URGENT ARCHITECTURE Athens, Greece Fall 16’

Concept Statement: To create a shelter that can be quickly deployed, assembled with no tools, big enough to house many people, modular in design, reusable, and relatively in expensive.

ADAPT / RE-USE Springfield, MO Spring 15’

CONCEPT STATEMENT: By reintegrating an existing agriculture mill back into the local area of the Westside neighborhood, I proposal to create an aqua-ponics center in the existing building with vertical, and demonstration gardens along the raparian area. While adding a new structure on the west end of the building to house a fresh produce restaurant.

BOAT HOUSE Springfield, MO Fall 14’

CONCEPT STATEMENT: The driving concept behind this project was to create a multi - use boat house on Lake Springfield. This is achieved through the creating of open spaces for events such as concerts and also the building’s ability to host large rowing competitions. The open plan allows for visual interactions and maintains the lightweight appearance which is important because the structure resembles the rowing boats that it houses.

ISLAMIC MOSQUE Dallas, TX Spring 16’

STRUCTURE

HVAC

CONCEPT STATEMENT: The driving concept behind this project was to create a Mosque in the Cultural District of Dallas. While being downtown, graan space is limited, by pushing the mosque underground and creating an open courtyard in the middle for outdoor services, and meeting areas this eeps a park like feel which is reflected across the street. I was also experimenting with different facade ideas to engae the eye and promote Islamic patterns throughout the exterior and interior of the building.

SOLAR DECATHELON Fall 13’-15’ Irvine, CA

The solar house is a two year competition with 19 other university teams. At the end of the second year the structure will be shipped from Missouri to Irvine California for the competition. The goal of the project is to design a structure that is disaster resistant (in our specific case tornadoes) and is net zero running on only solar panels. To achieve this we are using sustainable materials and design features that reflect our respond, recover, resist ideas. To learn more about the project visit shelter.drury.edu

IMAGINED HOUSE Fall 16’ Aegina, Greece

CONCEPT STATEMENT: The cognitive process is the operation between the real and the imagined which can be disturbed through time in such a way that the products of earlier events can transform the nature of related event.

GYAA’ AANG Fall 16’ Seattle, WA

CONCEPT STATEMENT: The lack of cultural dissemination of Native American culture in Seattle lead to an unsettled identity of Occidental Square. By creating a social commentary about the Totem poles, my rendition is renewing a lost identity and displaying its importance in Seattle as a vertical Culinary Institute.

SERVICES RENTABLE SPACE

DIGITAL FABRICATION Spring 16’

CONCEPT STATEMENT: The main objective of this assignment was to design a surface geometry in Rhino+Grasshopper as either a horizontal or vertical volume from a single continuous, double-curvature surface. Then with this surface as the defining geometry, I had to use Paneling tools in Rhino+Grasshopper to model an occupiable space defined by an integrated enclosure system (surface+structure), which is supported by a continuous 3D printed footing, set into a CNC milled site model made out of MDF.

GRAPHIC DESIGN Thesis Book Cover:

Crow:

My thesis book cover is showing the separation between cultures due to a demarcation line. This demarcation line caused many lost culutral memories in Beirut.

My intent behind this vignette was to create a logo / brand image with a crow being the focal point. The last one was for a funny pun.

Drunken Fish:

ALEX VIEHMAN

The intent behind this design was to create a visual effect of the fish being distorted behind the wine and the hook coming down to catch the fish. The slogan being “Feed the Fish” indicates that maybe this wine is stronger than you think.

LOGO

Springfield, MO Spring 16’

Concept Statement: This logo is to show what my company is through simple curvature with arecognizable twist that would grab the eye of any potential clients.

Style:

Shape:

My logo’s style is a simple diagramatic logo for my company which represents the companies name “Concept” meaning that it is always open to change.

The shape of my logo is a circle to go along with the curvature of a “C” which is represented on the left side of the circle. The surrounding circle puts the rest of the logo on focus as it draws your eye into the middle where the “A” is located. The “A’ is shaped the way it is to resemble a floor plan wall with a door opening, meaning that we are open to all ideas and clients.
