Dear Christian Friends: Welcome to the 14th biennial production of the Christian Acappella Music Awards weekend sponsored by NACAMA and the Hallandale Beach Church of Christ. We take this opportunity to thank you for taking the time to fellowship with us, as we glorify our God through the use of acappella music.

CAMA had its beginning in November of 1992, as a recognition program for members of the Churches of Christ who continue to promote their talents through the writing, singing, production and exploitation of acappella music. Some CAMA veterans may have noticed that we have changed our format a few times during the past 24 years and you will see that we have made some changes once again to the overall program and activities. Sometimes, we get the question as to how we determine the artists and individuals that we recognize. I would like to try and answer that question as we truly would like to get more involvement in the future. Some of you may be aware, that when CAMA started in 1992, we recognized any and every group that we met while traveling from concert to concert, during our work with the 4 Christian Stars singing group. Since that time, we realized that there were many more artists in the Lords church and so we attempted to connect through word of mouth advertising about the program. One of our major challenges in deciding who to recognize during the CAMA weekend program is that many of our artist do not create music each year and so it seems to some, that we use the same groups and artist each time. Unfortunately, some times, it is true that some of our artist create music more often that others and because of that fact, we do have to make decisions about who we will recognize for a particular year. We also have to take into consideration that we are producing an

awards program. This is why we moved away from using the word winners, as we know, that CAMA was never a competition, but a recognition program and all of our participants are winners. We recognize that we do not know every artist and thus, we are introducing a single depository of Artist in the Lords church through the NACAMA.Org site beginning January 2017.

The site will house information and links to any artist, solo or group to add links to their own site and where churches will be able to go and to see and hear groups for invites to various activities. And then, finally, Financially, CAMA continues to be a challenge, as we currently receive no financial assistance from any congregations of the Lords church. This year, as a means to offset some of the expenses incurred, we have set up a GOFUNDME account for anyone who is able to assist us. We also understand the challenges for the participating artists who might not receive economic support from their home congregations. We plead with congregations to consider assisting their singing groups who generally participate at all activities held within the Church. CAMA occurs every two years and it would be a great investment for forward thinking congregations to encourage their young and older members to come and to learn and to be refueled in the area of acappella music in the church. Even with those challenges, we are thankful that our God is still good all of the time. We hope that you enjoy your weekend and that you will witness the blessed talents of over 25 different artists.

Also the workshops have been designed with your interest and needs in mind. We also encourage you to visit our vendor area where the groups and others have CD’s, DVD’s clothing and other items for sale at very competitive pricing. Please take time to go and meet with them and purchase your very own copy of the music and other items for sale, throughout the foyer area.

Terri Mays was born and raised in Taylor, Texas with her sister, her ride or die, Stephanie McAfee. She started singing at the age of 8. Terri was an athlete all the way through Jr. College where she heard a sermon on hell, and scared her into searching the scriptures for her salvation. She obeyed the gospel at the age of 20 at the 10th & M church of Christ in Temple, Texas, and married Willie Mays shortly after on August 3, 1985. They have 4 beautiful children, Desarea, Kristen (Lionel) Sims, Faith Mays a student at Fisk in Nashville, Tennessee, and Jeremy Mays a senior in High School. They also have a gorgeous granddaughter, Micah McKennon. Terri's number one goal is to raise her children in the Lord, and be a good Christian example for them to follow to heaven as I Corinthians 11:1 states. Along with that she is a sports mom. She has supported her children in there sports by traveling to games and at times even coaching their teams. Terri has also been her kids youth counselor all their lives, and have taken them to youth conferences, vocal camps, Cama's, and as many church activities as possible. Her children were truly, as some call it, drug babies. They were drug to church events all their lives.

Terri has been privileged to sing with her children since they were very young. Along with her nieces, Felicia Richardson and Dontasia McAfee her girls have been recording children's CDs, and traveling to sing as her background since they were pre-teens. The blend they all have together is unmatched because they all have the same tone. Terri started the group Youthful Praise so her children along with other talented youth could minister in song to other youth. This group has received multiple Cama awards. She has

also directed the Wise Children, also Cama recipients, and the Oklahoma/ Texas Ambassadors youth chorus. Writing songs that are age appropriate for youth is one of Terri's passions. Another one of her passions is teaching young ladies and women the bible. She loves sharing the word of God in home bible studies with other sisters in the church and ladies in the community. Several women have obeyed the gospel as a result of those bible studies. She enjoys the challenge of speaking at Ladies Programs because it gives her more reason to study the word, and tell people how good God is. Terri loves traveling and ministering in song with her family and friends. She has not always sang like she does now. In fact her husband used to accuse her of holding back. Now that God has brought her through multiple storms, Terri puts everything God has given her into her ministry. She believes it is a ministry, and it's not about her nor her singing ability. It's about sharing God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit with those who hear her music whether on stage or on the songs she's written and recorded. Terri has been blessed to record several CDs with several engineers such as Johnny Wilder, Barry Gram, Jerome Malone, John Pooh Malone, Gerald Burnett, Justin Houston, Mario McKennon, Melodi Bailey, and the latest her baby girl Faith Mays. She has been privileged to record and minister with multiple talented singers from SWCC, Exodus, Alabama, Texas, Oklahoma, Florida and California. Songs that she is known for are I'm Glad I Know you which she sang with Amy Walker, written by John Edmerson, and Whiter Than Snow, both sung with Exodus , an original entitled I Do, Safe In His Arms, written by John Pooh Malone, and one of her favorite arrangements, If You Can't Make It Through A Storm. Terri's latest CDs entitled Broken was written to encourage people to hold on to God through their storms, and to give people hope through their pains and struggles. She prays that every time you hear her or see her sing that you will see Jesus, and strive to live closer to God. Her goal in life is to live everyday like it's her last because it very well may be. Also she believes in doing what God says, and do it right now as her recently deceased counselor, Truman Scott, once told her.
