CHAIR’S MESSAGE

NIMA SARHANGPOUR Since its inception in 2004, CaseIT has grown to become the largest Management Information Systems (MIS) focused undergraduate case competition in North America. Each year, 16 teams from around the world participate in a four-day event with the primary objective to congregate the best and brightest students in business case analysis. As a student-driven event, we see immense value in providing participants the opportunity to apply the skills and knowledge toolkits they have developed in the classroom to real-life business scenarios. CaseIT provides the forum for future business leaders to build relationships and strengthen their networks with other students, university faculty, and industry professionals who share the same visions. CaseIT has been a continual success because of your generosity. We rely on sponsors like you to drive this competition forward to new heights and host a world class event year after year. In return, we provide your organization exposure to a diverse audience and the benefit of having access to a pool of talented and highly motivated individuals for recruitment opportunities. Thank you for taking the time to read through this sponsorship package. I encourage you to view our sponsorship benefits list. If you are interested in the sponsorship opportunities available, or if you would like more information, please do contact us at caseit-info@sfu.ca, and we will be more than happy to answer your questions.

ABOUT SFU BEEDIE SCHOOL OF BUSINESS

Simon Fraser University (Burnaby Campus)

Segal Graduate School of Business in Downtown Vancouver

The Beedie School of Business

Segal Graduate School of Business

Since the creation of Canada’s first Executive MBA in 1968, SFU’s Beedie School of Business has championed lifelong learning, productive change and the need to be innovative as we deliver research and teaching that makes an impact.

Since the creation of Canada’s first Executive MBA in 1968, SFU Business has championed the delivery of applicable and innovative programs to support the needs of the business sector. The Segal Graduate School of Business, located in Vancouver’s business district, delivers graduate management education and executive programs in a restored heritage building that facilitates discussion and interaction among professionals, academics and students.

We have achieved a considerable measure of success is confirmed by our accreditation by the AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business), and by receiving the EQUIS Quality award from the EFMD (European Federation for Management Development), globally recognized accrediting agencies for business schools. Less than 1% of business schools worldwide have earned both of these international accreditations. Our faculty, meanwhile, is recognized as one of the Top 100 in the world for business research output. Undergraduate, graduate and Ph.D. programs demonstrate a spirit of innovation, flexibility and relevance. Supported by extensive partnerships with public, private and not-for-profit organizations, our goal is to produce broadly educated, enterprising and socially responsible managers capable of making lasting contributions to their communities.

** The top four universities will be announced at this location and will present their recommendations a second time to over 100 attendees, including a full judging panel, university teams, university faculty, and external observers. **

Simon Fraser University - Harbour Centre (Vancouver Campus)

The Beedie School of Business operates on all three SFU campuses, with:

Harbour Centre

- Over 3400 undergraduate BBA students in Burnaby and Surrey - Over 250 MBA and graduate students at the downtown Vancouver Segal Graduate School of Business campus - Non-credit programs at the director, executive and management levels

Simon Fraser University’s downtown campus blends history with stateof-the-art educational facilities in Vancouver’s most famous landmark buildings. The creation of the downtown campus was a 10-year project. The university had pioneered mid-career professional education in Vancouver in the early 1980s with the launch of a store-front centre.

- A thriving Ph.D.program

GRAND EVENTS During the four days of CaseIT, some of our Grand Events may be offered exclusively to select sponsors. Sponsoring these Grand Events will be the optimal occasion to maximize exposure by separating your company from the rest; thus dramatically increasing visibility, branding and name recognition. For an additional $1,000 on top of the required committed sponsorship level, the following select events can be secured exclusively for your company:

WELCOME DINNER (GOLD+)

CORPORATE FUNCTION (PLATINUM+)

The Welcome Dinner will take place on the first night of CaseIT on Wednesday, February 1, 2012. The Welcome Dinner brings together participants and coaches from worldwide for the very first time. Your company will be invited to make the first impression to our global competitors where a keynote speaker, along with 7-10 of your company representatives, will attend the event.

CaseIT’s Corporate Function will be catered to the international participants of the competition, as well as students from SFU and other universities in British Columbia. This will take place on the evening of February 2, 2012. In past years, CaseIT has organized a three-hour boat cruise, a unique dining experience atop Grouse Mountain for the Corporate Function event. Securing the Corporate Function exclusively for your company will capitalize on your opportunity for networking, branding and prospecting. At this valued networking event a keynote speaker, along with 7-10 of your company representatives, will attend the event.

OTHER SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

TECHNOLOGY SPONSOR This sponsor will be providing CaseIT with 20 laptops with the Microsoft Office 2010 suite for the competition. With this title, the company will be allowed to strategically display company logos on desktops and screen savers. The company providing this service will be given unlimited poster exposure and promotional giveaways. There are other potential arrangements for partnering as technology sponsors – we are open to ways of keeping the event leading edge, or further infusing it with quality technological tools or entertainment.

CASE SPONSOR (PLATINUM+) Similar to grand events, a Platinum+ sponsor can obtain the exclusive opportunity to write the case that will be used in competition. This company will be given the opportunity to have the case professionally written for them. This case will then be given to all 16 teams to deliberate and provide a recommendation in 24 hours. The case will ideally be of a recent or current situation within your company and ideally of a leading edge contemporary issue.

LOGISTIC SPONSOR

“It was amazing to witness the student teams analyze my company and then move forward with ideas and insights... I would estimate about $270,000 in free consulting today and I only watched the top 4 teams” – Clay Hutcherson, CEO and Founder of Binnj

CaseIT 2012 will be requiring vehicles to transport CaseIT participants and coaches between venues and around the downtown core, or just outside of it as needed.

This opportunity is dependent upon time and resource availability. Please contact the CaseIT 2012 Chair, Nima Sarhangpour, at nima.s@sfu.ca for more details.
