ABOUT My name is Alfonso Morote. I’m an animator, illustrator and architect from Murcia, Spain. I attended the Technical University of Valencia where I received a Master’s Degree in Architecture and Urban Design specialisation. After some years working as an architect and graphic designer, I realized that I would like to continue learning about communication and arts. So I decided to achieve a a Certificate of Advanced Vocational Studies of Fine Arts and Design at the School of Arts of Murcia. Finally, I also was student of the School of Arts and Design of Matosinhos in Portugal thanks to the Erasmus+ Programme. Now I’m looking forward to start new challenges and to grow as an animator artist! LIFE (IS) DRAWING Life drawings give me the opportunity to train my capabilities to analyze organic anatomies, artificial structures and textures. By observing daily life situations and objects, drawing human models in my art classes or looking at videos and photographs, I’m always trying to improve my skills to express movement through drawing in all its forms: gestual sketches, anatomy drawings, colour and light studies...

VISUAL DEVELOPMENT While I have been studying at Murcia School of Arts and also at the School of Arts and Design of Matosinhos, I had the opportunity to train my skills on: • CHARACTER DESIGN • BACKGROUND DESIGN • CONCEPT ART Currently, I continue learning about these works by doing extra workshops or by studying reference bibliography. As I usually say, nothing is better for improving than... learning by doing!

MR. ABEL COSTA Mr. Abel Costa is a journalist who works in a small city. His neighbours start to be expelled from their houses so he decides to research about the matter. 40 years. Strong constitution. Generally serious. He is an observant, sensitive and intelligent person. His movements tend to subtly denote his mood. He has an elegant beard that he caresses when he thinks. STORYBOARD ART In my view, having a good storyboard is essential to develop whatever audiovisual project. Furthermore, for me it is a big pleasure to work on that because I can challenge myself to translate the screenplay into shots, also thinking in timing, light and sound. Training my adaptability to different graphic styles depending on the project seems to me very interesting also. In a nutshell, I love drawing storyboards because it is a kind of mile stone inside the production pipeline!
