MUSEUM of SENSES JUNIOR YEAR
We are capable of experiencing as many as 27 senses. The most common are sight, sound and touch. To highlight the experience of each, the sensory experiences are isolated. Through out the space they are identified subconsciously through common materials in path of circulation that spirals around the open courtyard, and unique materials in each of the sensory spaces. The interior courtyard is a sensory threshold experience that is felt at entrance and exit of the building, creating a contrast of sensory perception once you have broken down and isolated each of the senses individually.
Textured walls in the stair hallway surrounding the touch space - Each sensory space is represented by a different material to hint at its program
Grass floor in the sensory touch exhibit space to promote clash of texture - The concrete floors through out the building, beging to blend at the entry point to the sensory spaces

YOUTHHOSTEL andPERFORMANCE SOPHMORE YEAR
This project consisted of designing three parts on a site located at intersection of Newbury St. and Dartmouth St. in Boston. The first phase consisted of creating a place of rest; second was to expand to incorporate a performance space; and third phase added the task of including a third component which is the youth hostel that tied in with the initial two parts and added a complex layer of interaction and functionality to the site. Through out each phase I focused my design to emphasize the theme of connecting views and creating a space that was inviting through the emotion of curiosity of the passer by.
