PERSPECTIVAS DEL DESARROLLO REGIONAL EN MEXICO FRENTE A LA GLOBALIZACION Enrique Hernandez Laos* Resumen Durante la dkcada de 10s afios setenta, estimaciones de diversos autores pusieron de manifiesto que Mbxico habia registrado un incipiente proceso de desconcentracidn regional de sus actividades econdmicas, medidas kstas por el product0 interno bruto per capita de las regiones. El objetivo de este articulo es integrar la informacidn histdrica mas reciente respecto al fendmeno, y apuntar las tendencias que cabria esperar en el futuro prdximo, mediante la aplicacidn de un modelo de prospectiva econdmica de tip0 sectorregional, que caracteriza las tendencias derivadas de la apertura de la economia y de la globalizacidn. Con ello se conforma un sistema de informacidn para 10 regiones y para 17 sectores econdmicos, con datos histdricos para 1970, 1980 y 1990, y con proyecciones a 1995 y al at70 2000, que son congruentes con proyecciones nacionales y sectoriales de mediano plazo.
Abstract During the seventies, estimates by various authors made manifest that Mexico had registered an incipient process of regional decentralizing of its economic activities, measured by the percapita gross internal revenue of the regions. The purpose of this article is to integrate the most recent historical information regarding this phenomenon, and to point out the trends that could be expected in the immediate future, through the application of an economic prospective model a of secto-regional type, which characterizes the trends derived from the opening by the economy and globalization. With the above, an information system is set up for 10 regions and for 17 economic sectors, with historical data for the years 1970, 1980, and 1990, and with projections to 1995 and to the year 2000, which are congruent with medium term national and sectorial projections.
