Monthly Update

Alexis Faison Merry Christmas Division 1! I hope the holiday season has been treating you well. From holding my first divisional event to planning DCMs and LTG Elections, to dealing with midterms, I can say I'm a bit worn out. Winter break is right the corner, and I can ready to sleep. This newsletter will contain promotions and LOTS of recaps, so make sure you read over them to see what the members of our division have been up to! If you have any questions, comments or concerns please feel free to contact me! Happy holidays! - Alexis Faison

CMRF

Fundraising Ideas (for Fall) Pumpkin Carving Contest Receive donations by having members pay a fee of $5$10 to gain a profit. Ask a local pumpkin patch to donate pumpkins for the event. Involve the community as well!

Pie Eating Contest Receive donations by having members pay a fee of $5-$10 to enter the contest. Ask a local bakery or market for a pie donation. Also another way to involve the community.

Fall Trivia Night Charge a team fee of $15. Create a google form to have people create teams. Host a trivia night in a school cafeteria or a popular community location. Ask questions about fall movies, songs or anything fall-themed.

Club Spotlight

Middle Township High School

Middle Township has been great with attendance and were amazing in our divisional volleyball tournament! I am proud of all the progress they have made, and I can't wait to see the accomplishments they reach in the future.

Divisional Event Recap

On December 15th, 2018 the Division1 Volleyball Tournament was held! Mainland Regional was the host for the tournament, and they did an amazing job with the set up and participating. We had 5 teams that were stellar in their performance. We had food, music, and it was so much fun! (I know, corny). I would like to congratulate 'Big Brick Energy' (LCMR) for winning the tournament!

Lieutenant Governor Elections

Are you thinking of answering the call to serve you homes, schools and communities? You can by running for Lieutenant Governor! You will oversee your division and help each of your clubs reach their full potential. The election is taking place January 5th, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. at the Kiwanis Club of Cape May. Each club must send 2 representatives to vote and elect your candidate. If you have any questions about the process please let me know!

District Project: Hunger in NJ The District Project for the 2018-2019 service year is once again, Hunger in New Jersey. We are continuing to conquer food insecurity because to the NJDB, our job is not done yet. Our goals for this service year are:

Monetary Donations: $65,000 Pounds of Food: 58,000 Service Hours: 25,000

With the help of the NJ District, we can come together to end food insecurity in our homes, schools and communities.

Key Leader Recap

On November 30th - December 2nd, the New Jersey District Board along with other Key Clubbers attend Key Leader: a weekend retreat that teaches servant leadership. I had the opportunity to meet many people and be a student facilitator to the awesome Surf N' Turf Elephants. Thank you for the amazing weekend!
