“Powerful dreams, inspire powerful actions”
My name is Alex Boza and I am an Industrial Design Engineer and a curious person who thinks how I can do things differently through the functional, formal and environtmentall design. Travelling is the hobby which best defines me. I think is a way to open one’s mind and see how other people understand their lives in different ways, live new adventures, got to know other cultures and find inspiration arround you. It is important to know all of this to tailor the products for specific markets.

THE BRIEF Design a system of ground transportation, public and collective, in which stands out the high occupation of passengers and low entrepreneurial investmet. This transport system consists in high capacity buses that circulate for a special roads to avoid traffic jam.
RESEARCH Tourism is an important industry in Miami. Along with finance and business, the beaches, conventions, festivals and events draw over 14 million visitors annually into the city from around the world and spending $7.1 billion.
7
THE PROPOSAL Our proposal is a BRT (18 meters) connecting directly and quickly the Miami bus station located in the heart of the city with Miami Beach. The residents and tourists can move around these places in a fast, safe, economic and touristic way.
DESIGN PROCESS It is importan know the region, country,... were you want to introduce your design. For this reason we searched the inspiration in the Miami environment to convey to our clients were are they. At this point the sketch process started to put to paper the ideas.

BUS MODELING Once it defined the final design proposal, it set down in a 3D model to see in more detail the final shapes and give a higher presepctive of the final result. Also, it integrated a corporative logo, colors and the bus stop design to give them the same brand spirit as the bus.
10
PRESENTATION AND CLAY MODEL For the final presentation it made a presentation board with the most important points about the design and a huge render in order to sell as best as possible the product. Moreover, it done a clay model from the front part of the bus. Is were it focused the most part of the design. For our potential investors and users have to recognise when the bus starts to ride through the city.

THE BRIEF Design of an urban folded push scooter. The scooter should have folding system to carry on skateboard bags.
+ OUR REQUIREMENTS Foldable Ergonomic
13
No pollution Manageable
Mobile
THE USER Age: 18-40 years Sex: Female / Male Daily Km: 5-15 km Searching through the city in sustainability, funny, safety and rapidly
PRODUCT MODELING To develop our scooter it took some inspiration from the Brompton Bike and Oxelo scooters and it started with the 3D model to create the folding system to save it and make some structural analysis to see how it responds under physical situations.
14
CAD STRUCTURAL ANALISIS This design step consists in study some structural parts of our scooter in order to discover and know the potential physical reactions. To do this analysis it used Creo Parametric Software, in detail the “Simulate” tool. Below you can see two examples from our analysis series. 1- STRESS ANALYSIS USING STATIC FORCE: It fixed the front part of the weel and it shall then be loaded with a force of 550 N in the handlebar.
15 500N
185 180 160 140 120 100 80 40 20 0
185 MPa
2- VON MISES YIELD AND FATIGUE LIMIT OF THE SCOOTER BRAKE In this part it studied the maximum brake fatigue. The results are based on a cycle of 1,000,000 repetitions.
The displacement will be 1.5 mm and at the end of the brake.
FORCE PERPENDICULAR TO THE SURFACE
The max VM stress will be 350 MPa.
16 VERTICAL RESTRICTION
ALUMINUM 2014
SCREW HOLES RESTRICTION
In the two photos show that the brake will suffer most in the union between the flat piece and the brake. It is the place were accumulate the highest rate of Von Mises stresses.
TECHNICAL DRAWINGS Another fundamental part is the technical drawings, is were you have to describes the parts showing the measures, tolerances, assembly instructions, .... The supplier or the manufacturer need to have the coorect and detailed info to fabricate in the correct way.
