We’d like to take a moment each month to show our appreciation for the volunteers that make CHA Animal Shelter what it is. As you know, volunteers come in many forms. We often think of the dog walkers and adoption counselors, but the communication committee is there to help get the word out about all the great things CHA accomplishes and how member donations help each and every dog and cat. Joni Bentz Seal has been using her creative skills to help the shelter before there was an actual committee. For 20 years, she has taken on the great responsibility of coordinating our member newsletter, The Tailwaggin’ Times. This includes, assisting with writing articles, gathering articles from other volunteers, designing the newsletter, printing, assembling and mailing. Plus she is responsible for negotiating the least expensive way to make this happen. After two decades, Joni is handing over the torch to Alison Bechtel. Joni will continue to help with writing articles, editing and assisting with flyers or other items as needed. We can’t thank Joni enough for her sta and commitment to CHA, the staff the CHA dogs and cats. Thanks for all you do, Joni!

We’re happy to report that we recently won a grant from one our local partners, Ohio Pet License Plates. Ohio Pet License Plates has generosity granted $3,000 to help with the spaying and neutering of the cats and dogs of CHA. This organization creates specialty license plates that help raise funds for education, the spaying and neutering of pets for low-income families and for dogs and cats adopted from qualifying agencies. We appreciate their generous gift and hope that you’ll consider supporting their organization to help even more animals. Any registered vehicle owner in the state of Ohio is eligible to receive these plates. For more information, see the link on our website or visit www.PetsOhio.com
