POGGI GROUP Conveyor Industries Ltd (CIL) are the official representatives in Oceania for Poggi Group. We supply a range of silos, from 35m3 to 6000m3 (up to 50m in dia) for cement, limestone, fly ash, aggregates, etc. Horizontal silos – Particularly suitable for construction sites due to their mobility, requiring no permanent structures. Vertical silos – Efficient and strong bolt up construction with large capacities. The modular design allows silos to be combined in a series to provide more storage with the same floor footprint. Each silo can be divided into two or more compartments, to contain different products. Silo Design Poggi silos are designed to meet seismic requirements, snow, and wind loadings. CIL can provide 3D layouts incorporating your silo and equipment requirements. Shipment All the parts forming a silo are mechanically fastened to a frame to avoid damage during transport by land or sea and to optimise container space.

RAVENSDOWN
Ravensdown Hornby Works undertook an extensive redevelopment of their site after the Christchurch earthquakes of 2010 and 2011; including the upgrade of their bulk truck loadout and sulphur intake systems. Conveyor Industries supplied and installed two Air Supported Belt Conveyors (ASBC) for the project. Installed during 2014, the first unit was designed to convey various fertilises to the other downstream truck load-out conveyors. At approximately 77m long, the belt is air-supported on both the product and return sides. This meant a maintenance walkway and other associated infrastructures like emergency lighting, galleries, and trusses, were unnecessary. The second unit installed during 2015 was part of the intake system for the new sulphur store. It was fabricated almost entirely from stainless steel, with the belt air-supported on both the feed and return side. With a part of the conveyor outside and above a roof, it offered more advantages than a conventional belt conveyor. A maintenance walkway along the length of the conveyor was not required, and being fully enclosed eliminated the concern for product spilling/blowing into the roof and being washed into the storm water system. This type of conveyor has no length limitations and there are no moving parts between the head and tail drums, thereby reducing maintenance requirements. Walkways are not required along the conveyor length as there are no moving parts between the head and tail drums. The strength in the design/shape of the conveyor reduces the need for supports; with spans of up to 30m achievable. Talk to us if you would like us to evaluate your application for an ASBC.

new plymouth district council New Plymouth District Council (NPDC) consulted Conveyor Industries (CIL) to solve a performance problem on a conveying system that feeds wet sludge to a dryer. NPDC thermally treat and dry sludge before it is land filled and naturally absorbed into the environment. NPDC dry the sludge by mixing a small amount of pre-dryed sludge (pellets) with dewatered sludge before it goes through the dryer. The pellets and dewatered sludge is fed by screw feeders into a paddle mixer and discharged into an existing screw conveyor system. NPDC experienced frequent blockages in their system, frequently calling on operators to ‘dig’ it out. CIL engineered, designed, and fabricated completely new 316 stainless steel twin shaftless screws accommodating the variables associated with handling sludges, allowing for a trouble-free operation. CIL was also responsible for the site installation; completed during a planned shutdown. We are particularly proud of achieving the highest Health and Safety standards from the multiple contractors on-site during this period.

Botanical resources australia Conveyor Industries (CIL) supplied a Drag Chain Conveyor and Bucket Elevator to Botanical Resources in Tasmania. Botanical Resources Australia is a global leader in the production of the 100% natural insecticide active, pyrethrins, extracted from Australian grown pyrethrum daisies. The conveyors are part of a new system that converts waste plant material from the pyrethrum manufacturing process into bio-fuel briquettes for industrial boiler fuel. The drag conveyor is utilised to convey the loose, dusty feed material to the briquette machine whilst the bucket elevator is used to fill the briquette silo with the finished briquettes. Both items are approximately 23 metres long. Due to the design of this equipment and the location of the plant, CIL imported the equipment from a supplier in Turkey. The equipment was shipped directly to Tasmania and assembled on-site. Our Turkish supplier design and manufacture an extensive range of material handling and storage equipment, including: Drag Chain, Belt and Screw Conveyors, Bucket Elevators & Aeration Systems, all relevant within the grain industry. We welcome enquiries for your next project.

mini trade shows During 2015 and 2016, Conveyor Industries teamed up with leading suppliers of plant process and plant automation equipment exhibiting in a number of mini tradeshows throughout New Zealand. These shows are focused on visiting smaller centres which would not normally see tradeshows. The shows comprise of around 6-10 companies appealing to engineers, technicians, planners, and procurement specialists from a wide range of engineering disciplines. This includes electrical, mechanical, mechatronic and production, concentrating on both design and maintenance of process plant and machinery. Look out for these shows in your area!
New Lathe & Mill
We recently improved our manufacturing efficiency by upgrading to a CNC Teach Lathe and modern Turret Mill. The new lathe produces faster and more accurate machining with its repeatability feature increasing productivity. The new turret mill machine is further robust with greater capability, precision, and versatility. Reducing the need for subcontracting, both machines advance our manufacturing abilities and improve our efficiency.

FRP PRODUCTS Dennis & Sam Hey founded FRP Products Ltd in mid-2015, a company which specialises in the supply of Fibreglass Reinforced Polymer (FRP) products that meet demanding performance and quality requirements. With the strength and durability that often surpasses traditional materials, FRP is the product of choice within many industrial sectors; including engineering, construction, marine, and more. Fibreglass Reinforced Polymer (FRP) reduces long-term expenditure due to its strength and high-resistance to corrosion. Offering extensive benefits as standard, including lightweight, antislip and non-conductive properties; FRP provides installers with a cost-effective and sustainable alternative to steel, aluminium, and timber. FRP Products is also the official New Zealand distributor for Boplan flexible impact barriers. Manufactured in Belgium, the flexible impact system was specially developed to create a safe (working) environment in an economically sound way. To ensure the protection of people, machinery, tools, goods, buildings, and infrastructure, in places where forklift trucks, carriages, or other vehicles are used. FRP Products carry a wide range of other safety products and will work with you to find a solution that works.

HIWAY STABILIZERS
Conveyor Industries designed, supplied, and installed materials handling equipment for their new intake, storage, and dispatch system in Silverdale, Auckland. The process was designed to unload unused product from a roading project into the intake hopper via tip trucks, and distribute to the four existing or two new silos. It was also possible to convey directly to the bulk bagging station, located inside the dispatch building. The system included an intake hopper, eight screw conveyors, bucket elevator, diverters, chutes, and platforms with a conveying rate of up to 55TPH and an outfeed rate of 30TPH. Due to limited space and working around the two new silos, 3D modelling of the entire system in Inventor insured that all components went together seamlessly on-site. The install was completed incident free over a three week period, with challenges that included working at heights, large cranes lifts, and various weather conditions.
