KING ABDULAZIZ ARABIAN HORSE CENTER
Under the Patronage of the Custodian of the Holy Mosque H.H. King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud the sixth edition of this magnificent event took place in Saudi Arabia. The show is a Title Class A and takes place at the King Abdulaziz Arabian Horse Centre (KAAHC). This centre, or breeding farm as it is called, was built in 1381 and is a true national monument entirely dedicated to the Arabian horse. Located west of the capital Riyadh, it covers an area of approximately one million square metres. In addition to being a centre for the preservation of famous breeds such as Al Kuhailah, Al Ubbiyah or
Al Saqlaiyah, it is a park rich in plants and structured to host world-class shows on its well-kept grass ring. Again this year, nine judges from all over the world have been invited. From Poland Mrs. Anna Stjanowska, Mrs. Irina Stigler from Russia, Mr. Urs Aeschbacher from Switzerland, Mr. Cristian Moschini from

SHOWS AND EVENTS
Announcing and calling out the field is the beautiful voice of Mrs. Nabilah Al Ali from Kuwait. Attentive to follow every move of the judges and horses in the field is Dr. Vet. Mohammed Hammad from Egypt. It is customary that in important shows with a very high number of horses, as in this case with 287, the DCs are numerous, both for the controls and for security in the prering and the best in their roles were invited to perform this task: Mrs. Jacqueline Vandyke, Mr. Waleed Al Haddadi, Mr. Saad Alqasim, Dr. Vet. Abdelwahab Bin Ali Amira, Dr. Vet. Bassem Badr, Mrs. Nourah Saeed Albagami and Eng. Obada Ahmad Zabadi who always and everywhere present did an incredible organisational job and to whom our compliments go for the superlative success of the show. Thanks also to Mrs. Nada Shahwan especially for the daily co-ordination of all the guests. The show takes place from 13 to 16 December, it must be said that the timing is perfect, the first horse in class 1A enters punctually at 15.15 and on the first three days everything runs smoothly including categories and prize-giving. What strikes us and the judges most is the very high quality of the horses present and also the number of new breeders. The results obtained at shows abroad by the great Saudi breeders over the past 20 years have been numerous but this year in Qatar at the World Championship we saw 2 platinum medals awarded to Saudi-owned horses: “Eks Alihandro” in the stallion category and “Anood Al Nasser” for broodmares. Also a silver and a bronze with the Yearling Fillies Shahbrys HVP and Amirah Alymeen, a gold and again a bronze in the Yearling Colts with
42 | TUTTO ARABI - www.tuttoarabi.com
Sari Ajmal and Sahm Sarm. And then again, a silver in Junior Fillies with Nourah Al Khalediah and a welldeserved bronze with Sultan Alenaya. Remarkable successes also abroad! The fourth day starts in the morning and is dedicated to one of the championships that you can only see in this country: the “Desert Bred”, specimens of Arabian horses that have maintained their desert heritage over time without ever becoming part of the Stud Book, but which hold an important tradition. A top breeder of these subjects is undoubtedly Athbah Stud and it is also clear from the number of medals won in the 6 classes: 4 gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze. Coming to the championship, the most awaited moment: we start with the Yearling Fillies with gold for SF “Nora” (Eks Farajj x SF Ghazalah) owned by Al Qammra Arabian Horse Company. Silver medal for “Loulwah Raghwan” (EKS Farajj x Daina Almuawd) owned by Motab Bin Moneer Al Qhtane / Raghwan Stud. Bronze for “Katara B.K” (EKS Farajj X Shalfa Almuawd) owned by Al Arab Stud Trading Company/ Al Arab Stud. We continue with the Yearling Colts and it is “Naif Al Areeb” (Mutabahi Al Hawajer x Ghzaia Al Dahm) owned by Faisal Saad Jofain Al Otaibe / Al Areeb Stud that takes the gold medal and it is certainly with joy that with “Shaqran Al Areeb” (Mutabahi Al Hawajer
SHOWS AND EVENTS
x Morjana Al Nawasi) also takes the silver medal. Bronze goes to “Akmal Athbah” (Wajeeh Athbah x Mawee Athba) owned by Hrhp Abdulaziz Bin Ahmad Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud/Athbah Stud. For the 2-3 year old Fillies the gold goes to “Demasheq Alsayed” (Validoro x Delights Divah Rb) Of Alsayed Stud. Silver went to “Lulu Alriffa” (Aaser Athbah x Darjah Athbah) owned by Alsayqal, Rayan Abdulrahman B Alsayaqul Stud. Bronze for “Royal Ghaia” (Royal Asad x Ghazala El Jamaal) owned by Faisal Mohammed Abdullah Alhaqbani/Alnw Stud. Hamed Sarm’ (Royal Asad x Treasure As) is the gold medal winner for the Junior Colts, owned by Sultan Hamed Mastor Alharthi/Sarm Stud. Silver for ‘Mashhoor Alsayed’ (Validoro x Durrah Al Sayed) owned by Alsayed Stud. “Wi Kanz” (Shael Dream Desert x WP Fame And Fortune) owned by Mazen Sheliya Mubarak Alfaidi/ Al Mazen Stud is Bronze Medal. This brings us to the two most eagerly awaited championships of the day and we talk about broodmares and stallions. Every breeder would like to have a bellyful of one of the three mares that will bring home a medal, just as every breeder would like to have a mount of the
best stallion with the champion crown around his neck. The best of the broodmares, and I can assure you that it was not easy for the judges to choose was “Nuwayer Al Sayed” (Alexxanderr x Nuzyrma Dinn Sa) of Alsayed Stud followed with a well deserved silver “AJ Djamilja” (WH Justice x Djasira Princess Psytadel) of Abdulaziz Bin Abdullah Bin Hamad Bin Saleem/ Hamat Stud. Bronze medal for “Aj Raheda” (Wh Justice x Lumiar Rosalita) by Abdulaziz Ahmed Abdullah Alfouzan/ Tala Stud. We are at the end of the show and I must say that it has been a light day, spent with serenity and with the pleasure of admiring the quality that befits the Arabian Thoroughbred breed. At this level of horses, with excellent pedigrees, giving a medal is difficult but we all know that it is a competition and one would like to be able to reward them all. There is a jury, there is a competition, and then there is a winner, who for the sixth edition of the KAAKH International Show is “Amaar” (RFI Farid x Adiya) owned by Mr. Mohammad. Ebjad Albutti. It is followed with Silver by “Equator” (Qr Marc x Ekliptyka) by Abdulaziz Bin Saleh Bin Abdulaziz Al-Rajhi/Al Rajhiyat Stud. The Bronze is for “Wortex Kalliste” (Shanghai Ea x Mirwanah Kalliste) by Naif Ghazi Basheer Alotaibi. Thanks to all the organisation that also for this sixth edition allowed us to take part in one of the best organised events. q

• BRONZE SCULPTURE • by Judy & Kim Nordquist
Bronze becomes life Flying across the ivory sands of the Egyptian desert on the back of a magnificent Arabian stallion with the Pyramids of Giza silhouetted against the radiant glow of dawn, experiencing the excitement of the Moroccan Fantasia at the royal stables as a guest of King Hassan II, marveling at the beautiful Fountains of Rome and classic sculptures of Michelangelo in the Vatican – that is what dreams are made of!
Judy & Kim Nordquist
the mother-daughter team has travelled the world researching the history and culture of the Arabian horse. Through their travels, they have found inspiration for many of their elegant sculptures. Their Collectors Limited Bronze Sculptures reflect the classic style of the 19th century French school of sculpture, “Les Animaliers”, and range in size from miniature to Life-Size. Their lifelong passion for horses has resulted in sculptures with realism and character that seem to come to life!

Judy and Kim’s bronzes are collected internationally and the list of people who commission and collect their work reads like an international Who’s Who of Arabian horse enthusiasts.

Morion The value in a breeding horse lies in the dam family and three of Polish Arabian horse history´s most influential dam families are Gazella, Mlecha and Sahara. Mares and stallions of the best quality were hard to come by in the 19th century, so on January 7 1844 Count Juliusz Dzieduszycki of Jarczowce Stud embarked on a journey to Arabia to purchase a group of horses. The three desert-bred mares that arrived at Jarczowce in 1845 would be invaluable for Polish breeding and the largest and prominent family of the three would be the Gazella-family.

Miriam was transferred to Michałów in 1952 but had only two foals before she passed away in 1956. Her daughter Manilla (by Doktryner) left 13 offspring and secured the family with 8 daughters of which 4 was retained as broodmares at Michałów. The bay Mitra (Celebes x Manilla) was one of Director Jawarowski´s favorite mares, a great moving mare with huge black eyes and beautiful Kuhailan type. Mitra was named Polish National Reserve Champion Mare in 1980

Her son Mezalians (by Tallin) was sold to Elisabeth Chat in Austria where he stayed his whole life until his passing at 34 years of age in 2022. Mezalians was 1992 Babolna International Senior Champion Stallion. Mezalians full-sister Minerwa produced the daughter Mina (by Monogramm) in 1994 before she was exported to USA later the same year. Mina was sold to private breeder Slawomir Lange and she had two foals - the bay filly Minnesota (by Wachlarz) and the grey colt Migrant (by Emigrant). In foal to Ecaho and together with her offspring, Mina was sold to Małgorzata and Józef Pietrzak and they named their stud after the filly Minnesota, whom they unfortunately lost as a 3-year old. The family of Mina would be prosperous and successful for the Pietrzak´s. The colt Migrant was Polish National Junior Reserve Champion Private Bred and was named Senior Champion Stallion at the Babolna International Show, Milton (Ecaho x Mina) was Polish National Junior Champion Stallion Private Bred and Missouri (Wachlarz x Mina) was Summer Arabian Horse Show Champion Mare in Warsaw. She was bred for the first time in 2012 and the choice fell on Kahil Al Shaqab who was standing his first year in Poland. Kahil has a royal pedigree and is the third generation stallion claiming the World Champion title. His sire Marwan Al Shaqab was named 2001 World Yearling Champion the same year as his legendary sire Gazal Al Shaqab was named World Champion Stallion. Kahil himself was named World Junior Champion in 2011 together with the Best Head award and the Highest Scoring Horse of the Show. Kahil has several full-siblings but there are two that stands out like Kahil and it is Sultanat Al Shaqab, 2015 World Silver Yearling Champion, 2015 Menton Gold Champion Yearling with half-sister D Shireen (Magic Mon Amour/Windsprees Mirage) as Silver Yearling Champion. Abook review byJudith Wenning The latest book by Judith Forbis is a must-read for all equine enthusiasts. Legendary connoisseur of Arabian horses, breeder and author since over 60 years, Judith Forbis’ role is unique. Together with her late husband Don, she founded Ansata Arabian Stud in 1959, a straight Egyptian Arabian breeding program with vast global influence. Arabian horses from Ansata had a major impact on innumerable stud farms. One of the most prominent is certainly Al Shaqab Stud in Doha, Qatar. Founded in 1992 by HH The Father Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa. Al Thani, Al Shaqab is a household name for high-quality Arabian horses. Always a guarantee for success in the show ring, Al Shaqab is not only a very successful breeding program 114 | TUTTO ARABI - www.tuttoarabi.com
in impeccable facilities, but also a leading equine education resource center. Qatar looks back to a long tradition of prized Arabian horses. This large-formatted book gives insights into the fascinating history, the presence and the influence of Al Shaqab horses. “Al Shaqab - The Legacy of Arabian Horses” is lavishly illustrated in color and comprises 200 pages. It was published in summer 2023 and is available directly from the publisher Silvana Editoriale (email: silvanaeditoriale@silvanaeditoriale.it) in two editions – in English as well as in Arabic language. The price is 52,25 €.

Wadee Al Shaqab A WONDER OF THE ARABIAN HORSE WORLD by Kamila Kozłowska photos: Paola Drera, Gigi Grasso, Glenn Jacobs, Ziggy Wellens
Apart from the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt, which today is far from its original splendour and greatness, the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, the most marvellous architectural and artistic human achievements, are long gone and unavailable for admiration. Limited only by imagination, one can try to envision the excellence of the Colossus of Rhodes, the Lighthouse of Alexandria, the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus, the Temple of Artemis, the Statue of Zeus at Olympia and the Hanging Gardens of Babylon based on the detailed description provided by ancient authors. Nevertheless, nowadays one can only wonder how magnificent these ancient monuments must have been. Impossible as it may seem, the equivalent of the ancient Seven Wonders exists in the Arabian Horse World thanks to the highly-accomplished Al Shaqab Stud of Qatar, one of the most influential breeding programmes in the world and the member of the Qatar Foundation. The founder of the Stud, His Highness
Emir Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani, gave the greatest gift to all Arabian horse aficionados in the form of seven spectacular World Champion Stallions: Gazal Al Shaqab (Anaza El Farid – Kajora / Kaborr), Al Adeed Al Shaqab (Ansata Halim Shah – Sundar Alisayyah / Ruminaja Ali), Marwan Al Shaqab (Gazal Al Shaqab – Little Liza Fame / Fame VF), Fadi Al Shaqab (Besson Carol – Abha Myra / Marwan Al Shaqab), Kahil Al Shaqab (Marwan Al Shaqab – OFW Mishaahl / Mishaah), Hariry Al Shaqab (Marwan Al Shaqab – White Silkk / Dakar El Jamaal) and, last but not least, Wadee Al Shaqab (Marwan Al Shaqab – OFW Mishaahl / Mishaah). Each and every one of these extremely successful show champions and superb breeding stallions is a Wonder in his own right. Except for being classified as one of the Seven Wonders of the Arabian Horse World, Wadee Al Shaqab represents the royalty of the breed. He descends from the majestic dynasty of champions commenced by his paternal grandsire,

Wadee’s dam, the outstanding bay OFW Mishaahl (Mishaah – OFW Balarina / RSD Dark Victory), heavily linebred to Bask on both sides of her pedigree, was purchased by Al Shaqab Stud in 2006 as a four-year-old unproven mare from her breeders, Orrion Farms of the USA. a swan-like neck became one of their dams of distinction as she produced three World Champions by Marwan Al Shaqab, the aforementioned stallions Kahil and Wadee as well as the stunning bay Sultanat Al Shaqab, the 2015 World Silver Champion Yearling Filly. Based on the aristocratic origin of Wadee, the expectations of his breeders towards him were extremely high since the day he was born. He definitely did not disappoint even though the beginning of his show career was challenging to say the least. Born at the end of August, Wadee usually competed against much older and more developed colts and yet it did not stop him from crushing his competition. As a very young colt, Wadee debuted in the demanding show arenas of the Middle East where he won his first medals at such important events as Qatar Nationals and Al Khalediah International Arabian Horse Show. The 2011 Qatar National Show was an especially memorable moment. Despite the fact that he competed against older colts in the championships, he swept the judges off their feet and took the top of the podium. At roughly the same time that Kahil triumphed in Paris as the 2011 World Gold Champion Junior Colt, Wadee proved that he also was ready to shine bright in the most significant show rings in the world. At the end 132 | TUTTO ARABI - www.tuttoarabi.com
of the day, he was the newly crowned National Gold Champion Junior Colt of Qatar. His homeland triumph parallel to his older brother’s big win in Paris turned out to be somewhat prophetic. When Wadee turned two, he himself took the European show rings by storm. Not only did he become gold medallist, highest-scoring male and Male Best in Show at the prestigious Mediterranean and Arab Countries Championship in Menton, he also managed to mimic his brother’s spectacular success in another French arena at the most significant show in the world. Only a year after Kahil was crowned with gold medal in Paris, Wadee followed in his full brother’s footsteps, becoming another World Gold Champion Junior Colt that originated from the aristocratic bloodlines of Al Shaqab. What an astonishing achievement it was for the three-year-old Wadee, his regal dynasty and for the incomparable breeding programme of the famous Qatari Stud Farm. As a two-year-old World Champion, Wadee had nothing else to prove in the show arena as a junior colt and thus he returned to Qatar to enjoy life and grow into a stallion. The Arabian horse enthusiasts around the world were wondering how this classy young colt would mature however Wadee did not

return to the show ring for five long years after his wonderful victory in Paris. His much-anticipated comeback into the world of show competition took place on the beautiful beaches of French Riviera where the world elite of the Arabian breed compete each year for the highest honours. It was well worth the wait! Exceptionally masculine and charismatic to the core, Wadee became the talk of the town at the 2017 Mediterranean and Arab Countries Championship in Menton. Unsurprisingly, he placed first in the class of seven-year-old and older stallions with the highest score among males, the incredible 93.63 points, including a full set of twenties for type and another three for head and neck. After five years of developing and maturing into this incredible life statue of an Arabian, Wadee did finally repeat his astounding accomplishment from the 2012 Menton show. Enchanting
everyone who laid their eyes on him, the elite group of judges being no exception, Wadee took home the trophies for Unanimous Gold Champion Senior Stallion and Male Best in Show of the 2017 Mediterranean and Arab Countries Arabian Horse Championship. As the show in Menton is often considered the prelude to the World Championships in Paris, Wadee was expected to enter this most significant of all shows and to win it with ease. Again, he did not fail to amaze the audience in the Parisian show ring. Bewitchingly beautiful and more captivating than ever, Wadee hypnotised the judges and finished his class in the first place with the highest score of the show – 93.83 points, including twelve twenties (five for type, four for head and neck and three for movement). After a fierce fight in the finals, Wadee took the top of the podium next to his two distant cousins, Equator and Equiborn KA (out www.tuttoarabi.com - TUTTO ARABI | 135

The 2017 World Championships was truly special for Wadee and his breeders as the Gold Champion title was not his only triumph. As significant as the show career might seem to a stallion, his achievements in the breeding barn are equally if not more important. When Wadee was crowned World Gold Champion Senior Stallion, two of his precious progeny shared the stage with their sire. His beautiful bay two-yearold daughter Belladonna AT (out of Om
El Bellatrix / Om El Shahmaan) was the 2017 World Bronze Champion Junior Filly and his stunning grey son Figaro (out of Shirin by Aisha / WH Justice) became 2017 World Gold Champion Yearling Colt. The fact that the 2017 Platinum World Champion Male title was awarded to the amazing Gazal Al Shaqab, Wadee’s paternal grandsire and the progenitor of the highly-accomplished dynasty of champions, was the icing on the cake to the exceptional success of Wadee, his phenomenal family and Al Shaqab Stud www.tuttoarabi.com - TUTTO ARABI | 137

at the 2017 World Championships in Paris. As befits the heir to the Al Shaqab dynasty, Wadee blessed the breeders around the world with some outstanding offspring. After so many years of his service as a sire, it is impossible to list all his precious progeny, however the fact that he sired two World Champions who won three medals in Paris (Belladonna AT was Bronze Champion Senior Mare in 2021) is the proof of his great genetic prepotency and powerful influence as a breeding stallion. Gifted with the commanding charisma of his sire and 138 | TUTTO ARABI - www.tuttoarabi.com
grandsire as well as exceptionally correct conformation of his predominantly Polish dam line, Wadee turned out to be a worthy successor of his highlyinfluential sire line and an extremely valuable asset to the Arabian breed. As has been shown by the breeding potential of his full brother Kahil Al Shaqab, who has also sired three World Champion winners up to date, Wadee’s genetic powers are definitely not a coincidence. Without a doubt, Wadee is more than capable of siring show champions and valuable breeding horses with a wide variety of mares and he is sure to bring any breeding programme
BLOODLINE to the next level when it comes to Arabian type, charisma and correctness of conformation. When one is born in the prominent stables of Al Shaqab Stud as a descendant of the legendary championproducing dynasty, it is only natural that the expectations towards them are unbelievably high from the very first moment of their existence. Wadee Al Shaqab was expected to pursue greatness in every aspect of his life and the fact that his two-year-older full brother Kahil set the bar incredibly high did not make this mission any easier. Yet, Wadee reached great heights of success both as an accomplished show champion and as a superb breeding sire and it seems
that there are no limits as to what he can achieve in the future. And yes, it is a great honour to be double World Champion and the sire of winners but it is even greater privilege to become heir to one of the greatest Arabian horse families of all time. With all his astonishing accomplishments, Wadee proudly joined the pantheon of the Al Shaqab World Champion Stallions as its youngest member and one of its brightest stars. And just like that, the wonderful Wadee Al Shaqab has become one of the Seven Wonders of the Arabian Horse World for all of us to adore and admire. q

Foaled in 1920 Bint Riyala was sired by Nadir, a Kuhaylan

MonZen
(Extract from the Book of the Eternally Wild, MonZen’s Mixing Identities Art Exhibition at the National CKS Memorial, Taipei Oct 21st - Nov 2d 2023)
MonZen’s journey of living relationships create memories and impressions that ignited his creativity and form the foundation of his work … MonZen’s art demonstrates the power of the creative process and how it can awaken a viewer to contemplate their own perception of the journey they are on. MonZen paints to record his good memories, and to encourage us to explore the beauty of our relationship with people, places and animals. MonZen believes that the process of building oneself is a result of continuous relations with other people’s identities and identities of communities, culture, and societies. With infinite ways of expressing ourselves to communicate we are connected with other bodies and spaces which form our perception of the surrounding reality. We are fortunate that MonZen has chosen to express himself (communicate) through painting, and has shared with us his journey. His striking paintings, especially those depicting Arabian horses, demonstrates his style characterized by the use of vivid colors and dynamic knife strokes to capture a strong sense of motion and energy reflective of these powerful, elegant, and noble animals. MonZens’s works transcends time and culture and possess a unique ability to capture these amazing animals and enriches our understanding of their beauty, physical strength, and enduring spirit. DOHA
INTERNATIONAL by Tutto Arabi Magazine z photos by Simone Bergamaschi
In the splendid setting of the Outdoor Arena of the Qatar Equestrian Federation in Doha, Qatar, the 3rd edition of the Ecaho-affiliated International B took place. The importance of this show at the beginning of the year is fundamental, as the first three horses in each class will be considered qualified and able to participate in the subsequent and numerous Class A and Title shows to be held in the Middle East. In fact, of the 378 entries in the show, only about 70 will be accepted into

the next competitions, obviously in addition to those already qualified. The event took place from 5 to 8 January. The arena for this show was adapted to the needs - it has been furnished with panels separating the ring from the collecting ring and the two side strips have been used as VIP areas. The result is an elegant look beautifully designed with the help of Mrs. Aisha Ahmad Al Ahmadi. An optimal solution given that the original location is circular. . Also excellent was the catering service ‘Al Messila’, which served lunch and dinner to all guests on all days of the event. Numerous owners and breeders came from Kuwait, KSA, Bahrain, Lebanon, Jordan and Egypt and all were helped by
Mrs. Dalya Tariq and Mr. Fajar Sadiq for supporting them in the process of importing their horses. The great work took place in the field and behind this great event are Mr. Bader Mohammed Al Darwish, CEO of the Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club (QREC), Mr. Majid Nasser Al Kaabi Director of the show and Mr. Saad Ali AlKubaisi a Deputy show director, who we have seen award several categories and who were perennially attentive to the success of the show. The list of all those who worked on this show is obviously very long. Mrs. Rebecca Thomas (UK) and Mrs. Cristina Cicolin (It) Show Coordinators have been a daily contact and guide for all of us media, judges, all DC staff and vets.

SHOWS AND EVENTS Great work for DCs Mrs. Line Brunsgaard, Mrs. Christine Keyser, Barbara Pfistner and Mrs. Noora Fawzy, who checked the horses for each class before and during. The 23 classes were judged by Mrs. Maria Ferraroni (Italy), Mr. Tomasz Tarcyznski and Mr. Marek Trela (Poland), Ali Ghanem Al Mazrouei (U.A.E.), Mr. Koenraad Detailleur (Belgium), Mr. Tarek Hamza (Egypt), Mr. Carmelo Zaragoza (Spain), Mr. Mohamed Oussidhoum (Morocco), Mr.ElyasFaraj (Bahrain). Mrs. Nabilah Al Ali from Kuwait and Mrs. Manal Salmi took turns at the microphone as announcers. Excellent work by Mr. Roberto Ceccaroni - Ring master - who despite almost four hundred horses never lost his proverbial self-control. The categories started each day at 2.00 pm, the weather was wonderful and everything went well for the 4 days where the horses qualified for the final clash, the championship held immediately after the last three stallion categories. The final day of the championships begins with the first large group of Yearling Fillies and it is “MHS SORA” (EKS FARAJJ x NOOF) owned by Mubarak Alkhashab - Alkhashab Stud that takes the first Gold medal. The Silver goes to “AYSHA EV” ( JYVAR MEIA LUA x PIETRAH EV) and the Bronze medal also goes to AL JUMAIL Stud with “NOUF ALJUMAIL” (NAMOUS AL SHAHANIA x ASSUNTA GCA). We continue with the 2/3 year old fillies and “MZOON AL DIRIYAH” (KANZ ALBIDAYER x KADI AL ENAYA) owned by Mesfer Mohammed M A Al Hajri (QAT). Silver for “J SHAMASI” (EXCALIBUR EA x AJ ANSAM) owner AL WAJBA STUD. Bronze for “SAB’AH AL SHAHANIA” (MARWAN AL SHAQAB x ASSILAH AL SHAHANIA) owner H.E Sheikha Iman M K Al Thani. In the mares championship is gold medal “D FALA” (EMERALD J x FER FIERA BLANCA) owner Al Salem Stud. Silver is “ASHADIYA” (AMMAR EL MABROUKA x MAHRIAH) owned by AL NASSER STUD SHEIKH NAWAF BIN NASSER AL THANI. Bronze medal for ‘E.M QUEEN DESERT’ (FADI AL SHAQAB x WAJD AL SHAQAB) owned by AL HAMAD STUD. It is evening now, we begin to see jackets and coats on the field and in the stands, but the tension for the males championship makes us forget even the cold of the desert. The male yearlings enter, there are so many of them and it starts to become difficult to give a judgement but the judges have no doubts and the first gold goes to “QAYSAR RJ” (GHAITH AL ZOBAIR x QAMAR RG) 2023 Arabians Bay Colt Foal (SA) owned by Hamd Bin Mohammed Bin Suliman Alrajhi - Al Rajhiah Stud. To follow we have a
silver medal for AL WAJBA STUD with ‘AESAR ALWAJBA’ (AJ RADMAN x LR ALTAGRACIA). Bronze goes to “ZAYED AL JUMAIL (SMA MAGIC ONE x NOOR AL JAWAD) by Al Jumail Stud (QA). Moving on to the 2/3 years old colts we see “BAHI AL JAHAM” (BADIEA AL NASSER x BREA EA) owned by Al Jaham Stud (QAT) bring home a Gold medal. Silver for ‘KASSAR RAGHDAN’ (AJA JUSTAFIRE x DEMETRRIA) owned by Mr. Bader Alrasman. Bronze medal for “HAMZA AL SHAHANIA” (EKS MANSOUR x MISS MARWAN PA) owned by Sheikha Reem Mohamed Khalifa H Al-Thani. The ring really fired up due to the large number of stallions in the arena and gold goes to Kuwait with “BASHIR AL BASHIR” (GALLARDO J x NASTYA OS) owned by ABDULLATEEF BASHEER REJA ALRASHEEDI. The silver medal instead goes to Bahrain with ‘TAHAN GHALEB’ (FA EL RASHEEM x TAYBAH) owned by Nr. Mostafa Abdulrahman Rajab. The bronze medal goes to Qatar with “MANSOUR AL KHOR” (WADEE AL SHAQAB x RUMAITHA AL ZOBARA) owned by Mr. Fahad Rashid M K Al Hajri. The show ends with the customary awarding ceremony for the judges and all the numerous operating staff. Me personally, my photographer and Tuttoarabi feel honoured to have started the year 2024 in one of the best well organised shows and I thank again the QATAR RACING & EQUESTRIAN CLUB for the wonderful hospitality. See you next year, in the meantime you can enjoy Simone Bergamaschi’s pictures of the show (simone_bergamaschi_photographer). q
