Rescue Diver and emergency First Response Course @ You have gathered some diving experience, you were in some situations where you were not sure whether to intervene or not. What’s involved? – This course introduces you to new dive theory, and new skills, practicing in shallow water before venturing into open water to react to scenarios covering all you have learnt. This is serious fun! A must for those thinking of furthering their diving experience. The PADI Rescue Diver course prepares you to deal with dive emergencies, minor and major, using a variety of techniques. Through knowledge development and rescue exercises, you learn what to look for and how to respond. During rescue scenarios, you put into practice your knowledge and skills. Topics include: • Self rescue • Recognizing and managing stress in other divers • Emergency management and equipment • Rescuing panicked divers • Rescuing unresponsive divers What does this qualification mean to me? – You will now be in a position to help yourself and others during dives and the logistics around any given dive day. The confidence gained will give you new levels of diving enjoyment, and being a Rescue Diver makes
you one step closer to Master Scuba Diver status or following a professional dive career with the PADI Divemaster course. Emergency First Response • Whether you are embarking on the Rescue Diver Course, and need to gain basic first aid skills or you simply want to increase your ability to deal with on land medical emergencies, this course is ideal. Emergency First Response training focuses on building confidence in lay rescuers and increasing their willingness to respond when faced with a medical emergency. Course participants learn simple to follow steps for emergency care and practice applying skills in a no stressful learning environment. All courses are supported by self-study manuals, videos and quick reference cards to enhance learning and allow you start learning right away. EFR courses meet the CPR and first aid training requirements for the PADI Rescue Diver course and all professional-level ratings. Most PADI Instructors are also Emergency First Response Instructors. What’s involved? You will learn how to deal with both Primary and Secondary medical emergencies through a combination of knowledge development and practical hands-on training in areas such as CPR and first aid: • Primary Care (CPR) – This course teaches you the steps and techniques for handling life-threatening emergencies. You’ll practice eight skills for aiding patients who aren’t breathing, have no heartbeat, may have a spinal injury, may be in shock or who may have serious bleeding. You’ll learn to how to perform CPR and continue to monitor the patient, so that you provide every possible chance of survival while waiting for emergency medical services to arrive.
• Secondary Care (First Aid) – Because many medical conditions are not life-threatening and emergency medical services are sometimes delayed or unavailable, this course teaches you how to provide first aid that eases pain and reduces the risk of further harm. You’ll learn to assess a variety of injuries and illnesses and practice bandaging and splinting.
• CPR & AED – This course focuses on CPR training and teaching participants how to use an AED (automated external defibrillator). When workplace or governmental requirements specify this training, the CPR & AED course meets the need. This course is often integrated into First Aid at Work programs. What does this qualification mean to me? As well as being an internationally qualified first aider, you are now ready to apply this and further knowledge and skills through the PADI Rescue course. • You must complete the course within one year from signing up, an administration fee is charged, if an extension is requested. • No refunds given for non completion of courses. • Please ensure you READ ALL the TERMS & CONDITIONS carefully, before signing for the course. • Please arrive 10 minutes before classes and pool sessions, 15-20 minutes before beach dives, if you are 10 minutes late, your sessions will be re-scheduled. Physical: For safety, all students complete a brief scuba medical questionnaire that asks about medical conditions that could be a problem while diving. I have attached the Medical Questionnaire please answer with YES or NO. If you have replied Yes to any of the questions, as a safety precaution, your physician must assess the condition as it relates to diving and sign a medical form that confirms that you are fit to dive.
