Massouh Aleks Berger South Section The project deals with creating a sanctuary in anTheodora urban setting. The design and layout for this project was influenced by the stages of death. First stage being life, which houses the entry to the site with lobby, information desk and offices. Second is the stage of death, which houses the mausoleum. The mausoleum is organized to reduce direct sun light to accent the idea of transition to the next stage of grief through illumination at the exit. The second floor houses the sactuary which is designed to be a place of grief, with abundant sunlight to help the visitor transition back to the light/life. The visitor then proceeds to the outdoor space which overlooks the historic burial ground, to pause and remember the ones they may have lost. And their journey is completed when they return back to the stage of life through te roof garden. Drawn By

02 PROJECT

FACADE STUDY / PRADA AOYAMA Herzog de Meuron Tokyo, Japan Built 2003

This project consisted of researching and understanding the role facade plays on the function and design possibilities of the building. The building that was selcted was the Prada building designed by the architecture firm Herzon de Meuron in Tokyo, Japan in the Aoyama district. This building is a unique example of how the facade not only creates the envelope for the building but also conceals the structural grid. The facade is made up of structural tubes that are enclosed in the white plastic membrane, to which a system of rhomboid glass panes are attached. The Prada building facade multidimensional, as it consists of a combination of convex, concave or flat panels of glass. These differing geometries generate facetted reflections, which enable viewers, both inside and outside the building, to see constantly changing pictures and almost cinematographic perspectives of Prada products.

03 PROJECT

Intersection of connections

+ WENTWORTH CONNECTION Concept The building will serve as an entry point and a connection to the neigborhood, and the bridge that creates interdisciplinary collaboration between Annex North and Annex East wings. Allowing for a space of intercation as well as link to complete the circulation path of the Annex complex.

The new addition would serve as an entry point and a connection to the neigborhood, and a bridge that creates spaces for interdisciplinary collaboration between Annex North and Annex East wings. Allowing for a moments of intercation as well as link to complete the circulation path of the Annex complex. The glass boxes pertruding from the facade for these occupiable spaces to further extend the connection between the neigborhood and the Wentworth school. The open facade and the extruded windows create the connection between the school and the neigboorhood. And the also allow for light to filter through the buiding to the interior courtyard that is enclosed in the Annex complex.
