by the Steel Deck Institute "Design 3.Manual". Delivered minimum thickness shall be not less than 95% of the design thickness. 4. When heavy construction loads or other unusual concentrated loads are contemplated, the required live loads must be increased to account for the anticipated concentrated loading. . 5. Span length assumes center to center spacing of supports. Tabulated loads may not be increased by assuming clear span dimensions. 6. When used for roof construction in conjunction with light-weight insulating concrete fill, the sheets form a structural deck which supports the total weight of slab and roofing materials plus the desired live loads. Actual deflections are much less than those tabulated below because of the composite action between the insulating concrete and steel deck. When the deck is used only as a form for structural concrete slabs, the total loads on the sheets consists of the weight of the wet concrete plus some arbitrary live load for construction traffic. In this case, the tabulated deflections are actual deflections.

Metal Deck, Purlings & Standing Seam ROOF SYSTEM STANDING SEAM ROOF SYSTEM PLATINUM SERIES
16”/18”
Utilizing a unique patented seam design that offers two lock seam features. The Triple-Lok and Quad-Lok. A revolutionary innovation that provides unparalleled performance from one profile. The Triple-Lok seam is accomplished by seaming the entire seam with an electrical seamer. This seam will provide an allowable wind uplift loading of 56 psf.* 1. It’s the only seam on the market to use the 360º + 90º seam, which: • Structurally isolates the seam from the effects of severe wind loading by placing load resisting bends between the seam and clip hook and the stresses of panel deflection. • Isolates the seam sealant from dislodgment or separation during severe wind loading, thereby assuring a water resistant seam throughout the life of the roof. 2. Fool-proof installation: all that is required is the placement of the electrical seaming machine on the seam to begin the seaming process. It’s virtually impossible for the seamer to run off the seam until it comes to the end of the panel or is removed by the operator.
Rigid’s Platinum Series is a revolutionary patented standing seam roof system that incorporates two unique seams. The Triple-Lok seam for normal wind speeds and the Quad-Lok for coastal areas and other high wind speed zones. The Platinum Series incorporates a double seam, double hook side lap design to resist seam failure between supports and side lap unfurling and unzipping. It is a roof system with tremendous strength designed to with stand the most strenuous uplift testing and highest velocity wind speeds. Combine that with its aesthetic appeal which is a favorite of architects and building owners alike, and you have an unsurpassed panel in look and quality. Available in all of Rigid’s Spectralite 3000 Fluoropon 70%, Kynar 500/Hylar 5000 colors. The Platinum Series offers you a wide range of colors to enhance the the beauty of your project and give you unsurpassed coating performance for continued beauty year after year.
The Quad-Lok seam is accomplished by seaming special roof zones with an electrical seam, when required. This seam will provide an allowable uplift load of 64 psf*, (or 120 psf over 2’6” purlin spacing). By using the Quad-Lok seam, the perimeter conditions of roofs in high wind coastal locations can resist wind loads without exterior clamps and brackets that most other roof systems require to meet the Zone III uplift loads. The Quad-Lok seam is the only seam on the market that provides higher uplift resistance with 24 gauge panel than all other roof systems using 22 gauge panels. TRIPLE-LOK QUAD-LOK
* when seamed with a 24 gauge panel over 5’0” purlin spacing All of the above seams and load tolerances are calculated in accordance with AISI using ASTM E 1592 tests.
