Learn The Basic Quality Audit Checklist

In case you are wondering what a quality audit checklist is, it is actually a record of the questions and answers that have been provided during an audit. This checklist is very important to ensure the improvement of your company's processes and systems. First things first, let us discuss what an audit is and other necessary details. For instance, there are three common types of auditing: 1st party audit, 2nd party audit, and 3rd party audit. A 1st party audit is done by the company itself. It is done internally as a form of check and balance to make sure that everything is working perfectly. One employee, preferably a manager or a supervisor, performs the auditing and always aim to be unbiased in everything that he records.

The next type of audit is the 2nd party audit. The auditing is performed by someone who has a high interest in the company. It can be a customer auditing your business or you checking on your suppliers. Again, this ensures your business is working smoothly. The last type is the 3rd party audit. What it simply means is that the company hires an outsider, an auditing firm, to check on the company. The important thing here is that the firm does not have any interest in the outcome of the auditing. So now you know what it is all about. Let us now discuss the basic quality audit checklist.

Do your employees know and understand the company's quality policy? Because how can you expect quality output from your employees if it is not clear to them what makes a quality work or job? The purpose of understanding this is to determine if the problem resides at this most basic level so you will know if a quality training or seminar is needed. Do your employees know the standards that they need to follow? Every department and every job would normally require a different set of standards to be followed. Determining if the employees know these standards is definitely crucial to your processes.

Have the people in your office gotten a copy and actually read the guidelines, handbook, or procedures? If they do not have a copy, where are the printed copies and have these been properly distributed? Perhaps a fresh batch of hand outs would be very much needed. Do the employees perform their own inspections or quality checks? Every person in the organization is responsible for the standards in their own departments or stations so it is important that they know what to be always looking out for. Do the tools and the equipment really contribute to the proper running of your company's operations? Are your equipment in good condition or in dire need of repair or replacement? As you can see it is not just the human resources that needed to be checked but also the tools they use all of the time.
