ALIF ART GALLERY
Alif Art Gallery is a contemporary art gallery based in Dubai, focusing on Central Asian Art. The gallery’s mission is to develop an understanding of the breadth of Central Asia’s contemporary visual arts in the Middle East and beyond, through both commercial and non-commercial exhibitions that showcase emerging and established artists from the region. Founded by Natalya Andakulova, Alif Art Gallery’s goal is to promote an understanding of the rich Central Asian culture and reflect the region’s long-standing heritage through a public programme including exhibitions, talks, workshops and tours.

Andrey Krikis Andrey Krikis was born in 1950 in Yaroslavl, Russia and is a graduate from Yaroslavl Institute of Art. From early childhood he lived in an atmosphere of historical and spiritual cognition of the world, absorbing the bright pictures of life filled with the southern sun, which afterwards were interpreted into unusual and somewhat fantastic images and put to canvas. Referred as “The king of color”, Krikis’ paintings demonstrate his bright individuality and color. Some of the exhibitions he has participated in include Solo Exhibition dedicated to the 60th Anniversary of the artist, Art Gallery “Chorsu”, Uzbekistan; Solo Exhibition organized by Swiss Bureau of Development and Cooperation, Embassy of Switzerland, Tashkent; Exhibition, “Russian Festival”, San Francisco; Touring Exhibitions - Greece, Mongolia, India, Bangladesh, Germany, Sweden, France, USA, South Korea.
Bobur Ismoilov Bobur Ismoilov is a painter born in Uzbekistan in 1973. After having studied design at the School
of Art named after Benkov and Mannon Uygur Art Institute, he worked for various theaters, cinema, animation, but is also involved in the fields of graphics and design. He is a member of the Creative Union of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan since 1998; he was awarded the Gold Medal of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan in 2008. His work has been exhibited at Tashkent 6th International photo biennale, Art Gallery of Uzbekistan; Group Exhibition of Uzbek artists “Tree of oblivion”, State Museum of Oriental Art, Moscow; Solo Exhibition, Art Gallery of Uzbekistan; “Recontres Internationales” exhibition and video art, Paris – Berlin – Madrid; Tashkent 6th International Biennale of Contemporary, Solo Exhibitions in frames of Treasures of Uzbekistan festival at the Bource de la Commerce Hall, Paris; International Arts Festival “Silk Road”, Smithsonian Institute of Washington; Exhibition Central Asian artists, Humay Gallery, London.
Mikhail Petrov-Kaban Born in 1966 in Russia, Mikhail graduated from Novoaltay Art College in 1990 and Surikov’s Moscow State Architecture & Art University in 1996. Mikhail is a Member of Russian Professional Artists Union. Mikhail’s aim is to bring to the world something that is impossible to explain in words and only understood through contemplation. He uses figurative and objective forms, trying to reach the level of generalization that reflects the diversity of his mental outlook through utilizing as few means of expression as possible. Most of his masterpieces are sold out to private collections worldwide. Prominent exhibitions include “Nevada-Semipalatinsk”, joint exhibition, Moscow; Young Artists of Siberia, Moscow; Young Artists Axhibition, Malta; Exhibitions of Salon Russ Art Gallery, London; “Art Today”, joint exhibition, Moscow.
Sanjar Djabbarov Sanjar Djabbarov was born in 1986 in Gulistan. In 2008 he graduated from the National Institute of Arts and Design named after K.Behzod, Department of Industrial Design. From 2006 to 2010 he worked at the Art Gallery of Uzbekistan. Since 2008 he is a member of “5+1” creative group at the Art Gallery of Uzbekistan. Sanjar Djabbarov’s works can be rated as avant-garde, which is characterized by an experimental approach to creativity that goes beyond the classical aesthetics, with the help of original, innovative means of expression and pronounced symbolism of artistic images. His works are created in the style of abstract art. Sanjar Djabbarov took part in Tashkent International Biennale of Contemporary Art, and various exhibitions held by the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan, “Navkiron Uzbekistan”, national festival of traditional and modern art and many others.
Sergey Poliakov
Timur Akhmedov
Sergey Poliakov was born in 1956 in Belarus. He graduated from Moscow Art College in 1980 and in 1987 received his degree from Surikov’s Moscow State Art Institute. In 1992, Sergey became a member of International Federation of Professional Russian Artists.
Timur Akhmedov was born in 1968 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. He is a graduate from the College of Art of Uzbekistan (’87) and Academy of Art of Uzbekistan (’90) and is a Member of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan.
Today one can find Sergey’s artworks in Tretyakov Gallery, Moscow Museum of Modern Art, Bahrushin’s State Museum of Dramatic Art, Tatarstan Republic Art Museum, Art Galleries M Ars, Kino, Hlebnikova Gallery, Yara’s Gallery in Russia, and Ann Castello Gallery in US.
Akhmedov’s art is characterised by high tension in the harmony of colour: clear and simple only at first sight, his art often contains element of implicit symbolism.
Exhibitions he has participated in include Young Artists Art Exhibition, Moscow; Solo exhibition, Mill River Gallery, Massachusetts, USA, Solo exhibition, Lowenstein Gallery, Lincoln’s Centre Fordem University, New York; “Europe ART” International Fair, Genève, Switzerland; Solo exhibition, Gelikon Opera Theatre, Russia, “Art Manège”, Moscow.
His works have been featured in many private and corporate collections such as musician Seal, Dr. M.W.J. Smurfit, HSH Prince Albert of Monaco and The Kildare Hotel & Country Club, Ireland; and exhibitions such as Theatre Ilhom, Uzbekistan; “Gallery 28”, Cork Street, London; Gallery “Master”, Moscow; Gallery “Galina Maxwell”, France; Marbella Club, Spain; Artfair, Scotland; “St. Moritz Art fest”, Swiss.
معرض الفن أليف معرض للفن المعاصر مقره في دبي ،يرتكز على فن آسيا الوسطى .مهمة المعرض تقوم على تطوير فهم الفنون البصرية المعاصرة من آسيا الوسطى في منطقة الشرق األوسط وخارجها ،من خالل المعارض التجارية وغير التجارية التي تظهر الفنانين الناشئين والراسخين من تلك المنطقة. أسس المعرض من قبل ناتاليا أنداكولوفا ،بهدف تعزيز فهم ثقافة آسيا الوسطى الغنية وعكس تراث المنطقة الغني من خالل البرامج العامة بما في ذلك المعارض والمحادثات ،وحلقات العمل والجوالت.
