A consortium headed by C.F. Møller, ALECTIA and Ramboll has won the competition to build the new Køge University Hospital south of Copenhagen. The project is an expansion of the existing Køge Hospital, which will be increased threefold to a total area of 177.000 m2. The project is worth DKK 4 billion and is scheduled for completion in 2020.

Microsoft will gather its 900 Danish employees at a new domicile in Lyngby outside Copenhagen. ALECTIA has cooperated closely with Microsoft on developing the plans for the new visionary domicile. Henning Larsen Architects and ALECTIA have designed the attractive building, which will be an integral part of the Canal Street area in Lyngby for the benefit of employees as well as customers, partners and citizens.

ALECTIA are consultants on the establishment of a new lactose plant for Arla Foods Ingredients in Jutland, Denmark. The lactose plant is an expansion of the existing whey processing plant at the factory Denmark Protein, which ALECTIA has helped build and expand since 1980.

Danish Crown has established Europe’s most modern cattle slaughterhouse in Denmark. ALECTIA was the client adviser on the project which is the largest one-off investment ever in the Danish cattle industry. The slaughterhouse is built to slaughter approx. 4,500 heads of cattle per week equal to half of all the heads of cattle slaughtered per week in Denmark.

In southern Jutland, Denmark, Aabenraa Municipality is cooperating with the utility company Arwos and Aabenraa Harbour on climate proofing Aabenraa City through cross-disciplinary climate adaptation projects. ALECTIA has facilitated the climate adaptation project from risk assessments to conceptual design.

The Danish utility company Ringkøbing-Skjern Forsyning is setting new standards for drinking water and supply safety with a new waterworks east of Ringkøbing. ALECTIA has based the design for the new Lambæk Waterworks on experience from the food industry, which for years has been working to strict demands on food quality and food safety .

In cooperation with ALECTIA, the construction contractor Jørgen Friis Poulsen A/S has initiated a project to increase focus on employee safety and building site cleanup. Methods such as nudging and systematic cleanup procedures have been used with success and have helped the company to increase the safety with few and simple means.

Alfa Laval’s office in Kolding, Denmark, has obtained an occupational health and safety certification documenting a fine working environment. The certification is proof that the company works strategically and systematically on improving its occupational health and safety. ALECTIA examined the working environment at Alfa Laval prior to the certification and has advised on the creation and implementation of a new occupational health and safety management system.
