The source also said that one fighter of the Popular Committees was killed during the clashes.
The Popular Committees had partaken strongly in the campaign launched by the Yemeni army in 2012 to expel al-Qaeda militants and Ansar al-Sharia from the wide areas which were seized in the province of Abyan.
Late on Sunday, the security services in central city of Taiz ar-
rested three al-Qaeda militants who were planning to carry out assassinations against political and security officers in the province, Yemen’s Defense Ministry website reported. The arrest came under the extensive crackdown that the security services in Taiz has been carrying out since the beginning of this year to hunt down all terrorists, outlaws and wanted people in the province.
WITH ABOUT YR 4 BILLION A two year old girl was kidnapped in Al-Dhale’provincea few days ago in order to be trafficked abroad. The kidnapper was captured by citizens and delivered to thesecurity apparatuses.
This is not the first case and will not be the last one, according to Nabil FadelHead of Yemen Organization for Combating Human Trafficking, ten cases of abduction were recorded within 10 days, and these are only the recorded cases while there might be more abduc-
tions yet to be discovered.
“The kidnapping phenomenon is connected to international networksthat are related to human trafficking. Their activities include kidnapping children and sometimes taking human organs”.
In the capital secretariat alone, many cases were recorded and this has become a threat to all citizens, Yemen Observer covered this issue in depth. Await more details in the next issues.

CONTINUATION FROM FRONT PAGE BUSINESSMEN SEEK MILITIA FOR PROTECTION facilities fully responsible for speeding up freeing businessman Hassan Abdo Jaied who has been kidnapped for 38 days now, expressing their extreme condemnation to the slackening and connivance of some parties in addressing this case since the middle of Ramadan until now. Meanwhile, Mohammed Salah, Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce at the Capital Secretariat, described the current situation as an unstable stage plaguing Yemeni life leading to the complications of the administrative and judicial negligence, making life impossible in the state which lacks justice and stability and unable to facilitate social coexistence between the citizens, according to him. “We are living in an incontinent situation which forces us to deal with the scenes of its facts and reality and interact with their sources and impacting our near future,” Salah added. He said that the security disorder in Yemen was aggravated and caused administrative and judicial negligence, making life impossible in a state that fails, according to him to achieve justice, stability and coexistence among the citizens. Salah added that what annoys the Yemenis are the criminal acts which target businessmen, the youth and others, ensuring the standing of businessmen and all the Yemeni people to-
gether to resist these criminal actions and put an end to them.
The Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce asked the state to live up to its responsibility in the provision of the simplest human rights to its citizens realized in the protection of their lives, rights and properties, declaring the refusal of all Yemenis of the criminal actions which cause damage to the national economy and distort the image of the local market in the minds of the private capitals which desire to invest in Yemen as well as being a repellent to the national capital, which is a major national force. Meanwhile, the Yemen Observer called Tareq Abdul-Wsie Hail who said he is abroad now and promised to respond to our paper’s questions when he returns home.
UK FORCES HIRAK LEADER BACK TO NDC northern forces under one vision towards the southern issue’s solution. “Depending on the response to the message, the southern People’s Conference will hold a meeting in light of the response to take ultimate decisions,” the source explained.
He pointed out if the authorities in Sana’a started positive dealing with the southern demands, this will be the first step towards peers’ negotiations, where the place of negotiations will be determined and all the outcome of the negotiations will be under international guarantee
from the GCC initiative’s sponsoring countries. In a related issue, a leading official at the NDC said the dialogue will be completed in Sana’a and the NDC will not be transferred to any place outside Yemen under any circumstances. The official who preferred to speak anonymously said in a statement to al-Siasah journal; consider the Hirak representatives’ demands for changing the dialogue to bilateral negotiation and transferring it abroad as impossible at this critical stage. «.
“The mechanism of the NDC, which is currently held in Sana’a is mainly based on equality of fifty- fifty between the north and south which meets the Hirak’s demands in this regard, ” the source reiterated, adding, “the real problem is the mechanism of reaching a consensus to resolve the split among the NDC members over the shape of the state, as one party insists on a federal state of two regions consisting of three to four provinces, a proposal which is supported by some of the southerners, while another party prefers a federal state of five to six regions which is refused by the southerners who believe that it will lead to splitting the south.”
YEMENI PRESIDENT ACCUSED OF TREASON Some MPs supported MP Beshr’s act, while others representing the Joint Meeting Parties (JMP) bloc objected to the request and asked Beshr to withdraw the charge, but
the latter insisted on his request based on the reasons he presented, which include breaching the sovereignty of Yemen by allowing U.S. raids and government corruption. Parliament Speaker Yahya al-Ra’ee asked Abdo Beshr to withdraw the charge, although he said that Hadi is responsible for the mistakes.
A legal source said that the legal aspect of Beshr’s demand is ambiguous, as in natural cases and with the consensus 151 MPs the parliament has the right to charge the president with treason. After being charged with treason, the president is referred to trial and the House Speaker assumes powers of the president until presidential elections are held. However, the legal source pointed out that the GCC initiative has suspended the current constitution which raises confusion about the legal status of the Parliament’s requests to charge senior state officials with treason. MP Abdo Beshr was elected twice as representative of the General People’s Congress (GPC) in the parliament and was the first to resign from the membership of the GPC in solidarity with the youth protests
and founded with a group of colleagues who left the GPC a new bloc in the parliament. The bloc which was formed in 2011 was called the Free MPs bloc. Beshr was then dismissed from the Free MPs Bloc in April 2012 to establish a new party called Ahrar Organization.

The contest is the first public event held by members of the al-Qaeda since they were expelled from the provinces of Abyan and Shabwa by the Yemeni armed forces in the mid of last year.
Al-Jamal pointed out that «al-Qaeda in Yemen has given priority to guidance and social activities, lately.»
He also indicated, «The official complicity with Houthi group in Sa›adah province may have had a role in pushing many from the Sunni tribes to get around al-Qaeda, which they see as capable of protecting their areas from the Houthi expansion.»

One of Aden businesswomen, Masia Ibrahim -35-, said that Aden city is collapsed. “Aden youths now use drug pills in a horrible way. They do not work; they just spend their time chewing Qat and use drugs. They
beg their parents for money to go buy Qat and drugs.” She confirmed “they sometime steal money from their parents or somewhere else.” “This is really tragic and must stop.” “I’m working on a project right here but parties we work with do not carry out work on time. They complain and postpone. They are not determined to implement work. People unfortunately
become dependent youths in particular.” A pharmacist Finan Ahmed, 30, expressed resentment of situations in the province saying these acts are disastrous. “What is going on here is unacceptable. By this, Aden youths do not want to achieve success and make a name of their city Aden.” Ibrahim added that Aden should be a tourist city for its ideal location plus the pres-

ence of ports. “There are no good services in Aden. If I have any work or project, I just implement it in Sana’a.” Wherever you go in Aden city, you find people nagging there of bad services, spread of insecurity and moral cor-
ruption. Karima Mohammed Ali, a housewife, said Aden has never be like this before. “Aden is going to unknown.” Ibrahim stated that Aden changes specially after the popular uprising that swept almost all provinces of the country in 2011. Moreover, the businesswoman Ibrahim accused Aden governor Wahid Ali Rashid of not playing a vital role in the city to prevent such acts Politicians attribute all this to political players who have
political agenda and those who lost their interests in the state in the recent period. The politicians further attribute this to the role played by Hirak (Southern Movement) which emerged in southern provinces to protest injustice following the 1990 unity. Hirak tried to create chaos and organize marches and commit disobedience in an attempt to split from the south. The movement called Yemen security and army as occupation that should leave southern provinces according to it. It wants autonomy.
POVERTY DEMOLISHES CUSTOMS AND TRADITIONS SANA’A – For sceneries, Yemeni people stuck to their rich customs and traditions which made them distinctive however, the constant economic deterioration demolishes and shrinks many of these customs. During the past two decades, Yemeni people found themselves obliged to drop many of their customs due to the price hikes and declining economy. The UNICEF report of 2011 stated that 45% of the Yemeni people live under poverty line. BY: ALMIGDAD MOJALLI
Having small wedding parties instead of big ones is one of the main customs influenced by the economic deterioration in Yemen. In the past, the wedding party used to last for one week during which the families of both the bride and the groom used to invite all friends and relatives to spend about one week with them celebrating the wedding. The costs of food, fireworks…etc. were high. However, during the past two decades people shrink gradually many of the wedding party rituals; the duration becomes one day, only close friends and relatives are invited for lunch and no fireworks or live ammunition…etc. Rashed Ahmed, 58, of Sana’a said, “people used to celebrate the wedding for five to seven days when everything was affordable, but now many rituals vanished.” He added, “people now celebrate the one day wedding and invite only neighbors and close relatives.”
Moreover, it was a custom that the brothers-in-law bring 50 Kg of wheat, 50 kg of sugar, 20 kg of ghee, as well as one sheep, Qat and tobacco as a support for the groom, nevertheless people have abandoned this custom and replaced it with amount of money, “ the food stuff that we used to bring in the past with about YR 20,000 cost us now about YR80,000 which is difficult to provide particularly for people in villages, “ mentioned Ibrahim Yahya, 56.
Also, relatives in rural areas used to help each other financially or in kind when building houses, however this habit has been dropped,
Having small wedding parties instead of big ones is one of the main customs influenced by the economic deterioration in Yemen “ it was a custom to bring sheep or to money for any of your relative as an aid if he is building house, nevertheless people find it heavy burden,” mentioned Hussein Al-Matari, 61 from Sana’a. Saleh Monasser,50, stated that he helped three of his
brothers-in-law when they built their houses but could not afford the same support to his cousin when he built his house three years ago, “ it has become a big burden and very difficult to provide,” he said adding, “the affordable help nowadays is restricted to giving a loan not free support.”
Moreover, having a banquet and slaughtering a sheep when receiving a new son is one of the customs demolishes due to the declining economic situation. When a father receives a new son, the father making a big banquet and invite the relatives and some of his close friends. Also, the uncle of the infant brings one sheep as well as some food stuff.
