OBITUARY MILLER, Harry   Harry Miller of Wawa passed away on Sunday, April 1, 2018. He was 86. Beloved husband of Ruth (Barrett) Miller. Dear Father of Lynn "Jo" Davidson(Ron) of Wawa, Clifford Miller(Kathy) of Wawa, Ken Miller(Michelle) of Sault Ste. Marie and Curt Miller(Becky) of Aylmer. He will be missed by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sister Inez Boland and Ray Miller. Born in Sault Ste. Marie on February 26, 1932, son of the late Harry and Mary (Halron) Miller. Harry owned and operated Harry Miller Construction in Wawa for many years. Cremation to follow. MALLAIS, Adam Drew   Born August 20, 1964 passed away unexpectedly in the early morning hours on Monday April 2, 2018. Father of Jamie Lee, late Zachary Adam, Mary Melodie (Andrew), Adam Jesse and Joshua Drew. Son of the late Mary and Roger Mallais. Brother of Maggie Shannon (Neil), Stanley Mallais (Susan) and Eric Mallais (Sandy). Adam will be remembered by his nieces and nephews Lori, Andrew, Karyn, Ethan and Jessica. TAKE NOTICE that the Council of The Corporation of the Municipality of Wawa will be holding a public meeting under Section 34 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c.P13, as amended, to allow the public to comment on a proposed Zoning By-Law Amendment, the purpose of which is to establish regulations for in-water structures including docks.

DETAILS OF THE ZONING BY-LAW AMENDMENT

The purpose of the proposed zoning by-law amendment is to amend the Restricted Area (Zoning) By-Law 2821-15, by adding a new section to the Zoning By-law to recognize the jurisdiction of the By-law over Crown land, waterbodies and lands covered by water. The proposed amendment will also add new provisions to permit and regulate docks and inwater structures such as boat lifts and personal water craft ports. A draft zoning amendment is available for review and comment.

ALGOMA DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD HUMAN RESOURCES OFFICER QUALIFICATIONS  University degree, Human Resources Certificate.  Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP).  Minimum of five (5) years Human Resources experience in a unionized environment, preferably within a School Board setting.  Thorough knowledge of legislation related to the Labour Relations and the Education Act. The proposed amendment applies to the entire Municipality and therefore a key map has not been provided. The purpose of this meeting is to ensure that sufficient information is made available to enable the public to generally understand the Zoning By-Law Amendment that is being considered by Council. Any person who attends the meeting shall be afforded an opportunity to make representations in respect of the proposed amendment. If you wish to be notified of the decision of Council for the Corporation of the Municipality of Wawa in respect to the Zoning By-Law Amendment, you must submit a written request (with forwarding addresses) to the Clerk of the Municipality of Wawa at 40 Broadway Avenue, Wawa, Ontario, P0S 1K0. If a person or public body files an appeal of a decision of the Council for the Corporation of the Municipality of Wawa, as the approval authority, in respect of the proposed Zoning By-Law Amendment, but does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make submissions to Council before the proposed amendment is adopted, the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal (LPAT) may dismiss all or part of the appeal. The draft Zoning By-Law Amendment is available to the public for inspection at the Municipality of Wawa Municipal Office located at 40 Broadway Avenue, Wawa, Ontario on Monday to Friday, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Mailing Date of this Notice: April 5, 2018.
