Hi, I am Alexandra Kvasnicova. And I am young architect searching for new knowledges, new angles of view and informations, that will help me fullfill my dream of being good architect, who creates the world. I was not good student at high school, but know since I found out which field is my lets say home, I changed a lot. Architecture in a way changed my life, I have finally founded something, that interests me 24\7. It was never some kind of duty for me. I have always seen good, even though things might be difficult sometimes. After almost 8 years of studying in Slovakia, Portugal and Czech republic I am ready to continue this journey as a finished architect. I am very ambitious, fast learner and also fast with computer skills, as well as reliable, open minded, good team player and most of all creative. I have tried working in various teams, lately Dyvik Kahlen architects in London, Gut gut and 2021 architects in Slovakia, etc. but all those experiences showed me, that if you work hard, you can change the world, even if it starts with small houses or objects. I very much appretiate you work, If I can say, you are very inspiring to me and I have a feeling, that we might get along very well. All the best and hope to hear soon from you. Alex

eryday day with order of activities, that are changed each day, that means - they will always perceive another space in a different time of a day, week, month and year. This “ergo therapy” is one of the most used therapy for mentally ill patients. Whole complex has very simple organisation, each pavilion has its own function, while they are all connected with circular communication. Each pavilion has its own position, orientation, view and obviously benefits. In this project I focused not only on “volumetric architecture”, but as well as on “voids”. Dividing site with volumes creates uniq exterior spaces with high values as orientation to the building or nature. Thats why I took advantage of it and created courtyards with different qualities. There is several of them. Each has own story, own feeling, own function.
Topic of my diploma project is detention centre and it is been some time since government started to talk about this topic. It is quite new typology, at least at Slovakia, where we miss it. It is facility dedicated for mentaly ill inmates who did the crime under the psychosis. These people are dangerous not only for themselves, but mostly for menkind and that is the reason why to build a place for them, where they are going to be safe and where they are going to have better life. Imagine man, who hurt the member of family under the psychosis, this person does not need to be punished, this man needs help. And this help is the most important point of my project. I designed complex, that reflects behaviour during the day. Detention centre is a place, that needs to have qualities as our world, but in a smaller scale obviously. My concept was to create micro world with its own system and timetable. Patients day is filled ev-

Hostels are residential typology, they need to provide bed for small amounth of money on a valuable possition in a city. My hostel has few principles, such us 3 different types of residential units, each category has its own tower. There are rooms similar to hotel rooms, but also very simple ones. The idea of 3 towers was designed not only to differ types of rooms inside hostel, but also to percieve views on valuable architecture of Karel Prager and Emauzy church. While towers are private, bottom part of hostel belongs to all social activities and provide such a wide range of spaces.

We proposed inverted idea of urban structure, our concept was to make a new street in between galleries. Old vs. new. Street is city-shaping element. On the other hand, we preserved park, which provides shadow, barier from the street, place for relax, etc.

Bridge of experiences
Collaboration with Dominika Galandová and Honza Matoušek Studio Císler Czech Technical University 2017
New bridge is an example to see how to use the river in the city, to show that the river is place of biggest opening, which provides unique views all around, as well as nearness of water and the most important to experience the city from another angle. Bridge provides extension of a public space, as well as
extension of life in general. Our bridge is static, not dynamic. We added third point C, the tower, which is not only symbolic, but mostly place, where we could experience the third dimension of river, point where we could experience the bridge.

there tables and sell products of all kind. The grid we planned is providing shadow for hot days and it keeps up the old flair of narrow, tiny streets, in which you explore something new around every corner and gets surprised again and again. Furthermore we tried to keep the market as simple as possible without any big constructions or planned order, so the sellers are free to create their own environment. A teahouse with an inner courtyard is one of the highlights, where you relax and enjoy your time after shopping at - Monumarket.
Istanbul has been a capital for over already 16th centuries. Four big empires were influencing it during these decades. Thus it became a city with a huge variety of tradition, culture and religion. Therefore we want to combine, in our proposal, the characteristics of an old market with the needs and requirements of a new modern one. A new MONUment for Istanbul should arise. We tried to keep our building quite introverted, that’s why we put the main market floor above the street level and surrounded the first floor with a big wall, out of whit bricks with openings traditional round shaped at the top. The reason was to avert the view of people so they can’t see things directly, which increases their curiosity about the building a lot. On the market floor we provide fourteen cubic shelters arranged in a grid, where sellers can assemble

Student housing
Bachelor project Studio KalesnĂ˝ Slovak Technical University 2015
This was made by excentering corridor on the north orientation. All rooms are then oriented to the sun. This kind of passive architecture is helping also that there are green areas on the terraced roof.
Task for the bachelor thesis this year was to design residential bulding for young graduates. I understood it more like student dormitory. Because as a student who is also renting one room, I may know something about. Site plan is taking place in the city center, what means that it is directly asking the question about the urban structure. On the same hand, rents in the city center are very expensive and most of graduates does not have Money to rent them. My answer was connecting those two arguements in one idea. Urbanism will continue with the city block structure, like it could have be ment in the past, but it wasnt realized that way. I designed two atrium objects, while one is made by me and the other one will be bordered by my regulatives and urban space. Main purpose was to design full-fledged, sunny but on the other hand also intimate space for each owner of dormitory.

Logistic centre for Santa Claus
Ruukki competition Oulu, Finland 2014
based on real measurements of truck container. The idea was to take whole container out of truck by lift and then continue by elevator on exact place where it should be stored. Construction is made out of ruuki products. As I already mentioned, all offices are inside the globe. All around is spiral. Each floor is divided into four levels, so then we have 4 possible entarances out of ramp, but this is the thing what can be changed. We could use every number. Depends on us and our comfort zone. Offices are accesible also from elevator, which is in the center of building. Inside the globe there is atrium, so ventilation is made naturally. Santas office is on the top of globe, he can come by elevator really fast and escape out of roof using his deers. Public space was for me in this project specific task. As I said, I wanted to make it interesting for visitors. Including restaurant, reception and lobby everything is part of process. You can see how containers are flying all around while you are walking up on spiral and finishing your guide on the roof by meeting deers and Santa.
When I first red task about this competition, I imagined movie Charlie and the chocolate factory. I mean, also logistic center for Santa Claus is very similar task. My ideas were to create very gimmicky space, where also visitors could be part of process in logistic centre, where staff will have calm offices, but on the other hand control and where Santa will see all around, but where he can also escape really fast. I made something transparent, what can light from outside like a polar lights. That attracts you and makes u feel curious. I made something different, by storing containers in a vertical way using elevators placed all around. Divided into four sides. I made something unusual, by putting globe inside of cube with spiral around, what shows that Santa is going all around the world. My project consists out of many layers, but it is really easy to understand. There are main 3 parts storing, offices and public space. All service spaces are downstairs, with own service entarance. Accepting orders from all around the world is from one side of the cube. Size for one storage unit is

First what came in my mind was movement in forest. We are always walking around trees, not throught. Its natural to go around, so why should I change this. When we are walking arount, we do not have any barriers, just trunk, but we accapt that one. And we can see everything all around. I wanted to apply this theory on architecture in forest and do not differ from nature.

is for everybody. Word „everybody“ include tourists, people who are walking around, etc. Construction is segregated by using levels and mid-levels. Which are connected with stairs and isolated with different height and net. It makes different parts of construction, that can be used variously.
This project is situated in old part of Lisbon called Alfama, place for me is really interesting, because if offers us many values. First think which came to my mind was „to make the place more interesting“, but I think Im not the only one, with this sentence. This sentence have been inspiring me whole project. I was wondering how can I make something different, something for everybody, not only for workers. I did not want to hide the church and make it accesible only for one group of people. And on the other hand I would like to make something really subtile, simple and flexible. Once the idea came.My construction consists of module cubes 3x3x3, that are located in the raster 6x11 and than raised up to 4 floors. Than I moved some cubes in the mid-level, what provided me option to make vertical segregation. Main idea is to enable 1 construction for 2 different kinds of worlds. One is for worker, who are going to renovate the church, second
