El taller de prospección de Proyectos tiene como objetivo el desarrollo de los proyectos propuestos por la Candidatura a Capital Europea de la Cultura Zaragoza 2016, a través de la recuperación de espacios en desuso para fines culturales, como complemento del equipamiento cultural construido y en proceso, teniendo en cuenta su adaptación a la estrategia urbana existente. El taller se ha dividido en dos grupos de trabajo: + El Comité Científico, formado por expertos en urbanismo y sociología urbana. + Los Equipos de Desarrollo de Proyectos, formados por arquitectos jóvenes con proyección, profesores de la Escuela de Ingeniería y Arquitectura de la Universidad de Zaragoza y de la ETSA USJ, en Zaragoza, y por arquitectos de la Universidad de Oporto y del CEU de Madrid. Su trabajo viene reflejado en mapas de datos y enlace de la ciudad que sirven de reflexión para el posterior desarrollo de los proyectos; éstos se publican en fichas que muestran diagramas, conceptos e imágenes de lo imaginado, partiendo del catálogo de herramientas propuestas por el taller.

The goal of the workshop for the Analysis of Projects is the development of the projects proposed by the Candidacy to be European Capital of Culture Zaragoza 2016, with the recovery of underused spaces for cultural uses as complement of the cultural equipments and those who are being built, taking into account its adaptation to the existing urban strategy. The workshop has been divided in two working groups: + The Scientific Committee, formed by experts in town planning and urban sociology. + The team of Development of Projects, formed by young renown architects, professors of the School of Engineering and Architecture of the University of Zaragoza, the ETSA USJ in Zaragoza, and architects from Porto University and Madrid CEU. Their work is reflected in the maps of data and the links of the city, serving as reflection for subsequent development of the projects published in index cards with diagrams, concepts and images of what has been imagined, staring from the catalogue of tools proposed by the workshop.

Street in the forest

LA CALLE EN EL BOSQUE propone un nuevo modelo híbrido que combina las dos zonas urbanas ya existentes en los alrededores del lugar: la calle Histórica y la Ciudad Jardín. El proyecto toma lo mejor de ellos: la escala urbana y la actividad de la primera y los espacios abiertos y verdes de la segunda. Una calle-plaza, se crea y se integra en la trama urbana, donde la gente del distrito puede reunirse y diferentes actividades pueden aparecer. Al mismo tiempo que el proyecto genera la continuidad de las áreas verdes, tratando de dedicar los mayores espacios posibles para esto, exponiéndolo a la gente del distrito para su disfrute. El emplazamiento se ha dividido en tres parcelas, uno al sur de las vías del tren, y los otros dos en el norte, dividido por la Straße Lainzer (y el paso subterráneo). La parcela norte, la más grande, contiene la mayor parte de la nueva calle. Para favorecer una mayor actividad a su alrededor le dedicamos este área para los usos públicos del programa requerido. Las otras parcelas más tranquilas se dedican al programa de vivienda. El norte del complejo para viviendas Edad de Oro, y el sur para viviendas subvencionadas.

STREET IN THE FOREST proposes a new hybrid urban model combining the two existing ones in the surroundings of the site: the Historical Street and the Garden City. The project takes the best of them: the urban scale and activity of the first one and the open and green spaces of the second one. A Street-plaza is created and integrated in the urban plot, where people of the district can meet and different activities could appear. At the same time that the project generates the continuity of the green areas, trying to dedicate the biggest possible spaces to this and open it to people of the district to enjoy. The site has been divided in three plots, one at the south of the train tracks, and the other two at the north, divided by the Lainzer Strasse (and the underground canal). The northern east plot, the biggest one, contains most of the new street. To favor a greater activity around it we dedicate this area to the public uses of the required program. The other quieter plots are dedicated to the housing program. The northern one to the Golden Age housing complex, and the southern one to the general living subsidized housing.

de la Tierra A pie de parcela lo más interesante es la vibración del horizonte producida por la suave topografía, las diferentes geometrias derivadas de trabajar el campo y las texturas de los diferentes cultivos. Esto nos descubre la esencia del lugar, que se resume en las líneas que surgen de la vibración del horizonte. El proyecto se sitúa en la confluencia de los distintos paisajes creados por el estudio de los cultivos y la topografía. Al considerar el mercado una continuación del proceso de la actividad agraria se consigue una continuidad entre mercado y parcela de manera formal y conceptual.

Over the plot, the most interesting things are: in one hand the vibrations of the horizon produced by the soft topography, and in the other hand the different geometries derived from worked fields and the textures of different crops. Both things reveals the essence of the place, which can be summarized in lines arising from the vibration of horizon. The project is located at the confluence of different landscapes created by the study of crops and topography. Therefore the plots at this point are those dedicated to the market, understood as another activity more in the process of farming. In this way I get a continuity between mark et and plot, not only in formal geometric qualities but also on the essence of the place.

Aquellas vibraciones topográficas que habíamos descubierto se introducen en el mercado mejorando la tipología de Mercado Horizontal. Se pueden diferenciar dos mundos en el proyecto. El mundo Natural de los mercados ligados al cultivo y el mundo Artificial de los coches y la Tecnología.

The topographic vibrations discovered, enter to the market by improving the type of horizontal markets. Two different worlds can be differentiated in the project. The first is a Natural World linked to growing markets and the artificial one of vehicles and technology.

El mayor problema de la Manga es que la mayoría de la población es flotante y no produce riqueza. Se crean dos focos de actividad que dan un equilibrio a todo el Mar Menor. Se elimina la linealidad y aparecen nuevos focos entorno a los viejos núcleos. Cambio del sistema empresarial de la rutina, presiones y estrés a la flexibilidad, tranquilidad y buen clima. Se realizan conexiones marítimas interiores lo que disminuye la densidad de usos actual. Se elimina el uso de vehícuos que emitan CO2 en el entorno del Mar Menor y se crean aparcamientos disuasorios que enlazan con la red de transporte limpio.

The biggest problem of La Manga is that, most of the population is floating and does not produce wealth. The intervention creates two centers of activity that gives a balance to the whole Mar Menor. Linearity is removed and new centers are created around the old nucleus. Business system of routine, pressure and stress change to flexibility, calmness and good weather. With the intention of decrease the density of current uses the project creates Internal sea connections. It eliminates the use of CO2 emitting vehicles in the vicinity of the Mar Menor. The intervention also creates dissuasive car parks that link to the green transport system.

El enunciado del proyecto consiste en el desarrollo de una patente modular de una pieza de prefabricado con la que se tiene que diseñar un centro de visitantes en el parque natural de Muuratsalo (Finlandia). Se desarrolla un módulo estructural de 3,16m x 4,57m (a ejes) y altura variable. Mientras que las piezas prefabricadas son módulos de 306 x 50 x 15 cm y 139 x 50 x15 cm de GRC con aislamiento térmico interior. Todas las piezas son estructurales y usadas para suelo y techo y pared. Además, con las mismas medidas, se desarrolla otra pieza de ventana, permitiendo los huecos en el edificio.

The statement of the project is developing a patent for a modular prefabricated piece. To be used to build a visitor center in the natural park of Muuratsalo (Finland). It´s developed a structural module of 3.16 m x 4.57 m (between axis) and variable height. While prefabricated modules are 306 x 50 x 15 cm and 139 x 50 x15 cm of GRC, with interior insulated. All structural parts are used for floors, ceilings and walls. Moreover, another piece of window is developed with the same measures, allowing the views from the building.

MONTAJE - El proyecto tiene un montaje y desmontaje muy rĂĄpido con uniones en seco con posibilidad de transporte para cualquier lugar. Un par de operarios son capaces de montarlo y desmontarlo sin necesidad de grandes maquinarias. Primero se montan los forjados, luego las paredes y finalmente la cubierta.

ASSEMBLY - The project has a very fast installation and removal, the use of dry joints allows to transport it anywhere. A few operators can assemble and disassemble the building without needing large machinery. The floor structure are assembled first, later the walls and, finally, the roof.

Se desarrolla un núcleo habitacional de 150 viviendas en el desierto del Sahara sirviendo de sitio de parada para los comerciantes nómadas de la zona. El proyecto permite su asentamiento y puestos de venta para sus productos. El proyecto se desarrolla en base a los condicionantes climáticos. El contorno del conjunto protege de los vientos Alisios y del Siroco. Posteriormente el interior de este perímetro se divide en bandas que por medio de roturas terminarán despiezandose y pixelizando para conseguir una organización que proteja del viento, arena y demás inconvenientes.

The intervention developes a group of 150 houses in the Sahara desert. The complex serves as stopover site for nomadic traders in the area. The project allows a place for theirs families and a market where they can sell their products. The weather conditions generate the shape and structure of the project. The outline of the whole group protects of Aliseos winds and the Siroco. Later, the inside of this perimeter is divided into bands. These breakage and pixelising bands achieves an organization which protects against wind, sand and other weather problems.

MATERIALES - Estructura metálica, para facilitar traslado, montaje, etc... -Construcción en adobe mediante capas de barro, paja, y malla de corral. -Tela de hilo de poliester (diferentes densidades) para la protección de la erosión de la arena.

SUPERPOSITION - The weather problem in the desert is solved with the location of a multilayered protective cover over buildings. It protects against: the solar radiation, winds from the Sahara, and sandstorms.

La intención del proyecto es solucionar el problema de aislamiento donde se encuentra la muralla. Se desarrolla una red cultural de espacios expositivos con la que el Centro Cultural Medina Mayrit se relacione. El centro y sus talleres, se desarrollarán volcados a los jardines de la muralla. El edificio se entierra de manera que permite la creación de una ladera vegetal, se realiza una modificación topográfica que sitúa a la muralla en su nivel original y facilita la accesibilidad. Todo esto junto a las actividades y las proyecciones artísticas, consiguen evitar el aislamiento.

The intention of the project is to solve the problem of isolation of the wall. The intervention developes a cultural network of exhibition spaces where, the Cultural Center “Medina Mayrit” dealings with. The center and its workshops, will be developed into the gardens of the wall. The building is buried and it allows the creation of a green slope. The project makes a topographical change to return the wall to its original level and facilitate the accessibility. These actions, together with the activities and artistic projections achieves to avoid the isolation.

Se consiguen un acceso principal mediante la apertura topográfica del perímetro y la creación de las laderas. Y otro acceso a través de la muralla con el que se proyecta un recorrido sensorial del origen de la ciudad. Sintiéndote una persona de intramuros (S. IX), hasta un ciudadano del S.XXI al atravesar “la muralla” del Centro Cultural.

The project developes a main entrance by the topographical opening of the perimeter and the creation of the slopes. And another access through the wall; the project design a sensory tour of the origin of the city with this access. Feeling a person from inside the wall (S. IX) to a citizen of the XXI century through “the wall” of the Cultural Center.
