LOGO The logo for GREECE is a modern approach to the historical significance of Ancient Greek culture. The Meander patterning is seen throughout clothing, textiles, and artwork. Depending on your focus on the logo the negative space and the larger stroke line can both form a symbolic “G for Greece. The gradation of different colors with the curvy lines is representing the oceans significance on Greek Culture With our logo there should be adequate spacing around the edges of the logo so there will not be any collision of other elements. The space around the logo should never be any less than the height and width of X which is the width and height of the stroke on the logo.

COLOR HIERARCHY Our logo is constructed in a graceful elegance that shows both our great history and also incorporates inspiring colors of the ocean. The logo itself is a representation of the hierarchy between the different values of blues constantly changing like the raising and falling of the tide. They don’t have a linear percent weight but always end up balancing the page out. When using our logo on a page or talking about Greece there should always be a 70% to 30% difference between the gray-scales and colors as illustrated to the right.

TYPEFACES The two typefaces Greece uses are Aqua Grotesque and Cabin. Aqua Grotesque is a modern sans serif font with unique letter shapes that utilize styles similar of Ancient Greek lettering. This font is to be used as headings and in the Logo. The base kerning between the A’s needs to be adjusted closer together everytime. Cabin is a versatile sans serif font that pairs nicely with Aqua Grotesque. It has a deep family and is to be used on all body copy and subtitles. Bold and italics should be used throughout documents sparingly.
