Kids Play Safe Awareness Day

Give-aways of sun glasses, lip bomb and a beaded bracelet was given to each child whereby the beads change colour in the hot sun, cautioning the child to wear sunscreen and a hat, or take a break in the shade.   Wawa and Area Victim Services offered information on internet safety; a very integral part of life in all young-

In a fun way to promote awareness of other safety issues, a spin of the game wheel prompted the spinner to think about and answer a question of what they would do in a certain situation.   MNR Fire Ranger crew offered Wildland Fire Management Strategies and how we can reduce the risk of fires in our wooded environment. A visual display was set up depicting a forest cabin properly clear from fire hazards, opposite a cabin that was covered in trees, brush, firewood piles and debris.
