Unión 252

The project stems from the need to create a space interconnected with a sense of openness and lightness. The goal was to transform the existing structure from a single level home of 138m2 to a two-story one, resulting in a total area of 300m2.

The design proposal involves opening up the public spaces on the first level to have a great place for social gatherings and relocating the private areas to the second level. Both levels are connected through voids that inject natural light into the spaces and create an indoor-outdoor connection.

Colegio San Patricio

Colegio San Patricio

DESIGNED DURING MY TIME IN ODA

Architectural project located on Carretera Nacional in Monterrey, Nuevo León. The project arises from the need to create a sports facility that serves as a link between the community of nearby neighborhoods and the students of the school. It is a 5-level building: one level for parking, three interior levels housing a semi-Olympic swimming pool, a private gym for the pool, a full gym, a paddle court, multipurpose rooms, and a basketball court. The terrace is habitable and serves as a running track with recreational spaces for resting. At the lower exterior part, a professional soccer field was included, as it is one of the most popular and important sports in the school.

The architecture incorporates many passive bioclimatic elements to assist in the proper functioning of the building, ensuring good natural lighting and cross ventilation. Additionally, a double facade was designed to serve as solar protection and provide natural ventilation for the building.

IN COLLABORATION WITH TANÍA CORTÉS, JAVIER MONTEMAYOR AND HUGO OZUNA.

The design of this architectural project was based on an extensive market study that helped us determine what would benefit the community in that area. It was concluded that the area needed a project with apartments for young families and commercial space to cater to the area's growth.

A block of commercial spaces was designed at the lower part, with a green area in the center to attract local users and foster community. Towards the back, two blocks of apartments were built atop a parking block to serve both the commercial spaces and apartments. The parking terrace doubles as a social area for the towers, featuring grilling stations, playgrounds, and patios. The two apartment towers accommodate units ranging from 60m2 to 90m2, suitable for young professionals or small families. It was important for us that the design allowed social gatherings for the users of the building and neighborhood.

Baramin offices

The project emerged from the need to modernize old offices that were spacious but low-ceilinged and lacked elements to organize their spaces effectively. The client required more organized areas with specific zones while maintaining an open and modern feel.

The design proposal involves replacing the furniture, removing the existing ceiling to increase height, and changing materials to create a common open space. Lightweight partition walls are used to divide the spaces, resulting in a spacious office that is tidy and promotes communication among colleagues.

The project stemmed from the need to remodel and modernize over 10-year-old technology offices, which were small, segmented, and colored in a way that made the space feel even smaller.

The design proposal aims to create a common open space with light colors and modern, industrialized materials. Some private offices were retained, but transparent partition walls were used to maintain a clean space with natural light ingress, ensuring privacy while fostering connection with the rest of the office spaces.

Cielo 123

Architectural project. The main objective of this project was to design a residential house that fulfilled the client's needs. They wanted all main areas to be on a single level, with only one bedroom, a basement for their music room, and ample green spaces.

A crucial aspect was creating an indoor-outdoor connection. With this in mind, we placed the private spaces on the northern side of the plot and positioned the public areas on the southern side to establish not just visual but also spatial connection between the social area and the garden. Due to its southern location, a spacious terrace with an overhang was designed for solar protection. To provide a similar indoor-outdoor link to the bedroom, a large private garden was placed alongside, allowing for enjoyment of nature. Lastly, throughout the house, natural light was incorporated through large windows, skylights, light wells, and private gardens.

La Tiny Cabin

Architectural and executive project of a cabin at Laguna de Sánchez. The site features a significant slope which we utilized in the masterplan design to create more dynamic outdoor spaces. The client desired a project for personal use while also being able to use it as an Airbnb when not occupied. Therefore, it was crucial to create spaces that met the client's needs while also being flexible for other users.

Three blocks were created for the cabin project at Laguna de Sánchez. One block is dedicated to services, primarily serving as a garage but designed to double as a multipurpose space for events. The other two blocks consist of a private block (north) and a social block (south).

The northern block accommodates two bedrooms and a full bathroom, while the southern block includes the kitchen, a half bathroom, and a flexible area that serves as a living room and/or sleeping space. This layout ensures functionality for personal use while providing flexibility to accommodate Airbnb guests or events when required.

Casa Eglantina 1713 aims to blend traditional and modern elements. It was crucial to capture the clients' desires while creating something fresh and unique. A significant aspect of this house was establishing a seamless connection between the interior and exterior spaces. Therefore, three beautiful designed french doors were proposed to allow for a view of the garden, respecting the original location of the tree.

Another crucial aspect for this house was leveraging its location to our advantage. We extensively used the position of the sun and prevailing winds so that occupants could benefit from these passive elements, making their home a beautiful place to live. This approach ensures optimal natural lighting, ventilation, and overall comfort, enhancing the quality of life within the residence.
