Celebrating Our Great "Great Trail" Article & photos by Barb Fisher   Paddlers, non-paddlers and wannabe paddlers assembled last Saturday at dry dock Naturally Superior Adventures under sunny skies and calm waters to reenact in part a little bit of our maritime history.   The Trans Canada Trail construction began in 1992, Canada's 125th birthday and organizers were hoping to have the 24,000 km Great Trail completed by this year, Canada's 150th birthday, but many gaps remain. Patches of unsegregated road shoulders and gaps without shoulders must still be bridged. But no matter, we are lucky folk here in our community where the water trail follows the Lake Superior shore for 1,000 km offering paddlers 16 access points between Gros Cap Marina Park close to the Soo, to Thunder Bay's Fisherman's Park. Where the Michipicoten and Magpie rivers meet and the river widens and curves to Lake Superior, paddlers experience the world's longest stretch of underdeveloped freshwater coastline. To the west lies Ontario's largest national park, Pukaskwa and to the south, one of the provinces
