COVER LETTER

I just completed MArch in Urban Design at Bartlett School of Architecture in UCL. I am highly motivated, I possess excellent sketching and computer skills, and I enjoy working as part of a team. Moreover, I am skilled in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Auto CAD and Sketch up, and have basic skills in Rhino, As well as Sketching as part of my studies , I also enjoy sketching architecture and landscapes during my travels. From 1998 to 2002 I studied Graphic design then I worked for Game graphic company as a senior designer for 2years. I was given the responsibility of managing a design schedule and creating a concept for a new project. In addition to this, while studying, I had a part time job making flash animations for 4years. I decided to study Architecture abroad, as i am inspired by city and public spaces. I then studied for March Urban Design in Bartlett school of Architecture. Before MA, I worked for Interior Architecture Company for 1year. It was a great experience to undergo as a part of team in English Interior Architecture Office. I was inspired to study Urban design due to an interest in architectural books. It seems that architects are philosophers who design buildings. This philosophy has led me to study urban design so that I can contribute to make better cities and a better life for their inhabitants. “First life, then spaces, then buildings – the other way around never works”

Gehl, 2006

Since My Master, I met a tutor from AA who attended my midterm and final crit for the degree. She gave me an offer to design a book which is about AA visiting school programme. I think that visualsation of works and ideas is a very important part of the design process, especially to communicate with people from a non-architectural background. While working with her, I am eager to learn Architecture and Urbanism, I am also willing to learn software which best conveys ideas. I can guarantee that I am always ready to learn. I am not afraid to face challenges and have a ‘can do’ spirit. I believe my background with various skills, experiences and thoughts will make me an asset to your company in a very short time.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours Faithfully, Alice Yanghee Lee
