of David Yurman
One of the strongest trends in jewelry at the moment is stacking and layering. Wearing more than one or two rings, bracelets, or necklaces is a way of changing your look every day and experimenting with styles by mixing different colors, textures, metals, and finishes. Looks can range from classic to dazzling. David Yurman, one of the most enduring and beloved jewelry designers in America, has interpreted this phenomenon in his new Stax Gold collection.

David Yurman’s new Chatelaine collection is a beautiful combination of simplicity and complexity. The Chatelaine collection exalts the stone. The central element of each piece is a finely cut colored gemstone that takes center stage as a solitaire gem. Each is cut in a fancy checkerboard, which places facets on the top of the gem for maximum light reflection and high color saturation. It is interpreted in a variety of gem colors, including citrine, blue topaz, amethyst, quartz, and peridot. The

luxury made personal
When Matt Conable founded his custom pocketknife manufactory almost 20 years ago, he could not have foreseen the breadth of products that his company would eventually grow to make. But what he did know for certain was that quality, craftsmanship, and the use of exotic materials would be his guiding principles. Today, the William Henry range of award-winning pocketknives has been artfully augmented by other exclusive handmade accessories, such as writing instruments, money clips, and, most recently, jewelry. William Henry now resides in a 10,500-square-foot studio in McMinnville, Oregon, that feels more like an artisan’s workshop than a state-of-the art manufacturing facility. Conable modeled it after a custom knife shop, which is where he first honed his craft as a teen. Here, the components for the William Henry array of lifestyle products are fashioned by hand, employing the timehonored techniques developed by generations of master metalworkers and

stone setters. There are 28 craftspeople at the Oregon studio alone, collectively realizing the company’s goal of “perfecting and personalizing luxury items.” Every William Henry product is unique, thanks in part to the materials employed to create each piece and the exclusive attention required to achieve perfection. Fossilized dinosaur and woolly mammoth bone, iridescent seashells, meteorite, fossil coral, and exotic woods are used, as well as hand-forged metals incorporating Damascus, mokume-gane, and koftgari techniques rendered by some of the best artists in the world.

A William Henry pocketknife takes more than 12 months to produce, comprising the work of more than 30 artisans and 800 individual operations, crafted to tolerances reserved for aerospace-level work, often measured at onetwelfth the width of a human hair. The final fit, finish, action, and sharpness of the blades are achieved by hand. There are currently ten knife collections within the range, each with a personality all its own. In addition, the company produces one-of-a-kind pieces upon request.
“QUALITY IS REALLY ABOUT BRINGING OUR BEST TO EACH TASK AND TO HOLDING OURSELVES ACCOUNTABLE TO THE HIGHEST STANDARD WE CAN MEASURE,”
— Matt Conable, founder of William Henry
The jewelry collection includes bracelets and necklaces in a variety of metals, with gemstones or other accents, exquisitely engraved and painstakingly assembled. Bracelets, for example, are crafted in sterling silver, gold, and steel, integrating bold combinations of onyx, dinosaur bone, and other decorative and often colorful counterpoints. Necklaces range from simple corded designs to woven chains, in sterling silver or gold, featuring intricate pendants and combinations of handcrafted beads. Original clasps

I’m proud that William Henry is a part of that.”

Real men wear jewelry. They’re also free to wear pink, carry manbags (aka carryalls), and like playful, patterned socks. It’s a sign of the times. Over the past 10 years, men have dramatically increased their expenses on jewelry, fashion, and personal grooming. According to The NPD Group, total sales of men’s accessories in the U.S. jumped 28.7 percent from 2012 to 2014, rising from $11.5 billion to $14.8 billion, with jewelry sales rising from $2.9 billion to $4.3 billion during that period. Band rings, with or without stones, and chain bracelets are also favorites. In fact, bracelets in particular are popular for men, with the growing trend to stack different types like chain, leather, and gem beads. Men are adding on to their look by layering pendants, crosses, and symbolic tags.

The clear trend in men’s jewelry in the last several years when gold became very expensive was the use of alternative metals. From tungsten and stainless steel to titanium and other exotic alloys, alternative metals have become staples in men’s jewelry. Because they’re more affordable and easily mixed with materials like leather, rubber, wood, and enamel, there has been tremendous creativity in the category. But with gold prices more attractive and stabilized now, men are gravitating to gold, especially in rings and with diamonds. Besides white diamonds, men are keen on black and brown diamonds, as well as gems like sapphire, garnet, black onyx, jasper, lapis, and tiger’s eye. Beyond traditionally manly stones, a broad range of gems like turquoise, coral, and mother-of-pearl is set in men’s jewelry. Personalization is important to men, particularly in ways they can subtly express their personality. Cufflinks are a big part of that. Color and whimsy are capturing the imagination of many French-cuff-

BREITLING
AVENGER HURRICANE Big, lightweight and strong — the ultimate sports watch The Breitling Avenger Hurricane is purpose-built for extreme sports. Activities that involve speed, height, and physical exertion require highly specialized gear, including a tough timepiece. If you’re scaling the face of a mountain, surfing 30-foot waves, or white-water rafting, you need a watch that can take some abuse and remain reliable. The 50 mm case of the Breitling Avenger Hurricane is huge by most standards, but also remarkably lightweight. It is made possible because of a proprietary polymer material called Breitlight, an ultra-light yet super-strong material that is antimagnetic, anti-allergenic, and has high thermal stability, so it can also withstand extremes of temperature. Planning to go ice-climbing? No problem. Breitlight is three-times lighter than titanium and 5.8-times lighter than steel, but also extremely hard, with exceptional resistance to scratches, traction, and corrosion. This makes it possible to have a large, highly readable dial, a thick crystal, and a bold design without adding a lot of weight. The Avenger Hurricane houses a Breitling manufacture movement, the automatic Caliber B12, with chronograph functions and a 24-hour military-style time display. The stencil-style Arabic numerals of the 24-hour display are a prominent feature of the dial, giving the watch a professional military aesthetic. The movement is chronometer — certified by COSC, the Swiss official chronometer testing institute, which guarantees a high standard of accuracy and reliability. It has a 70-hour power reserve, which is higher than the average of about 40-50 hours. The Avenger Hurricane has all the hallmarks of a sports watch, including a thick, glareproof sapphire crystal, a large notched crown that is easy to grip, and high legibility — the hands and numerals are luminated in a yellow material that contrasts with the midnight-black case and dial. Breitling’s signature rotating bezel with rider tabs serves to memorize times. The waterproof strap combines a yellow rubber core and sides with a textile fiber exterior. The Avenger Hurricane is water resistant to 100 meters (330 feet).

Celebrating each year together with jewelry
There is no gift that can capture moments, milestones, and meanings in our lives quite like jewelry. For couples, the journey that began with the exchange of iconic wedding rings can be retold and celebrated with each passing year together in personal gifts of fine jewelry.
Davani 18k White Gold 1.97cttw Diamond Dangle Earrings. $5,499
The sky’s the limit when it comes to anniversary jewelry. It can be diamonds every year, your favorite color or birthstone, lustrous pearls, or classic gold and silver pieces. The choices are as unique as the couples making them. But there are precious gems and metals that have come to signify special anniversaries and might be a part of your perfect gift.

diamond
Diamond, which signifies forever, is the gemstone suggested for anniversaries number
10 and 60. The name is derived from the Latin diamas meaning unconquerable, and this gemstone has maintained its position throughout history as a perfect icon for everlasting love and marriage. Diamond is believed to inspire loyalty, romance, and a joyful life. Chosen by most first brides to seal the deal, diamond offers many ways to celebrate each year together — from studs and solitaire pendants to stackable bands and bracelets. Especially popular are two-stone diamond ring designs and three-stone

styles with white center and gemstone sides. The great thing about diamond is there are many colors to choose from, with yellow, champagne, and brown being especially popular right now.
sapphire Sapphire is suggested for anniversaries numbers 5 and 45. This gemstone has historically signified truth and promises, perfect sentiments for any marriage. Next to diamond, sapphire is a favorite wedding gem, inspiring sincerity, peace and joy. The most popular anniversary gift in sapphire has been stackable bands. And the great thing about sapphire is that it comes in several colors, with blue, yellow and pink to choose from. Other iconic designs include bold sapphire rings and threestone styles with diamonds, as well as different earring treatments and bracelets, sometimes in ombré or mixed color patterns.

Ruby symbolizes the power of attraction and long-lasting love. It is the top suggestion for anniversaries number 15 and 40. This fiery red gem — the color of the heart — has always been associated with deep love. Stackable bands set with ruby and white diamonds are popular, as are bold cocktail rings and three-stone styles. It doesn’t have to be a ring, though. Drop earrings, ear climbers, and line bracelets set with ruby also make a statement of love.

THE MANY SHADES OF The Serein is a watch for many occasions
The Serein collection from Michele is gaining a huge fan base for its incredible versatility. The many options include diamonds for extra sparkle, a choice of strap and dial colors, as well as case sizes and materials. There is a watch for every occasion, and the Serein is affordable enough that it is possible to have more than one. The classic Serein has an oval case encircled by Michele’s signature zig-zag setting of radiant diamonds. It contains a Swiss chronograph movement, the iconic red MW crown, and classic Roman numeral indexes. The Serein 16 has the same oval case, also set with diamonds, but it is slightly smaller, at 36mm wide. It contains a Swiss movement with hour and minute functions. The mother-of-pearl dial, set with Roman numerals, blends classic elements with modern femininity. The Serein 12 is also sized down, with a 28mm oval case. It has a Swiss movement with hour and minute functions as well as a small seconds subdial. This polished version of the signature Serein is the perfect cocktail watch.

Pantone’s 2016 top 10 fall palette is an antidote to modern stresses
D E B O R A H
Spark Creations 18k Rose and White Gold 6.17ct Cabochon Opal Pendant surrounded by .28cttw Diamonds. $4,649
Pantone’s 2016 color chart is dominated by neutral colors in calm blues and anchoring earth tones, punctuated by pops of color for a touch of glamour and vibrancy. The blue family leads the Pantone fall 2016 color chart, with tones including Riverside, a cool and calming hue with a subtle sophistication, and Airy Blue, which evokes a feeling of weightlessness. In fact, blue was a key color trend in designs spotted at the major spring-summer jewelry shows this year reflected in a rich palette of gems, including sapphire, aquamarine, zircon, paraiba tourmaline, topaz, kyanite, turquoise, lapis, opal, moonstone, and chalcedony. Designers are exploring ombré patterns in blues from light to dark, even blending into purple and green in the spectrum. “If you look at this season’s entire palette, the idea of comforting blues coming to the top of the list again shows that people are still searching for reassurance,” explains Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute. “The color blue is fundamentally important to the human eye as a stable icon of the balance in our universe. Even in an uncertain world, we remember that the blue skies represent constancy — they’ve never fallen!” Classic Sharkskin gray and comforting Warm Taupe also make the list for fall 2016, described by Eiseman as “rock solid colors you can go back to and use with everything in your wardrobe.” Rose Quartz also makes an appearance, a color that was also named overall Color of the Year for 2016 (along with Serenity, a shade of light blue). Dusty Cedar is the fall-winter version of Rose Quartz, a shade that exudes a deeper warmth and complexity. In fact, blush tones of rose and peach will continue to capture attention, with gems like morganite the perfect gemstone expression of the color. In the red family, the palette includes the Far East-inspired Aurora Red and an earthy russet called Potter’s Clay. For more exotic pops, Pantone’s top picks include
Spark Creations 18kt Rose Gold 3.68ct Cabochon Opal Ring surrounded by .42cttw Diamonds. $4,999
Bodacious, a versatile hot pinkish purple; Spicy Mustard, a zesty golden hue; and Lush Meadow, a bright botanical, emerald green. Among the key design directions in color and gem use, expect to see more two-tone combinations, with the two-stone jewelry trend in play, like mixing blue and blush. There is also a strong tendency for modern mosaic mixes of gem types, colors, shapes, and sizes. With the growing popularity of mismatched earrings, there are lots of creative gemstone combinations. Finally, the desire for spectacular jewels that express pure drama call for statement jewelry, set with gems of exceptional brilliance, color, and craftsmanship. century ago, Mikimoto established its first black cultured pearl farm on Okinawa Island. Since
then, the brand remains the authority in the highest quality black South Sea cultured pearl. It was Kokichi Mikimoto, with a wish to “adorn the necks of all women of the world with pearls” and the
scientific mind to develop a technique for cultivating them, who changed history. He made the coveted gem available to fashionable women everywhere, and his technique, first discovered in 1893, is still in use today. Innovation is always at the heart of Mikimoto, as rare stones and precious metals — and, of course, pearls — combine to create contemporary classics. Mikimoto’s earrings, rings, bracelets, and necklaces incorporate Akoya, as well as natural black, white, golden, multi-color, or baroque South Sea cultured pearls, offering a varied palette. Classic to contemporary, everyday essentials to evening or bridal wear, each piece is a flawless example of the company’s design aesthetic. Eighteen-karat white, yellow, and rose gold or platinum are used exclusively for clasps and other adornments, while the finest silk thread strings the strands.

TAG Heuer taps its archives The Swiss watch brand turns to its icons for inspiration in 2016
TAG
Heuer is one of Switzerland’s heritage watch brands and, as such, has the advantage of appealing to its archives for design
inspiration. The company applies modern technology and materials to beloved historic sports models, and the results are first-rate. The Heuer Monza Chronograph is an updated version of an icon that celebrates its 40th anniversary this year. The Monza was originally issued in 1976 to celebrate Niki Lauda’s first world championship title with Ferrari. The anniversary version focuses on the watch’s two key functions — the pulsometer and the tachymeter scale — with the original font and black and white hands. New are the titanium case, which makes it lighter and more shock resistant, and the Super-LumiNova (which wasn’t invented until 1993). Also iconic for the brand is the Carrera Heuer-01, TAG Heuer’s signature chronograph model. It contains the new in-house movement, Caliber HEUER-01, based on the 1887 caliber, and a new modular case design with 12 elements that enable multiple combinations of materials and colors. Those options include a rubber, titanium, or steel bracelet, as well as an option that includes ceramic and rubber — the case bezel, lugs and case middle are made from black ceramic to minimize signs of wear. It is fitted with a textured rubber strap. The latest version of TAG Heuer’s hugely successful Carrera Connected Watch has also been created with the brand’s heritage in mind. The watch takes the shape of a mechanical TAG Carrera, with a 46 mm case made of titanium. However, it is an Android Powered smartwatch, with a crown that acts as the control center. The watch features three different TAG Heuer faces — a chronograph, a three hand, and a GMT. The chronograph works by tapping the screen once to start and stop, and twice for resetting. The black rubber strap can

updated classics with enduring style for everyday wear
Classic design never goes out of style. These everyday watches will look as fresh years from now as they do today, and that is because they are designed to stand the test of time. But classic does not always mean conservative or boring. Contemporary classic designs can be chic and interesting without being too over-the-edge. Every watch wardrobe should contain at least one classic timepiece that can be worn every day, with any outfit. There are certain elements you should look for in an everyday watch. Diamonds should be positioned as accents only — as markers on the dial or set around the bezel, rather than as full pavé, as in a jewelry watch. Roman numerals or subtle indexes are perfect. The classic day watch should also be of the highest quality, sturdy enough to take daily wear and to remain scratch-free and fully functional for most occasions. The strap or bracelet should be functional and durable. Each of the classic watches featured here represents the highest standard in timepiece manufacturing. TAG Heuer Carrera Caliber 9
Movado Museum Sapphire
WOMEN
This watch is the epitome of modern classic, with a mother-of-pearl dial, diamond indexes — including a double diamond marker at 12 o’clock — and a sparkling diamond bezel. The 12 diamonds on the dial total 0.10ct, and the 56 diamonds on the bezel weigh 0.55ct. The watch features faceted and polished hour and minute hands, and a stainless steel case and bracelet. It contains the Sellita Caliber SW1000 automatic, with hours, minutes, seconds, and date functions. It has a 40-hour power reserve and is water resistant to 100 meters.
Movado’s Sapphire model with diamonds is sized for comfort, with a 28mm wide stainless steel case set with 36 accent diamonds, including 11 diamond markers on the dial and diamonds set into the bracelet attachments, for a total of 0.183 carat. The round silver mirrored dial features a silver toned dot at 12 o’clock, the signature element of Movado’s Museum collection. It is fitted with a pyramidstyle steel link bracelet with a butterfly clasp.
Breitling Galactic 36 Automatic Breitling has created a model blending the legendary sports watch elements of its core collection with an ultra-feminine design inspired by the world of luxury aviation. The mechanical movement of the sporty, versatile, and refined Galactic 36 Automatic is housed in a generous steel case. The bezel displays the signature Breitling numerals engraved on a polished or satin-brushed background. The dial is available in six colors, and the strap is a choice of leather, crocodile leather, lizard skin, or a steel bracelet.

Shinola’s
NEW LEGACY
T
hanks to its long history in watchmaking, the U.S. is fertile ground for a new generation of watch companies, and Shinola stepped up to
the challenge just a few years ago. Most compellingly, the company turned 30,000 square feet of space in the former Argonaut building in midtown Detroit — a city known for its history in manufacturing — into a state-of-the-art watch facility, thus melding the city’s storied past with a confident anticipation of a successful future. In 2012, Swiss watchmakers were brought to Detroit to teach the intricacies of watch and Argonite movement assembly to the newly hired staff, and the result is a team-spirit enthusiasm that is palpable — and transcendent, since there is much more at work here than watchmaking. In partnership with Ronda AG, the Swiss quartz movement manufacturer, Shinola today employs 530 people, with about 400 at the Detroit workshop.

Shinola’s fashionable leather watch straps are produced by the Shinola Leather Co. in Detroit and
Hadley-Roma in Largo, Florida, from American leather, of course. Hadley-Roma, founded in 1903 in Hadley, Massachusetts, has grown its stellar reputation on its American-made products, including watch straps in a variety of styles, colors, and materials. Shinola’s rubber straps, found on some of its sports-style watches, are made from American rubber by Stern Manufacturing in Staples, Minnesota. The watch company’s larger mission of bringing manufacturing back to the U.S. is evident at every turn, from its investment in the city, which it affectionately dubs “the new watchmaking capital of America,” to the quality of its timepieces. Bedrock Manufacturing, parent of Shinola, thoughtfully considered a number of other locations besides Detroit, but with its long legacy and its enthusiastic work force, the Motor City won out. Hands down.

Through their friendship, Haig and Garo struck a deal — Garo would design rings for Haig, and Haig would travel and sell them. They created rings that featured engraved and etched details, which may be somewhat common today, but was revolutionary during Tacori’s conception. These styles proved effective and lead to some early success for the duo.
This thirst to succeed brought Haig to challenge
Garo to come up with new designs on a daily basis. As told by Garo, he and Haig would stay in the building working late through the evenings, and one such night, Garo ran into Haig’s office with a new ring design as if he struck gold (pun intended).
“Tacori’s signature ring collection has been defined by the unique design element of the crescent silhouette: interlocking half-moon arcs, which provide windows of light to reflect the brilliance of the diamonds placed within each crescent silhouette semi-circle.”
What Haig saw was a bunch of hearts on the side profiles of the ring, and so he responded, “This is beautiful, but it’s hearts; can we do something more original?”. Not discouraged, Garo went back to the drawing board, played around with the design a bit, rotated the hearts, and realized the lobes formed semi-circles, or half-moon shapes, throughout the ring. Haig loved the design, and thus Tacori, and the iconic crescent, was born. Ever since, Tacori’s signature ring collection has been defined by the unique design element of the crescent silhouette: interlocking half-moon arcs, which provide windows of light to reflect the brilliance of the diamonds placed within each crescent silhouette semi-circle. Much like the LV is to Louis Vitton, the iconic crescent is recognized as Tacori. This luxurious motif is a hallmark of Tacori, and a mark of exquisite taste. After decades of success and worldwide acclaim, and still with Garo by his side, Haig remains the father of the company as CEO, with his son Paul as the President of Sales & Marketing and daughter Nadine as the President of Design & Operations. Today, the care Tacori brings to every piece of jewelry is inspired by Haig’s original vision. Tacori not only creates intricately crafted artisan jewelry, but also upholds a family legacy. signature crescent details, the entire process to create Tacori jewelry takes place under the Tacorian family’s guidance at their design studios in California. Tacori now employs over 250 people, who all embody the philosophy of personal care and quality, which guides every facet of the Tacori process. Tacori is more than a jewelry brand; it is a culture. For the women who wear Tacori jewels, whether it be fashion jewelry or one of Tacori’s exquisite engagement rings, the “#TacoriGirl” is recognized as someone who is oneof-a-kind and a leader in style, much like the jewelry she wears. She is confident, and she believes in Love. And, she loves the idea of being part of a Tacori Couple and exchanging rings that will bond her and her husband in marriage.
“The ‘#TacoriGirl’ is recognized as someone who is one-of-a-kind and a leader in style, much like the jewelry she wears.” For generations, husbands and wives would choose matching wedding bands to represent their promise to each other. However, nowadays, people’s individualistic needs to show their own style often supersedes the desire of wearing matching rings. Additionally, in today’s society, there are so many details that go into planning a wedding — you have the venue, the photographer,

the band or disc jockey (or dare I say both), the flowers, the centerpieces, and so forth — it’s overwhelming just thinking about it! Too often, as couples get caught in the midst of the hype of their wedding, they neglect to think of the ONE thing that’s lasting, the ONE thing they will have forever, and pass down to generations to come, the ONE thing that serves as the everlasting symbol of their marriage — their wedding bands! Can you imagine that? It seems crazy but this happens too regularly. Yet, to the Tacori Couple, they recognize the significance of the rings they will share, and wear, together.
“With the Tacori Couple, the iconic crescent that bonds the make-up of each and every Tacori design, also bonds the fabric of their love.”
Tacori gives a complimentary steel TacoriSport band with every Tacori gentleman’s wedding band purchase.
What sets Tacori apart is the ability to express your individual style, but still share a matching theme within the rings. With the Tacori Couple, the iconic crescent that bonds the make-up of each and every Tacori design, also bonds the fabric of their love. Not only this, but the same Tacori artisans will handcraft the rings at the same time, together. There is nothing more romantic than that. And for the designs themselves, these remarkably detailed pieces have become timeless symbols of connection that join individuals and generations. We invite you to Albert’s Diamond Jewelers to see, feel, and try-on these distinctive designs for yourself.

diamond care

How to Care for Your
While diamonds are the hardest of gemstones, they are not indestructible and still require care. Engagement and wedding rings are most vulnerable to being lost or damaged because of their daily use. Though the diamond is lauded as being hardy, this can lead people to be less careful with their diamond rings, even when they are the pieces of
jewelry with the most sentimental value and, therefore, the most precious. Proper upkeep of your diamond ring will come in several forms.
Keep your diamond ring shiny with regular cleaning. Over
the course of time, your diamond can be dulled by exposure to everyday substances. To mitigate this, don’t allow the buildup to get too severe. When cleaning your diamond ring, don’t use chemicals or harmful solutions, as they can damage the metals and weaken the structure of your diamond ring. Use warm, soapy water with liquid soap. For a more intense clean, find a soft toothbrush, or a child’s toothbrush, and gently work around the stone and setting. Don’t be too rough with the cleaning; dry it with a lint-free cloth. For special occasions, you can have your diamond ring professionally cleaned for that added glint. Over time, your diamond ring will be bumped, smacked, and hit in the course of your everyday movements. Though your ring should be durable enough, you should schedule regular checkups with your jeweler. Prongs are especially vulnerable, and when they become loose, the danger is losing a stone. At your checkup, the jeweler can ascertain the strength of the setting and tighten it up for better security. This is a preventative measure to keep your diamond ring intact and is highly advised. Like anything else that gets worn or used daily, diamond rings can be lost, damaged, or stolen. Should this happen, you will wish you had gotten insurance for it. Buying insurance for your diamond ring can be as easy and straightforward as you might like. It can be done online and within minutes. Don’t assume that your general insurance covers your ring adequately. Look into your policy and seriously consider a separate policy for your precious jewelry. Accidents happen, but they don’t need to set you back financially. Caring for your diamond ring is not always a straightforward business. It requires attention and thoughtfulness, two things that can erode over the daily use of your diamond ring. But if you keep it clean, secure, and insured, your ring will sparkle long into your marriage and last for the generations to follow.

Finding the perfect engagement ring
IDEA

s your love grows and marriage is on the horizon, engagement rings are imagined, designed, or discovered. Though the sea of rings is infinite, one will inevitably stand out above all the others and become “the one.” Here are some engagement ring fashions that have continued to resonate over time. Stacking fashion rings aren’t new, but in the bridal space it’s a trend that has gained momentum. A beautiful engagement ring begins the journey of this stacked look. When searching for an engagement ring, consider a classic solitaire in a shape you desire. Alternatively, a sparkling halo with a gorgeous pavé band is eye-catching as well as timeless. Or harken to times past with intricate filigree, beadwork, or engravings on the band that will stand out among

the throng. Should you decide that the stacked look is right for you, take care that the diamond is set in such a way that other bands that sit beneath it create a combination that is both attractive and comfortable. When selecting your wedding band, consider whether the style will work with other rings over time. You will want to add pieces which mark commemorative occasions, such as anniversaries, birthdays, the birth of your children, or just periodic celebrations of your love. Whatever you choose, your rings should be a reflection of your love and spark memories of the moments shared throughout your life. Being environmentally conscious is on the minds of many brides

and grooms today. If this describes you, you’re in luck. Today there is an array of options available to you that are stylish and beautiful while allowing you to tread lightly on Mother Earth. Recycled metals are a great way to conserve resources: gold, platinum, and palladium can all be reprocessed, and many jewelry designers are choosing this option. Some couples are opting to buy antique engagement rings. This earth-friendly trend combines environmental sensitivity with the popularity of vintage styles. Alternatively, you can select a trendy vintage stone, such as a rose cut or old mine cut diamond, and feature it in a new setting of your choice. What is old becomes new again!

A fun look that has been popping up recently is the two-stone ring. Most designers have incorporated at least one of these designs in their engagement ring collections. This ring features two diamonds that are usually the same size and shape. What is the significance of a two-stone engagement ring, you ask? One stone represents your true love and the other represents your best friend. It’s a fun and lovely way to remember why you chose the person you did to spend the rest of your life with.

Many of today’s designers are taking advantage of laser-cutting technology to enhance engagement rings. These rings appear to be one large diamond, but don’t let the look fool you! These diamond cluster rings are actually smaller diamonds that are precision cut to fit together perfectly to give the illusion of one large stone. These cluster rings are available in most stone shapes and are very difficult to discern from the classic single-stone engagement ring. Therefore, consider this style if you want extreme brilliance at a lower cost than a traditional ring.
