SWPL v Celtic

Welcome! Welcome to our final home game and our final Scottish Building Society Scottish Women’s Premier League game of the 2018 season. We are delighted to be in the position of having retained our SWPL1 status for the 2019 season but the players and coaches aim to end the season on a high by winning today’s match against Celtic Women. These matches are always very exciting and we wish both teams the best of luck. We are saddened that we end the season without our Head Coach Barry Rodgers, who resigned last week, however assistant coach Craig Beveridge has stepped into the role on an interim basis and has seen the team through the last few training sessions and matches. We wish Craig and the other coaches the best of luck with today’s match. Everyone wants to wish Barry the best of luck for the future and thank him for his efforts with both the SWPL and BUCS teams this year. We are excited that Scottish Women’s Football have reintroduced their annual awards evening again this year and we are delighted that our team captain and goalkeeper, Chloe Logan, has been shortlisted as one of only four players for the Scottish Building Society SWPL 1 Player of the Year Award. This is an amazing achievement for Chloe and well deserved. The winner will be announced at the MG Alba Scottish Women’s Football Annual Awards ceremony on Saturday 17th November at the Hilton Glasgow. Good luck Chloe! On behalf of everyone involved in the women’s football programme at the University of Stirling I would like to thank you all for your interest and support in the team and the wider club this year and we look forward to 2019 and new challenges. Alison Mackie - Chairperson
