SPECIAL DAY THE 10TH EDITION OF “THE CONTEMPORARY ART BIENNALE OF LYON” This is the 10th edition of this cultural event which takes place once every two years in Lyon, in various significant places of the city. After 20 years of existence, the Biennale is reinventing itself around the theme of “ The Spectacle of the Everyday”. Exploring and presenting the new tendency of the global art scene in its common efforts to reinvent the ordinary into something spectacular and unique, or a new multitude of expressions of diversity, complexity and interactivity, the Biennale itself will certainly reach a new youth. During this Biennale opening day ( professional preview), a guiding tour of Lyon will shed the light on the various city artistic approaches.

8.00 am Departure from Paris- Gare de Lyon Railway station 10.00 am Arrival at the Lyon Part-Dieu Railway station 10.30 am Stopover at your hotel: “Cour des Loges” Located in the heart of le “Vieux Lyon”, the hotel is famous for its dramatic architecture of the Renaissance period. 11.00 am Tour of “La Sucrière” Located along the Saône docklands, at the heart of the Confluence district, this old warehouse has been converted into one the Contemporary Art Biennale venue. It is now considered as one of Lyon cultural main places, connecting industrial past and contemporary art.

1. 00 pm Luncheon at the restaurant “Rue Le Bec” One of the finest Lyon restaurant. The restaurant is managed by a chef who have been awarded with two stars by the prestigious Michelin guide. -

Meeting with the “chef” Nicolas Le Bec, Thierry Raspail and Anne Roue ( curator of the 10th contemporary art Biennale ).

4.30 pm Dock Art Fair Tour Located 100 meters from La Sucrière, along the Saône docklands, this international contemporary art fair could be defined as complementary to “La Biennale”. 4.00 pm Fluvial shuttle transfer Fluvial shuttle transfer along the Saône and the Rhône ( the two rivers crossing Lyon ) to the “Entrepôt Bichat”. 5.00 pm Musée d'Art Contemporain de Lyon tour Designed by Renzo Piano, the M.A.C. of Lyon hold a significant part of the Biennale d'Art Contemporain de Lyon, in addition to their permanent collection and exhibitions they organise.

9.00 pm “Soirée des artistes” At the Rue Le Bec, with artists but also the Contemporary art Biennale official partners.

9.30 am Departure from the hotel 10.00 am Private tour of the Musées Gadagne with Simone Blazy, Curator. The “Hôtel de Gadagne” is a historic monument located in the centre of the “Old Lyon” area. It is one of the widest Renaissance block of the City, and it combines the Historical Museum of Lyon and the International Puppet Museum. 12.30 pm Luncheon with Patrick Penot, Théâtre des Célestins manager. 3.00 pm Visit of the Institut Lumière Monument of culture and memory, the Institut Lumière is based at the heart of Monplaisir area, an historical place where the Cinematograph was invented and where the first movie was shot. Today, it is both a museum and a movie theatre holding retrospectives and cinema exhibitions.
